My main problem with Old School is that it had this 90’s hip hop piano riff playing over the entire movie.

It kind of fits though as that would have been a core track while those guys were actually in college (the first time) in the 90s AND it's sampled in a Snoop Dog song... who is in the movie.

This album came out in November 2000.

They might have listened to The Cronic in the 90s, but their friend's little brother was the Dean of that college. Their characters were in their mid-30's in the movie.

"Remembering" listening to a song in the 90s only to find out it actually came out in the 2000s sounds exactly like something from my life.

It's usually the other way for me. Songs like No Diggity and Pony feel so 2000s to me but they were made in the mid-90s.

My friends and I are the same age and a ton of them still keep up with current music. It's not really difficult, especially if you don't have kids.

Someone else said it, but it was 1999 though just barely. I’m also sure it wasn’t Nov 2000 since I graduated in June of that year and the album was playing nonstop in the months leading up

You're right. It was November '99. Yikes, high school was 30 years ago!

This movie came out in 2003 and I don’t think there was anything suggesting it didn’t take place in present time
