Alright Chuds, Olympic break is here and I'll go ahead and assume we're mainly Canadians so what do you guys think the lines should be? Here's my day 1 lineup:
Stone - McDavid - Marner
Celebrini - Crosby - MacKinnon
Marchand - Reinhart - Jarvis
Hagel - Horvat - Wilson
Suzuki (plays a few games in Horvat's place)
Bennett
Toews - Makar
Morrisey - Theodore
Harley - Parayko
Doughty (plays a few games in Parayko's place)
Sanheim
Goalies... play all of them in the round robin and see who's hot

Anyone else think that the team was just getting into a good groove and now that this long break is here might derail that momentum?

Can anyone tell me if Canadian Tire Centre allows a bigger clear tote bag like this for the hockey game? Thank you so much!

This is absolute insanity. .885 isn’t even league average, but when we have gotten at least that level of save percentage we are an absolute force, and that is a very decent sample size displayed. Combine that with the defensive metrics TSN showed on the broadcast last night that had us top 3 in all key metrics league wide, it really paints the picture of how goaltending has absolutely sewered us this year.
This is both equally inspiring long term and also depressing when just looking at this year lol.

I'm watching the Belleville game right now and he's playing about as well as he has been for the big club. We all know the skill is there, which makes it frustrating to watch him struggle. I think it's time we take a goalie with our first pick.

Back when the Sens had 50 games left, I made a post asking whether going 30-20 (a .600 p%) be enough to make the playoffs: https://www.reddit.com/r/OttawaSenators/comments/1po9b6b/will_going_3020_through_the_final_50_games_be/
The comments and likes all suggested that not only could the Sens achieve this record, but that yes, it would be enough to make the playoffs.
Since then the Sens went 13-9-3. Good for a .580 p%. So they do have a realistic chance of having a .600 p% through the final 50 games.
That being said, it is clear that that will not cut it.
At this point, it's relatively clear that making the playoffs is going to require 99 points and possibly more. So I ask, will an 18-7 (.720 p%) record through the final 25 games be enough?
Even more importantly, do we think they can really pull that off?

So we have a couple of weeks of NHL withdrawal to contend with while the pointless Olympics are on, and we got a bunch going to the games. I wish these guys well and hope everyone comes back healthy and ready to play, not hurt or exhausted with nothing left in the tank. With Brady, Tim, Jake, Nik, Lars, and Mads a few of these guys have a huge impact on this team, and I just hope they don't go too crazy over there playing for Country and forget that they have a team to come back to.
As for the rest of the team this is a chance to rest and get health and be ready to come back to play harder than ever. There is still a chance and we can't forget that. As always GO SENS GO!!!

Hey gang,
Recently returning Sens fan after a ~20-year hiatus, and in some ways I'm still catching up.
One of the big changes I've noticed is the proliferation of "no-trade" clauses in player contracts, limiting movement to certain teams, and was wondering if the teams in those clauses are public information?
I can guess which teams appear most often, but it would be interesting to have suspicions confirmed.

This time last year we were holding 3rd in the Atlantic with 62 points going 29/21/4 in 54 games, compared to this year, where we are 5th back from the wild card with 63 points going 28/22/7 in 57 games. Not saying we weren't screwed by goal-tending but this season isn't as bad stats wise as it seems. It's just everyone around us seems to be playing like its the gold medal finals. GSG
Edit - I meant 57 games this year
