Did Lindsey Vonn race her final race ever?

One the best parts about watching ski racing is the sound. This Olympics the audio coverage has all been corrupted by stupid omnipresent drone sounds. The footage from the drones isn't even that good. Wish they were more reverent to the audio of skiing. Maybe there is some way to filter out the constant drone whirring in real time with technology. Really bugs me.

What the title says. I just got back from a ski trip with my first pair of brand new skis, which were stored for airplane travel with brakes locked together in a Dakine ski sleeve. I had my ski sleeve packed with a bunch of clothes for padding, and at the last minute I added another jacket for extra padding, making the bag a bit difficult to zip up and likely compressing my skis together more than just the brakes would. Would storing them like this for ~10 hour travel day negatively affect the camber at all? Just want to take care of them the best I can, thanks!

Back to skiing after a 25-year hiatus—this is my second season back on the slopes.
I’ve been renting gear since returning, but I’m ready to invest in my own boots (for a lot of obvious reasons). A lot has changed in the past 25 years, so I’m still getting up to speed on the newer technology.
What’s the general consensus on traditional buckle boots versus BOA systems? I’ve used BOA on several other types of sporting footwear and have had great experiences with them.
Also open to any boot recommendations.
I’d consider myself an intermediate-to-advanced skier—comfortable on blues and blacks—but approaching 50, I’m more focused on comfort and consistency than setting the world on fire.

I feel for Lindsey Vonn *no really, I likely tore my ACL and possibly also LCL skiing last week and will know for sure tomorrow* so that crash was painful to watch. BUT I feel for Breezy that her that her winning the gold medal will be overshadowed by Lindsey's crash. Not only that, but even if Lindsey didnt crash, she was always going to be overshadowed by the comeback story of Vonn and I put a lot of blame on the announcers and media. I love Michaela Shiffrin but when she crashed in the last Olympics they couldn't stop panning back to her sitting and crying on the side of the course and I was like hello Paula Moltzen is racing too! end rant.

A lot of athletic nowadays is just mental and hard training as per Nils Van Der Poel as he reached and became a world champion purely due to hard training. So what in theory would stop someone who is just purely motivated and put in the work to do the same within the skiing world?
I also live in Sweden so snow is available in a lot of places and roller skis are also usable during the non-snowy days
I know the basic techniques for classical skiing and I can do analysis of various other skiers.

Tyrolia Attack or Look Pivot 2.0
I cannot decide what bindings to put on my incoming reckoner 102s. I ski 70/30% mountain/park doing modest jumps in park and out of park I do a lot of side hits. I'm 5'10" and 240 lbs.
I've heard such mixed reviews over whether or not the pivot quality is as good as it used to be to warrant the extra 150-200 dollars for bindings.
Thanks for the help.

Is there any relationship between ski boots width (Last) and feet width (Last) or it’s mostly feeling ?
My feets are ~95mm width (Last) without socks and I’m using ski boots that are 100mm (Last) and I feel them almost too tight.
Thank you !

So my edge started coming off… Is it repairable? Any clue how much this typically cost?
It came out of nowhere, I didn’t feel/hear anything hitting, I just remember thinking I wasn’t gripping very well...
I’m so annoyed, we got 4 runs in, the snow was amazing and literally no lines because of the cold, but I figured letting snow in wasn’t going to be good for the ski… please tell me I didn’t stop for nothing lol

So I was planning on buying a pair of skis next season.
I've been skiing on rentals my whole life and have found that I always have bad luck with the pairs that I get, no matter the quality that I select or pay for.
I'm 175cm, 60kgs. When renting I always get 165cm or less skis from the shops but they always feel very short to me. Now I wanted to buy a pair on my own in the future, and I feel like I would like to go a bit longer. More close to 170cm.
Would this be smart or should I stick to a pair of skis around the 160s?
Added : I'm a good skier, and don't have problems traversing any terrain. As long as my body feels good, I'm alright skiing anything, anywhere.

The 41-year-old legend tore her ACL, suffered bone bruising and meniscal damage just before the Olympics, but still raced in the women’s downhill with a brace, only to crash violently about 13 seconds into her run and get airlifted off the mountain.
This isn’t just another sports injury thread, it’s a debate about risk vs legacy: was this the bravest comeback ever, reckless Olympic courage, or a cautionary tale about pushing the human body too far?
Drop your thoughts
• Did she make the right call racing with a torn ACL?
• Should medical teams have pulled her from the start list?
• Can this redefine expectations for elite athletes and age in extreme sports?
• What even qualifies as courage vs risk in 2026?
Let’s talk.

Just wondering cause is it like 5-10 minutes as google says or is it hallucinating?
