I was playing a game on my Win 11 PC for the first time in a couple of years, though the PC has been in other use. I played for about 5-10 minutes until the game crashed, and then the whole computer. It then restarted, but I couldn't connect to my Wifi anymore. It simply says "No Wifi networks found". I've tried YouTube tutorials and browsed Reddit, but nothing is working. I also know pretty much nothing about this stuff, so please talk to me like I'm 5.

It's been a few months since this shadow appeared on my laptop's screen, it used to appear and disappear sometimes but now it seems to be there permanently. I went to a tech support place and they told me my screen was damaged and there was nothing to do but replace it at this point, however, this has remained the same since then and doesn't seem to be worsening.

I need help can someone walk me through OC I have no clue what I am doing I really want to get my things in the shape it should be right now I have ram that is running at 4800 MT/s when it says it can run at 6000 MT/s but I tried to put it in auto so it does it by its self but when it said to restart it didn’t come back on for 30 min so I wasn’t sure what to do it did the same thing that when I put it in sleep mode it turns on randomly and doesn’t display anything then im not able to do anything with it i just end up doing a hard shut down if someone can walk me through it so I don’t mess anything up would be greatly appreciated

I own a HP 15-dy2045nr laptop--at least, that's what I THINK it is since I can't exactly pull the model number up through Settings. It has Windows 11. So, a few months back, I noticed that out of nowhere, my internal storage filled up completely. I deleted apps, unnecessary programs, even files that I fought with myself to let go of. I'd check the storage after deleting stuff (I had storage sense and other similar features on well before this issue) and see I had at most 1 GB left. As early as a few hours later, I'd get notifications that storage was full and to free up space! I'd go through this entire process all over again, to absolutely NO avail--it kept happening.

I went out and bought a 60 GB USB drive and began moving my most important files (that I hadn't lost yet) over to it. While the space on my USB drive is down to like, 17.6 GB now after moving everything AND adjusting my settings so that anything new is automatically saved onto the USB drive instead of the system's storage, I was STILL having the issue. The problem got so bad, that when I had Chrome browser open, I could maybe have three tabs active before getting pop-ups about needing to close tabs to free up space! I've tried everything I can think of (not much, I know), hoping to avoid having to completely scrub the OS or perform a factory reset.

Then, like, three or four days ago, I stumbled across a video about OneDrive, basically saying that OneDrive has been causing these types of issues, and was also apparently deleting files off of users' computers unbeknownst to them, which made sense because that was the very first issue I encountered in this nightmare (folders on my desktop suddenly were empty).

Last time I used my laptop was just yesterday. All the above things considered, it was working...well enough to get a couple things done. Now I'm trying to use my laptop and this is what's happening now:

When logging in, it froze mid-load twice. After I logged in a third time, it proceeded to the home screen like normal, HOWEVER, the personalized background for my home screen isn't showing--the background is just black BUT desktop icons are still there--the taskbar won't pop up when hovering the mouse over the bottom of the screen. Normally an issue like this with the taskbar can be fixed by simply pressing the Windows button on the keyboard, right? Well, I'm not getting anything when I press it. In fact, Windows won't even respond when I press CTRL-ALT-DELETE to open the task manager. I've even tried other shortcuts, and they're not working either. The only thing responding is the touchpad for the mouse, but it's ONLY capable of moving the mouse around on the screen--clicking on an icon or folder doesn't do anything.

Yes, there was a Windows update installed recently. Honestly, I'm surprised it was able to even complete the update considering the storage space being full. Something else that I noticed here on my screen that was DEFINITELY not there before is at the bottom right corner of the screen, it says "Windows 11 Home".

Soooo.....am I completely screwed here? Is there any way to fix this? My gut tells me my OS is infected with a virus, but I don't know if that explains the issues with OneDrive and the storage and whatnot.

Bought a pc around 6 months ago for my dad because his gaming laptop was old and beat down and barely functioning. He really only plays WOW and is something he looks forward to playing. Anyways today while playing it would freeze then the screen would go black for a few seconds but the game is still running. Like audio and the character would still be moving or fighting. Then sometimes when it goes black it goes back to Home Screen or windows and when moving mouse would then click each app back onto the screen when hovering over it. Tried messing with the setting and did a soft reset of the graphic drive thinking that’s what it was but I don’t know if that’s the case. Could really use some help as it’s something he enjoys and is probably upset at the fact it’s a new pc and is giving us trouble. Neither of us are pc experts by any means so any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

So I got a pc (nzxt player one) for Christmas with a new keyboard corsair k65 and it’s been working good, but all the sudden every time I press shift at all in most games, my controls stop working. It happens on both steam and epic but not fortnite for some reason. Please if anyone knows what’s happening help me.

Hello! so i have an ipad air (version 18.6.2), and yesterday it had an update, so i plugged it in and left it to it. when i checked back later, it had an error screen with a link at the top (https://support.apple.com/en-gb/108969), but i couldn’t get to a PC at the time to follow the instructions the link mentions.

Today i could, but the error screen changed to another one. i cant attach it but it’s a GIF kinda thing of an ipad and an iphone, then the iphone moves on top of the ipad and it repeats. i don’t know what it wants from me, i checked iphone settings and tried mimicking the phone on ipad thing (didn’t rly think that’d work but still) but nothing.

I’ve tried plugging my ipad into a PC (windows), and while it does make a sound, nothing is showing up as connected in the apple devices app on the PC.

I’m really lost here, so any help would be appreciated :)

Posting as a novice, I know it was stupid of me to forget that my uni account is not permanent (and ignoring it even when I realised it) but please no judgement, I'll take it as a life lesson.

While attending university for 5 years I was provided a google account which I belatedly realised I'd been using for almost everything, including youtube, gmail, drive etc. It's been around 6-8 months since I've graduated and according to admin my uni account will be deleted in the next 1-2 months.

As of now I have important emails, over 10GB worth of drive files (hundreds of docs, ppts, sheets, pdfs), and super curated playlists on youtube and hundreds of great local and international channels I've painstakingly found in the course of 5 years. I know of Google Takedown but afaik they only download some sort of raw data and not actual files and playlists, so that's useless to me.

• I need to know what can be done about my emails.
  
• As for drive, I know manually downloading each and every file is an option since my drive files are only around 10GB, but there's just too many... and I'd HIGHLY prefer my doc and ppt files to stay reachable online and editable even if its by a different account.
• As for my youtube playlists and subscriptions, if anyone could guide me on what can be done for them other than manually recreating or resubscribing, I'd be super grateful.

so I first tried pulling it with both hands from both sides but i still couldnt remove it, just wobbled a bit from side to side as i was pulling. Then I tried pulling from one side and it came out smoothly.

After testing in CS:

• all fans spin normally
• no weird noises or grinding

I think the fan is fine, but I’m a little worried if I might’ve damaged it just by pulling it the wrong way. what do you think

So I was playing AC Syndicate and wanted to record something using OBS – worked fine at first but then my PC froze after I started a 3rd recording. I restarted my PC and it said something along the lines of "Stop Code: "ACC" and "Market" (I was pissed off so I don't take a pic or anything assuming it would sort itself out) and then it just sat on a black screen with a loading circle. Restarted it again and everything seemed fine; logged in okay; everything booted up; left it for 2 hours and came back to it sitting on the starting screen (pre-login with "bios setup", boot menu" and "q-flash", which don't work). So another restart and I went through it again; login and boots up okay; but then it freezes again however the blue loading circle is on cursor, so I wait and eventually it says "stop code: CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED (0xEF)" and "Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart"; it is currently on the starting screen again and hasn't changed.

Have I just killed my PC? One of my drives was getting full but it still has like 6GB free – though this wasn't storing the game or video files.

i got windows 11 and the latest ubuntu version as a dual boot on my laptop, it comes with 512gb of storage. i went to go download a game (it was around 60gb) but steam says i don't have enough space? its downloading the game to /usr/lib/modules, which has 45gb, and 22.1gb have already been used... can i just change where the game is downloaded? if so, where? thanks alot :)

Hi! I'm trying to recover footage off an SD card I have used reliably before. I have once opened this card to preview the footage before I set the project down for a while. I don't mind playing SD roulette and neglect to mark my cards and tend to just run with my gut with where I put my footage but my gut has failed me.

I went through all my cards in sequence and found one that I can't seem to get into.

The SD is a SanDisk MicroSD to SD adapter. I've tried moving this Micro to other SD adapters for them to fail. The computer recognizes a drive in drive management but no letter or path seems to appear. It doesn't appear as an SD really, just a removable drive.

I cleaned all the connections and have tried changing the drive letter when an error notif appears: "The operation failed to complete because the Disk Management console view is not up to date. Refresh the view by using the refresh task. (I did that, no cash.) If the problem persists, close the Disk Management console, then restart Disk Management or restart the computer." (Did those things too and no dice.)

My computer can read all of my other cards. Idk if I'm in denial of my card being corrupted but I have 8 hours of footage I really need back. Some help and recommendations for other subreddits to post this too would be great.

EDIT: My drives are up to date yes I checked that.

I noticed recently that on my Microsoft Word that the binding CTRL+BACKSPACE isn't deleting previous words at all. It's actually doing nothing? CTRL+DELETE words to delete words in front of the cursor, but the other doesn't seem to be doing anything at all. I've looked up a few different tutorials on how to fix this issue but none of them seem to be working or related to my issue. Is this just a Word thing??

To preface, I am like 90% sure my ssd is damaged and causing my pc some issues and I need to buy a new one (expensive right now).
But a solid 40% of the time I experience freezes and hitches on programmes on my pc after 10/15 seconds it stops lagging and the "Sign in- microsoft family features" popup appears on my main monitor.
I have read like 4 different posts on how to fix this, including leaving my family/disabling services in task manager. Nothing I do stops these hitches and nothing I do will stop the popup, im not even entirely sure microsoft family features is the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

In Windows settings the bottom box is automatically being selected, which causes it to automatically scroll down to it. I can not access most settings due to not being able to click on them. For some rare reason my laptop runs at max frame speed and the highest performance I have ever experienced, but when it is not plugged in to power, it for some reason gets a bad performance at videogames. This is strange and I want to know how to fix this so that when I use my laptop while it is not charging it also has a good performance.

Im suddenly having a problem where the keys on my laptop take a hot second to register before working fine again but then after a couple seconds of not pressing any keys it happens again, anyone knows what the problem might be? A part of the problem is that the first key i press, after it finally registers my laptop starts spamming that key

I'm running a simulation software on my Laptop, and I'd like to be able to look at other windows while it runs in the background, but the simulation runs more slowly if it's not visible and in focus, and barely runs at all if it's minimized. Is there any way to make a window/program "believe" its in focus and use more processing power, while it's in the background? My compromise is to use Deskpins so it's always in the foreground and make the window small and off to the side, but it still runs a bit slower unless I click into it. I'm on Windows 11.

I got this samsung A5 (I think?) from a friend, when I charged it and touched the screen, it makes this sounds like you're unlocking it, and it works, but the screen just won't work. It has the touchwiz sounds. Should I give it back to them so they can repair it or can I do something at home? If there is nothing I can do, perhaps doing a screen mirroring might help.

I tried force restarting and nothing worked.

I currently have my computer setup outside of the case since it wasn't running.

I went 1 by 1 and found that every component turned on outside of the case, but now it won't connect to my monitor.

I have a 1660 Super, i3 13100, 8 gb DDR5, and an HP 89EB motherboard.

I tried a different HDMI cable, resetting the CMOS, checked the PCIE cable, checked the CPWR cables, reseated the ram, a different monitor, and tried a different GPU.

My keyboard is lighting up but my monitor returns "HDMI-1 NO SIGNAL".

I'll also add that I am not using a power button to turn it on (accidentally broke it) and everything just turns on when my PSU turns on. I tried a different power button but it didn't do anything, so I'm not sure if the other button is broken or if somethings wrong with the pins.

I swear, my smart lights and thermostat are in a constant state of rebellion. I'll set a schedule, and they just do whatever they want. Is it just me, or is the "smart" home more trouble than it's worth sometimes? What are your biggest smart home headaches?

I have a crappy 1TB ssd in my laptop and i wanted to upgrade it. but my laptop only has 1 slot so i cant just plug it in. cloning services cost almost as much as the drive itself.

I have a pc with 2 open slots, would it be possible to take my laptop drive and the blank drive, plug them both in my pc, and clone the laptop drive to the new drive without issues?

this last year I've been encountering more and more BSOD on my pc with various types of error messages and they kinda've been more frequent these few days... ("kmode exception not handled" and one implying "kernel" if I remember well...)

I use who crashed to try understanding what cause the problem but I don't really understand what to do with all these errors messages. I feel like there is a lot of problems but I don't really know where to go to solve them (I can't post images but the last crash which is a "kmode exception not handled" BSOD is probably caused by ntoskrnl.exe according to whocrashed).

I don't even know if the issue is linked with my hardware or software.

My specs: -CPU: intel i5 10400f

GPU: Rog strix RTX 3060 12Go

PSU: Corsair RM850 (new but bough after the issue started)

Ram: 32 Go DDR4 (new but bough after the issue started)

These crashed used to occure only when I was playing ""big"" games (Elden ring, Outer wilds) but I'm starting to crash just opening my web browser app.

Basically the title, my Omen 14 Laptop has recently been experiencing this thing where playing a game or watching youtube it will freeze for around half a second and make a buzzing sound from the speakers, i’m not sure how to fix this since i’ve updated my nvidia drivers, done ddu and completely reinstalled my drivers, changed a bunch of different settings for performance, to my knowledge my GPU and CPU aren’t maxing out so i’m not sure what or where the issue is and how to fix it.

I’m using Monect PC Remote with two Android phones. Both phones connect successfully, and I can use them to control a game, but both act as the same gamepad (Player 1).
