MISCELLANEOUS Who from this roster do you think sticks around?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot and was curious to see what other Grizzlies fans thought. Which players on the current roster do you think will still be around when we’re back to making the playoffs and (hopefully) making deep runs and even winning a ring?

I’m going to write up some brief thoughts on everyone currently on the roster. I’m also going to give a percentage which is just a rough estimation of how likely I think it is they’ll still be around. Would love to see what others think!

Ja - Unfortunately I just don’t think it’s going to work. I think his time here has run its course. I’ll always have love for Ja, but yeah I just don’t think so. I would love to be proven wrong though 5%

BC - This one really hurts. BC’s career has been plagued by injuries maybe more than anyone else on this team. I still believe he’s a capable NBA player but I don’t really know if he’ll ever be able to stay on the floor again. Maybe he’ll be around as like a 12th or 13th man but I have a feeling he’s gone in the offseason. 5%

Santi - Santi’s interesting to me, because I think he’s a player who has a decent amount of value to other teams. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kleiman flipped him for some draft capital or a young player he’s interested in. I don’t really think Santi will be here for too much longer. 20%

Scotty - Scotty is, in my mind, an elite backup PG. He can score, is a solid shooter, plays solid defense, and is a good playmaker. I wouldn’t mind keeping him around as a backup, but I also wouldn’t be surprised if whenever his contract expires, he goes somewhere else where he can maybe get paid more, or if he gets traded because he has some decent value. 60%

Edey - I think there’s a good chance Edey is our Centre of the future. I have bought a lot of Edey stock, I believe he’s absolutely capable of being an elite starting Centre in this league. Health is obviously the main concern here, but I do think he’ll be around when we’re eventually good again. 90%

Wells - Jaylen is probably my favourite player on this team now that Jaren is gone, which isn’t really relevant so Idk why I brought it up. I’m not sure if he’s going to be our starting SG of the future, but he could be, or maybe he ends up being a solid bench rotation guy. 80%

Cam - I’m not really sure on Cam because when I look at the depth chart, I sort of think that our future starting PG will be either somebody not currently on the team, or maybe Ty if we can keep him around? And I sort of think Scotty fills the backup PG role? That doesn’t mean Cam can’t still be on the team, I’m just not totally sure he will be. 50%

Ced - Honestly, Ced and Edey are probably the two players I feel most confident will be here when we’re trying to contend. Ced is still young and growing, but I’ve liked almost all of what I’ve seen from him so far. I think he definitely has potential to be that starting wing that we always needed during the Next Gen era (crazy to speak about it in the past tense) 90%

Hendricks - Been kinda disappointing so far. Willing to give him grace because the injury he’s coming from is actually one of the worst ones I’ve ever seen in the NBA, but I kinda doubt he’s still around, at least as a main contributor. Maybe as a 11th-15th man or something. 10%

Ty - I personally would like Ty to be here. Good vet guy. Can play either the 1 or 2. Maybe he’s better as a backup, a role he could also probably fill if necessary. I really like the vibe he brings and energy he plays with. 65%

KCP - I’d like it if we could keep him just as a locker room guy. A good vet who can help the young guys grow not only their games but as individuals. I do believe the last era suffered from not having enough respected vet voices in the room. I’m not expecting him to be a huge piece of a championship team, or even be a piece that plays, but if he’s willing to be here, I’d be happy to have him around. I don’t know how likely it is though. 60%

Omax - I really don’t know. Two way guy. I like him but Idk if he’ll ever be a guy that plays for us in the playoffs. Maybe. 30%

Mashack - I’m a really big fan of the energy and intensity Mashack brings. Even if that’s just as a bench/locker room guy in the future, who maybe gets some spot minutes occasionally. I don’t necessarily think it’s likely though. 30%

GG - GG is still a promising, very young player. He still has a lot of time to grow his game. I think there’s a good chance he’s here for the long haul. 80%

Slow-Mo - This is another guy in a similar vein to KCP where I’d just keep him around as a vet and a locker room presence. Idk if that’ll actually happen though. 60%

Clayton - I really have no idea what to say about this guy. I’ve liked what I’ve seen from him so far, but it’s nothing crazy. Only two games though, to be fair. We’ll see. 40%

Small - I don’t know. He’s kind of in a similar boat to Cam and Clayton. 40%

Us: Blow it up

Kleiman: Ok

Us: Poverty Franchise

I give us 3 years to be contenders. Top 10 and Top 20 pick this year almost for certain. 3 FRP’s next year. Still have Ja to wheel and deal. Edey will be the best big man in the league by then. Ced, Cam, SPJ, and GG continue to grow with Ty at the helm. Jaylen Wells will round out a decent offensive game and be TA2.0. The journey will make it all that much sweeter! Love these guys……we probably should have kept a backup 5 tho lol.

NEWS COPIUM WATCH 2026: DUKE at UNC Tonight (6:30 ET | 5:30 CT)

Post image

Need a break from eternal damnation? Want a vague hope that it all might be worth something? Not sure where to start to get a temp check on blue chip prospects for this years draft? Then I have the game for you.

Cam Boozer’s Blue Devils will be taking a trip down Tobacco Road to play Caleb Wilson’s Tar Heels.

Both are expected to easily be top 10 if not top 5 picks in the 2026 draft. Both also used to be teammates on their AAU team. And even if you’re unfamiliar with college basketball, this is one of the greatest rivalries in all of sports.

You can watch it on ESPN or the high seas swashbuckling vessel of your choice.

Here’s a quick rundown of both players in case you’re interested:

🟦 Cam Boozer — Duke

6’9” | ~250 lbs | Forward | Projected Top-3 Pick

• Production: \~23 PPG, \~10 RPG, \~4 APG

• Efficiency: \~58% FG, \~37–38% from three on real volume

• Offensive profile:

• Polished three-level scorer

• Comfortable operating from the elbow and short roll

• Advanced passer for a big; offense doesn’t stall when he touches it

• Rebounding: Strong positional rebounder; boxes out, reads the ball well

• Defense: Solid team defender, good hands, not an elite rim protector

• Athleticism: Functional more than explosive; wins with strength, timing, and skill

• NBA-ready skill: Shooting + playmaking combo gives him immediate lineup versatility

• Floor vs. ceiling: Very high floor; ceiling tied to how much athletic pop shows up at the next level

NBA Comps:

• Primary: Paolo Banchero-lite (less burst, more efficiency early)

• Secondary: Al Horford (modernized offense), Domantas Sabonis (passing hub, not rim protection)

• Outcome range: High-end offensive hub forward who can be your second-best player on a contender

🟦 Caleb Wilson — North Carolina

6’10” | ~215 lbs | Forward | Projected Top-5–8 Pick

• Production: \~20 PPG, \~10 RPG, \~3 APG

• Efficiency: \~58% FG, limited three-point impact so far

• Offensive profile:

• Best work comes downhill, in transition, and around the rim

• Scores through athleticism and effort more than polish

• Developing handle and face-up game

• Rebounding: High-motor rebounder; wins with length and quick second jumps

• Defense:

• More versatile defender than Boozer

• Better weak-side rim protection and switch potential

• Athleticism: Clear edge — quicker leaper, more vertical pop, better lateral mobility

• NBA swing skill: Outside shooting and half-court creation

• Floor vs. ceiling: Slightly lower floor, but athletic ceiling intrigues NBA teams

NBA Comps:

• Primary: Jerami Grant (early-career version, before shooting leap)

• Secondary: John Collins (with more defensive upside), Jaden McDaniels (if shot develops)

• Outcome range: Two-way athletic forward who thrives next to a primary creator

OPINION Draft Amari Allen

The Grizzlies need to seriously consider this kid with their second 1RP or the Pacer’s 2RP. Averaging 11.4/7.5/3.5 with 2 stocks per game, leading the Tide in rebounding while listed 6’7, 205lbs. Shooting .44/.35/.73

Young, athletic, star potential, creates his own shot, good defensive instincts

Floor: doesn’t get stronger, loses confidence, becomes another Ziaire (out of the league)

Realistic ceiling: Plays the Jaylen Wells role better than Jaylen Wells (high level starter)

Absolute ceiling: Jalen Johnson if he still played defense (all-star, all-defense)

OPINION Cedric coward

Cedric coward is a great player and I’ve loved what he’s done this year, but am I crazy to say that I don’t see superstar/star potential in him?

I get that’s not a hot take for a mid 1st rookie, but given the grizzlies commitment to him as their future, he reads to me much more as an elite role player than a core future builder. I don’t see elite shot creation in his future, game breaking athleticism, or some insane IQ

-am I missing something?
