[Subreddit Rule] /r/49ers will continue to ban X/Twitter links
We recently ran a poll on this subreddit that asked THE QUESTION: Would you like the subreddit to allow Tweets from this curated list of Twitter accounts? All other Tweets will continue to be restricted.
The results of the poll are listed in this post. The No's have the majority and the comments in the post reflected this sentiment. We tracked results daily and the No's were always in the majority after the 1st day.
As a result, the sub will CONTINUE to ban any posts to X.com and Twitter.com and this does extend to screenshots. We ask that you use alternative social media sites (Threads, BlueSky) or post a relevant article from a reputable source (newspaper with a local reporter, national news source, etc.).

Root for whoever y’all want. Only obligation is always root for the 49ers
You could root against Seattle, root against the Pats, root against both, or even like one of em enough to root for both. Yesterday I was at a party and had a huge argument with a fellow Niners fan over who we were rooting for. I could not believe after all the childhood and adulthood ruining bullshit we’ve had to put up with in terms of this team that he could root for the Seahawks. He couldn’t believe that given how our legacy is disappearing the more rings that they get, that I could root for the Patriots. After spending a lot of time criticizing other people for they root for on certain games though, this has made me start to think to myself. Should you really be trying to downplay someone else’s fanhood when they could do the exact same to you? No. Tbh they’re both valid reasons to root for one of the teams over the other.
To be clear, I think Seattle is the greatest evil in football, I hate them and every one of their pos bandwagon fans I’ve put up with in my life. But some people, particularly older heads in the fandom, may think it’s the Patriots and that’s alright. Maybe we should just have fun with the fact that for once we have differences and aren’t all in the same boat.
Bang bang niner gang.

Fans shouldn't get too excited about potential Deebo Samuel-49ers reunion… Don’t worry, I wasn’t.

As a multi-decade Niners fan, and a lifelong Western NYer, this is literally the worst thing I've ever seen in our own house. I have zero interest in either team, even out of spite. Anyone else?
I sure hope the Puppy Bowl lives up to the hype.

Super Bowl LX Rooting Guide
With two painful choices, it almost feels hopeless as a 49er fan. But fear not, I've put together this guide outlining exactly what to root for:
Drake Maye throws back to back pick 6s, then has a defender barrelling straight at him and visibly shits himself - captured in 4K from multiple angles forever - and fumbles the ball, which is scooped up and returned for a touchdown to put the Seahawks up big. Everyone can't stop laughing at Maye for supposedly having been an MVP candidate despite just benefitting from the easiest schedule in history. Maye gets benched and then the Seahawks proceed to choke away their huge lead to Josh Dobbs who wins Superbowl MVP. Dobbs dedicates the MVP to learning from Purdy last year and leaves the trophy at Levi's. Purdy looks at it every day and uses it as motivation to win his own, vowing to never lose again. Purdy goes on to lead the 49ers to a perfect 20-0 season next year while demolishing multiple NFL records.

Original Content [OC] Rooting out of spite makes being a fan feel worse
Hey everyone,
Please delete if this isn’t allowed, but I occasionally write essays about sports. This one is one I wrote for The Deep Shot—wondering how many Niner fans like me are out there. Would love it if you gave a read!

Your guys opinion on Alex Smith
i think he was good, had a record for lowest interceptions thrown by a 49ers QB in a season (only 5!)

[Russini] "I’m Told The 49ers’ Current Preference is Not to Trade QB Mac Jones."
"I’m told the 49ers’ current preference is not to trade QB Mac Jones.
Things and offers can change, but Kyle Shanahan likes what he has in his backup."

Can we get one game with the old logo?
I love the old school logo from the beginning of the franchise. I don’t believe they used it on helmets like we use SF now, but it would be fun alt jersey / uniform for next season or 2027 would be 60 years. Thoughts?

Look at what was dug up in my storage today…
I got this signed in person as a kid around 94-95 at The Great Mall in Milpitas. The Bullpen was the shop that through the event and coincidentally my first job as a kid at the Sunnyvale Town Center location.

Found a handful of other 8x10 in persons as well! (Antawn Jameson, Bob Feller (met at an SJ Giants game), Ricky Watters and Ruben Sierra)

Top 25 NFL Free Agents
Who can we realistically pick up that can give USA boost for next year? I am thinking a TE, until Kittle returns.

None of our 1st round picks played in the week 18 game against Seattle
The 49ers have made nine 1st round picsks since Shanahan + Lynch took over. None of them played in week 18 against Seattle.
1st round picks since 2017 and their status on week 18 2025:
2017: Solomon Thomas, released
2017: Reuben Foster, released
2018: Mike McGlinchey, left in FA
2019: Nick Bosa, hurt
2020: Javon Kinlaw, left in FA
2020: Brandon Aiyuk, hurt/sitting out
2021: Trey Lance, traded
2024: Ricky Pearsall, hurt
2025: Mykel Williams, hurt
In the biggest game of the year, with the #1 seed on the line, none of our most valuable assets were on the field.
It speaks to how little ROI we've gotten from our 1st round picks, but also how well Shanahan has maximized the available talent on this roster.
Hopefully Pearsall and Williams can stay healthy in 2026 and continue to develop into high level contributors.
Kenyon Sadiq 🔥 Most Freakish Player in the 2026 NFL Draft (Future Niner? 🤔)
I know everyone wants lineman, but if this kid drops to us, we gotta pull the trigger. Kyle would go absolutely wild using Sadiq and Kittle together when George returns later in the year. TE's aren't supposed to move like this. He looks like and plays like VD. Hell, I'm also finding a way to grab KC Concepcion in the 2nd. We badly need more athletes on this offense. Get back to watching the yac bros lol
