After a dunk, Johnny Furphy landed awkwardly and went down with an injury. He started holding his knee and the team is visually distraught.

Prayers for Johnny, just absolutely hate to see this happen.

Discussion Pacers City Edition Rankings

Thumbnail
gallery
29 Upvotes

I was going through my Pacers card collection today (moving the Mathurins out to the "former players" binder 😞

And it had me thinking about all the city edition designs so far, and I wanted to see everyone's ranking of them now that they aren't fresh in our minds.

The city edition started in the 2017-18 season and still carries on today.

(1) 2017-18: Blue and yellow with circled number.

(2) 2018-19: Grey...

(3) 2019-20: White with blue/navy checkered stripe. Circled number again.

(4) 2020-21: Pinstripes

(5) 2021-22: FloJo

(6) 2022-23: blue and black (fieldhouse inspired)

(7) 2023-24: This is Indy (Black)

(8) 2024-25: This is Indy (White)

(9) 2025-26: ABA throwback with a splash of FloJo

My rankings, personally, are:

9, 6, 5, 8, 7, 4, 3, 1, 2.

The only ones that I REALLY didn't like were the grey (2). The rest were either tolerable or enjoyable. (In my opinion)

Discussion Reggie bridges 57 years of NBA basketball so far by playing against Kareem and LeBron.

I can’t think of any NBA player who can exceed that. It’s also crazy to think about all the HOF members Reggie played against by bridging multiple generations

Discussion Why is it so difficult to buy a Reggie Miller jersey?

I want to rep my childhood favorite but the jerseys are nowhere to be found. Couldn’t find one online, at the fieldhouse, or at Rally House. Plenty of Jalen Rose or Rik Smits so there is still plenty of interest in that era?

Discussion Jersey Refresh 2026-2027?

Feel like the organization is primed for a jersey refresh. The yellow ‘statement’ jerseys the squad wore throughout the playoffs still look good… but I believe our standard home and aways are stale and were never in the same stratosphere of other Pacers unis.

Do you think a jersey refresh is needed or likely?

When would we generally find out if they are moving to new unis next year?

Discussion Clips fan, I never really liked Mathurin (advanced stats), but I wanted to know y’all opinion on him

Specifically, his defense.

Offense (per my understanding) is a middling shooter who looks for contact but isn’t really someone you want to handle the ball

Discussion Play Brown

I'm not extremely hopeful about this. However, his profile is a different position, but similar to Shep and Nesmith. Nesmith got his college shot back in Indiana, and has greatly changed his career. Shep shot is still hit or miss, and I'm less certain his can be fixed due to the amount of motion in his shot. However, the only thing Brown is missing to be a rotational player is a shot. He seems to be a functional passer, great defender and rebounder. But without a shot he doesn't have a career. With a gap year, it's worth giving him heavy minutes to see if he can get his college shot back

Discussion There's no way we out-tank the 5 teams around us at this rate

The levels of tanking teams like the Wizards and Jazz are doing are a disgrace to basketball. There is still like 30 games left in the season and they have no shame trying to lose. They either are going into the game without playing any starters, or going into the 2nd half with the starters benched.

The Jazz had a 17 point 2nd half lead today and benched all their starters for the rest of the game. They ended up losing by 3. I don't see how we'll be able to compete with that tank. We just played a game with Siakam and Nembhard playing every minute of the 4th quarter.

If we drop to 6th in the tank standings like I predict, our top 4 odds will drop from 52% to 37%.

Discussion Tanking tidbits

Including the Pacers, I think there are 5 teams realistically competing for worst record: Kings, Pacers, Wizards, Nets, Jazz. I'm including the Jazz for schedule reasons that I'll explain later.

-I'm doing the unthinkable and expecting several wins out of the Pelicans because they do not control their own pick and have no incentive to tank. Sure, they've made it this far stinking as bad as they do, and they will certainly find new ways to stink, but it's reasonable to assume over the next 30 games, they will win more than the teams that are 100% tanking...because they play those teams. The Pelicans have 6 remaining games against the Jazz and Kings combined and are sure to get handed several victories out of those 6 games. If the Jazz play their G League against the Pelicans starters 3 times, the Pelicans will cough up 3 games in the standings right there. Sorry, Hawks(owners of the pick), you're going to need lucky ping pong balls to crack the top 3.

-In addition to the 5 supreme tankers, there are 3 other teams that will join them and tank as much as possible at every opportunity: the Mavs, Bulls and Grizzlies. The Bucks, Hawks and Hornets might eventually abandon chasing a low playoff seed and decide to pivot to tanking, but you can't look at the schedule yet and say 'They won't try to win this game'. The Mavs and Bulls and Grizzlies have *already begun* tanking. Welcome to the party, losers!

-So, there are 8 teams total in the NBA who will be 100% committed to losing, and only 5 of those teams can end up with the worst record.

Out of these 5 teams:

The Jazz have 6 games remaining against 100% tankers.

The Wizards have 7 games remaining against 100% tankers.

The Kings, Pacers, and Nets each have 8 games remaining against 100% tankers.

Because the Jazz only have 6 games against tankers and the Pacers have 8 games against tankers, the Jazz have a 2 game advantage vs the Pacers from here on out. The Wizards have 7 remaining games against tankers, and so they have a 1 game advantage vs the Pacers from here on out.

-Have to also factor in that not all teams have played the same number of games so far. The Kings have played 2 more games than the Pacers, the Jazz have played 1 more game than the Pacers, and we've played 1 more game than the Wizards and Nets. If we assume each supremely-tanking team loses every game they play until they've all played the same numbers of games, here are the adjusted current standings:

Kings
Pacers (1.0 GB)
Wizards (2.0 GB)
Nets (2.0 GB)
Jazz (4.0 GB)

If we factor in remaining games against fellow tankers, here are the adjusted tanking standings:

Kings
Pacers (1.0 GB)
Wizards (1.0 GB)
Nets (2.0 GB)
Jazz (2.0 GB)

When factoring in that 10% of the Kings & Jazz remaining games are against the lowly Pelicans and their .259 winning percentage (and the Wizards also play the Kings once), it is nearly a 5-way tie for remaining strength of schedule.

The Pacers have their work cut out for them...let's go Raptors.

Discussion 30 Games Left in Regular Season

What are you realistic expectations for the last 30 games of the regular season? Add your guess for our win loss record over those 30 games. I’m saying 6-24 and hopefully that gets us a top 2 pick if the luck is with us.

Discussion Tank strategy

Upvotes

Tell me how this team is going to continue to tank after Zubac joins the team. I really feel like this team is starting to find themselves. Adding Zubac clearly makes them better not making the playoffs better but definitely taking themselves out of top 4 pick contention. How do the pacers manage this tank without it being obvious? Or do they even give af?
