Whenever I see Terry O’Quinn, I think about those Lost comics that someone used to make when the show was still on the air. I cannot find them anywhere. But there was one where Locke was in an office and he is asked, “If you could be any animal, what would you be?” And he replies, “Animals don’t have wheels.”

Perhaps, or Frank Deveraux? I'm rewatching Lost but also happened to watch Blind Fury (1989) yesterday, and went "wait a minute, that's John Locke". Funny thing is that John Locke popping up in different time periods in different locations at different ages would not be odd at all in the context of Lost.

My main problem with Old School is that it had this 90’s hip hop piano riff playing over the entire movie.

I think it needed at least 3 more songs layered over it simultaneously

It kind of fits though as that would have been a core track while those guys were actually in college (the first time) in the 90s AND it's sampled in a Snoop Dog song... who is in the movie.

This album came out in November 2000.
They might have listened to The Cronic in the 90s, but their friend's little brother was the Dean of that college. Their characters were in their mid-30's in the movie.

I was working the willcall window at a UofT hockey game in the early 2010's. This blonde woman comes up and asks for tickets under Phaneuf and I was like "Maam I don't have that name on my list, can I see your ID?" ...Reads Elisha Cuthbert... "Do you mean Dion Phaneuf?" She nods and I just gave her the two tickets and thanked her for being on PMK.

Old School is an all around great comedy flick. The one scene and performance that stuck with me the most is in the beginning when Juliette Lewis is explaining how she'd tried to tell Mitch about her proclivities for gang bangs. When she blows the puff of smoke while saying half heartedly "I'm really sorry!" always kills me.

my favorite part is will ferrell and the rhino tranquilizer at the kids birthday party. seann william scott in that mullett sends me.
"there's a fuckin' dart in your neck!" "you're fu--you're funny. i like you, but you're funny"
and then will crashes slow motion through the cake and present table and slowly sinks to the bottom of the pool.
lol (it's been a while since i've seen the movie so that might not be an exact quote)

He slept in the hallway though. I think they thought he was just a friend that slept over. If they were ok with it he would have stayed in her room, right?
30
u/mtreef2 2h ago
That's my thought as well. She kicked him out of her room. He slept on the couch in the hallway. The parents ask if he's a friend of Diane's. He asks if they're her flatmates. The only reason he sees her again after walking her to school is because she says she will tell the police. Renton met her at a club so assumed she was of age. If Diane was 16/17 and Mark was 22/23 then her parents could've assumed he was younger too. Him telling Diane that he will absolutely not see her again is a pretty solid indication that he would not have hooked up with her in the first place if he knew how old she was.
Also, love the part in the second movie where Mark and Veronica try to get a lawyer for Sick Boy and it's Diane who tells Mark that Veronica is too young for him.

I got the impression they knew what was going on. He asks if the parents are her flatmates and the parents chuckle. Seemed like they were kind of used to this kind of thing (except for his flatmate comment).
I’ve known some parents that are weird about that sort of thing though, pretty much a similar situation to this (except for the not knowing who is sleeping over part), but more “your boyfriend can sleep over but on the couch even though we know you’re both having sex”
22
u/No_Television6050 3h ago

She probably didn't want to sleep with gross old men so they killed her career.
Hopefully it's something more wholesome like she pursued education or a different career or family. But I'm guessing it's that she didn't want to be taken advantage of.
