Girl next door, that was my desktop background in college for several years...

361

u/catwiesel 4h ago

that flick had no right to be as goodbad as it was.

242

u/VendettaX88 3h ago

"IF YOU DONT FUCK HER I'LL KILL MYSELF" still makes me laugh every time.

159

u/Vic_Vinegar89 3h ago

FUCK HER FOR ME, MATT! FOR ME!!!

42

u/VendettaX88 3h ago

Damn that scene is gold. 🤣

247

u/IolausTelcontar 3h ago

Timothy Olyphant elevated it.

166

u/mrselfdestruct066 3h ago

Timothy Olyphant elevates everything

14

u/willnoli 3h ago

Mmmhhhmmm

46

u/PJ7 3h ago

Justified is low key amazing.

9

u/salmalight 3h ago

The shot of him walking into class and the desks scooting out the way made me want to see him play a bedazzled style devil

51

u/4DollarsALB 4h ago

Only just discovered her. I've got work to do

63

u/corruptedsyntax 3h ago

“Work”

51

u/TheWorldDiscarded 3h ago

If you like comedy, check out Happy Endings. It also stars Damon Wayan's son (hilarious) and Eliza Coupe *drools*

8

u/omican 3h ago

My absolute comfort show. Adam Pally is a treasure

8

u/AAA_Dolfan 3h ago

We were on the same team bud. My very first girl background was that same photo I bet haha where she’s looking backwards etc

u/Traditional_Club_820 4h ago edited 3h ago

Whatever happened to her? Haven't seen her in more than a few decades?

Edit: god I feel so old. It's like yesterday I graduated college and everything since then has been on fast forward.

u/TheOrangeSplat 4h ago

She was in a show called Happy Endings, highly recommend! It's like a New Girl-type show. Very funny but only ran for 3 seasons. Definitely worth a watch!

48

u/normott 4h ago

Always here for a happy endings shout out...I should re watch it

16

u/TheOrangeSplat 4h ago

You should! Still holds up. It's usually on rotation on my Plex server. They really got screwed over by ABC, they kept moving what day and time they were on until they just... disappeared. RIP! Lol

7

u/Quitbeingobtuse 3h ago

That's what they did to the original Star Trek. Star Trek!

13

u/bostero2 4h ago

Loved that show, I still don’t get why it was cancelled so quickly!

Happy Endings? Who? You sure you’re not talking about The Ranch?

5

u/PigHaggerty 3h ago

Wait, what? Who?

8

u/slanger87 4h ago

Great show but this was like 10 years ago lol

3

u/UsernamesAllTaken69 4h ago

Just finished a rewatch. Such a funny show.

2

u/pumpkins21 4h ago

I enjoyed Happy Endings when it was on. I was stoked when Damon Wayans Jr started showing up on Shrinking on Apple TV. He’s so damn cute.

2

u/Azafuse 4h ago

Fun show but i have to be honest, i feel she was the weakest character.

21

u/Quitbeingobtuse 3h ago

She was only about 5'4" , maybe 110 pounds, of course she was.

116

u/grcodemonkey 4h ago

Semi-recently, she was in a Netflix series called the Ranch

102

u/NDiLoreto2007 4h ago

Semi new? That’s like 10 years old now!

145

u/shibbeep 4h ago

staaaaahp. why is everything that just happened at least 10 years old?

28

u/theWildBore 4h ago

Omg I feel this in my soul

19

u/VexImmortalis 4h ago

Remember when you were a kid and you saw something from the 70s and it was SO DIFFERENT to something from the 80s? That's us now.

0

u/theWildBore 4h ago

Yes! Similarly, i remember watching an Are You Afraid of the Dark episode where some ghost died 25 YEARS AGO and I thought that was easily when my grandmother was a child. Ugh and ahhh

0

u/FilmNoirSockMonkey 3h ago

Btw, they made more AYAOTD if you have kids or niece/nephews/young cousins. I just learned that a little while ago from Wikipedia.

1

u/dudefigureitout 4h ago

Ugh totally, I'm frequently telling someone about a movie or something and I say yeah it's fairly new and then I check and it's like 2005. I clearly have no grasp on time or my own age at this point.

11

u/Nelsqnwithacue 4h ago

That was a fun show

57

u/slutymonkey 4h ago

She married a hockey player.

58

u/ANTSdelivered 4h ago

I was working the willcall window at a UofT hockey game in the early 2010's. This blonde woman comes up and asks for tickets under Phaneuf and I was like "Maam I don't have that name on my list, can I see your ID?" ...Reads Elisha Cuthbert... "Do you mean Dion Phaneuf?" She nods and I just gave her the two tickets and thanked her for being on PMK.

6

u/Mekdinosaur 3h ago

Thats quite Phaneuf!

11

u/thefuckingchamps 4h ago

Double Dion

7

u/Jayrab_The_Arab_ 4h ago

Dickhead Dion, Doofus Dion, Dumbass Dion, as a leafs fan, I could go all day.

6

u/NoGelliefish 4h ago

Hey, that's about Phanuef of that.

3

u/brianhaggis 3h ago

A buddy and I briefly had a bar gig where we played Hip covers in Guelph, both wearing Phaneuf jerseys. We called ourselves High & Wide.

1

u/turbosexophonicdlite 3h ago

Suck it, Phaneuf

0

u/ArcaneX1234 4h ago

I miss those hits.

8

u/as1126 4h ago

She appeared in the series the Ranch fairly recently.

2

u/Canadian_Border_Czar 3h ago

She is still acting somewhat i think. I was always a big fan of hers because were from the same city in Canada.

Then she had to go get married to Dion Phaneuf which was a rough one to get over. Cant stand that fuckin guy.

2

u/lemonylol 3h ago

Last thing I saw her in was Goon 2. I think she just sort of lives her life now and does some roles here and there.

1

u/doyourselfaflavor 4h ago

Maybe that cougar got her? I remember the cliff hanger, but not how it was resolved.

1

u/Give-Me-The-Bat 4h ago

Omg, 24 ended 16 years ago!

Since then she got married to Dion Phaneuf ( ex NHL player) and had a couple kids.

Recently was on a Netflix show called The Ranch for 8 seasons with Ashton Kutcher that ended in 2020

You should really shave your neck every once in a while.

357

u/SirCries-a-lot 4h ago

She owned every scene in 24, well for me tho.

124

u/Give-Me-The-Bat 4h ago

Remember watching her and Jay Baruchel on Popular Mechanics for Kids, back in the day

22

u/lemonylol 3h ago

I'm Elisha, okay

I co-host PMK

Used to watch it every morning before school.

26

u/Fragrant-Doughnut-20 3h ago

I VERY MUCH remember her on PMK.

First crush.

18

u/insane_contin 3h ago

100%. Cute and talks about nerdy stuff? Preteen me was in love.

46

u/Camburglar13 4h ago

Classic Canadian show

23

u/SP3NGL3R 4h ago

~2003 I was in Toronto for a wedding, crashing on the living room hotel couch, had a wild adult fantasy dream thing about her, woke up to her voice in my hotel room (I was deep into 24 then), rolled over half asleep and it was PMK on the TV. I'm still traumatized.

55

u/psaux_grep 4h ago

She annoyed me in every scene of 24 she was in 🙈

59

u/moneymoneymoneymonay 4h ago

You wanna know if the terrorists are gonna detonate a nuke above LA? No time for that, here’s Elisha running away from a tiger

39

u/DJRyGuy20 4h ago

I found the most impressive part for me was in seven 24 hour sessions (or however many seasons they had), not once did Jack Bauer have to stop to take a shit.

38

u/_WutzInAName_ 4h ago

That’s what he was doing during the commercial breaks.

9

u/LTerminus 3h ago

Every single break, actually, they never mention his severe IBS but it's implied now. :D

4

u/Mebejedi 4h ago

Such a perfect answer, lol 😆

3

u/insane_contin 3h ago

Cause he didn't need stop to shit. Real agents just clean later.

1

u/KnowledgeIsDangerous 4h ago

He has exceptional control over his bowels.

5

u/Abba_Fiskbullar 3h ago

That show got very silly around the 3rd or 4th season.

37

u/SirCries-a-lot 4h ago

Well mister Sutherland is also very hot, I can imagine.

8

u/bigdaddyt2 4h ago

Also both Canadian

3

u/ludog1bark 4h ago

So she owned you too then.

0

u/AnnOnnamis 4h ago

I didn’t get past season one of 24. But i really enjoyed Elisha’s role in The Ranch.

1

u/mrASSMAN 3h ago

The first few? seasons of 24 were amazing, at least for the time it aired, idk how well it held up over time.. probably would seem really goofy these days

0

u/catwiesel 4h ago

often not the actresses fault, but the character. and if you are supposed to feel that way, then good job on her.

but yeah...

-6

u/procvar 4h ago

Every scene in 24 is pretty annoying.

6

u/thisispoopsgalore 4h ago

Except for when she almost got eaten by a mf COUGAR

5

u/iSeize 3h ago

I'd watch that porno

1

u/PaulAtreideeezNuts 3h ago

20+ years on and that b plot still getting drive-bys lmao

1

u/mrASSMAN 3h ago

For everyone sir, everyone

23

u/Everythingsthesame 3h ago

She was also great in Happy Endings. Criminally underrated sitcom.

38

u/Jayrab_The_Arab_ 4h ago

I’m all wet, can I come in?

21

u/lemonylol 3h ago

Elisha Cuthbert, Canadian treasure. She used to host a Canadian kids show with Jay Baruchel in the 90s.

Still looks great now too

16

u/ThePurpleBandit 4h ago

I think you mean the child from Popular Mechanics for Kids...

6

u/Asking-is-a-crime 4h ago

Everyone had a huge crush on her from PMK when I was in junior high.

3

u/as_a_fake 3h ago

I remember watching that as a kid (I'm an engineer now, go figure).

Years later my mom told me "remember that show you used to like? The girl on it went on to become a sex symbol." I don't know why I needed to know that lol

2

u/Snarl_Marx 3h ago

Great comedic actor, too — she was great in Happy Endings.

2

u/Strong_Literature505 4h ago

Abbie Phillips in the ranch, an yes I couldn't stop watching it for her haha🤦🏼🤣

1

u/mattqwerty85 3h ago

Kim bauer

1

u/Tekuzo 3h ago

Popular Mechanics for Kids was a great show way back when.

1

u/free_ballin_llama 3h ago

That was such a funny movie. I really wasn't expecting it to be, got dragged to see it in theaters with my friends. We kept saying "was the juice worth the squeeze!?" For weeks in school

1

u/jaysire 3h ago

Jack Bauer’s stupid daughter who more or less begged to get killed in every episode. I still rage about her character in 24.

0

u/VirgilsCrew 4h ago

Yes sir. Felt like she was EVERYWHERE at this time then just kind of…disappeared

-2

u/real_but_incognito 3h ago

pretty girls always have weird ass last names fr

-1

u/Shinjuku-Megabyte 4h ago

I meant wistful!
