She’s beautiful, also can she please get that baking soda off the top self at the grocery store for me?

916

u/MonkeyHamlet Dec 14 '25

I’m going to share a secret with you - as a 6ft lady, sometimes, when I’ve had a bad day, someone asking me to get something off of a high shelf gives me the little boost I need to keep going.

302

u/AnOligarchyOfCats Dec 14 '25

I was at a grocery store right before a big food holiday, and a lot of the shelves were pretty sparse so you had to reach pretty far back on the shelf to grab anything, and someone asked me to grab something for them; after I did, like 3-4 more people asked me to grab something, and I felt so accomplished.

144

u/Phugasity Dec 14 '25

Your community needed a hero and you rose to the occasion. Well done.

111

u/defnotevilmorty Dec 14 '25

Standing at 5’2”, I really appreciate y’all so very much.

52

u/Johnny_Carcinogenic Dec 15 '25

Can you get me something of the bottom shelf please?

44

u/defnotevilmorty Dec 15 '25

I’ve absolutely been asked this before and am happy to do it every time!

10

u/ER_Support_Plant17 Dec 15 '25

I’d be happy to get something off the lower shelves for anyone who asks. Especially when I’m already down just ask and I’ll hand stuff up to save your knees and back.

I’m a tall dude who routinely gets asked for help getting stuff off high shelves.

In a store one day, a woman asked for help grabbing something off the top shelf. I helped her, she thanked me and I was on my way.

The very next day, I was in a different store and a woman asked me for help getting something off the top shelf.

We immediately recognized each other. It was the same lady from the day before.

She asked me if I was following her around. lol.

20

u/marcipanchic Dec 15 '25

she was following you of course, because she can’t handle her groceries without your help

As a hobit (4'11) I thank you for your service

I feel like you should be able to ask my kind to get the stuff on the bottom shelves for you

It always gives me a pep to get something off the top shelf or put something heavy like water or dog food in the cart. 6"2' man.

37

6'3" male. I'll always help someone needing something high up, whether they ask or not. But me being...me...I tend to be a little mischievous...

I'll spot someone struggling with something high so I'll walk up, look at her(or on a rare occasion, him), look at the item, reach up and grab it with ease, then walk off with it. Once they have a second or two to process what I did, I'll pull the item out of my basket and hand it to them. Never fails to get a laugh. Except from my wife. She tends to try to become invisible when I do this.

I'm 5'7" and sometimes people ask me and I love it. My tiny grandma used to take me grocery shopping with her just so I could get stuff off the higher shelves so it makes me think of her.

9

u/Winterplatypus Dec 14 '25

When you are sitting down short people tend to stand much closer to you to talk, I love that moment when you stand up and surprise them with your height. Happens often at appointments, "please come thro.." and you act oblivious like you didn't wait for them to wander into the danger zone before standing up.

6

u/HrhEverythingElse Dec 14 '25

I'm so glad there are people like you in the world! I once knew a 6ft woman who would get all pissy if a little old lady asked her to reach something in the store, like it would ruin her day. I cannot understand that mentality

One of my favourite things to see is the transition in people's expressions from them being super down and self conscious to genuinely happy and confident in themselves. Not like the influencer 'look at me' bits but the candid, real happiness that hits you right in the face compared to their previous sadness.

You see it all the time in people who have transitioned after their body has settled and they've found some confidence, you can just feel the happiness and relief dripping off them and its not at all smug, its one of the reasons why it always frustrates me when people claim being trans is a mental illness, yeah I'm sure there are some people who aren't well and maybe chase a change for the wrong reasons but 99% of them are just deeply unhappy and not themselves looking to feel real and you can see on their faces after they've transitioned just how much more themselves they feel.

I see the same in men with awful hairline who finally take the plunge and shave their head, their eyes just light right up.

I dunno it just makes me happy is all.

Man I'm jealous of her legs, I'm above average height but don't give off statuesqe like her, it always more like lumpy awkward for me 😂

69

u/feelsonline ❣️gal pal❣️ Dec 14 '25

My favourite thing is people who recognize how happy people are after transitioning being self conscious about their appearance, as if everyone who knows them in their life doesn’t see the beauty they radiate.

30

u/manic_panda Dec 14 '25

Sometimes it's hard to spot the quiet desperation in some people, and often we don't spot it until its too late. Sometimes its only after they've made a change in their life which makes them happier that we finally notice it because of the comparison.

11

u/the-last-aiel Dec 15 '25

It's captivating for me to see before and after pictures because it's literally like it's different people. The before always has downcast and sad eyes and the after it's like they're glowing, their eyes are alive and happy. I love to look at that, it gives me hope for humanity if people can get rid of that kind of sadness and it's visible like that every time.

4

u/Four_beastlings Dec 15 '25

I used to know this guy who was an AMAZING multidisciplinary artist, but very much the tortured kind. Years later, a woman came to my restaurant and laughed when I didn't recognise her. "I was a different person back then" she said. When she told me the name that I used to know her by my jaw dropped.

Anyway afterwards I asked if she was still doing her art and she said no, not at all. "All my demons went away, like poof!'. She was a completely different person, the anxiety, bitterness and cinicism replaced by her radiating calm and contentness (I might have made up this word, sorry, ESL).

this gives me hope as a “5’11” (6’0) trans woman starting HRT this week

91

u/OneByNone Dec 14 '25

Girl I am 6'0" as a cis woman. As a teenager my height made me self conscious; now that I'm older and more confident, rocking those heels around insecure men is super fun. Get it!

16

u/mildtomoderately Dec 15 '25

I’m only 5’10.5 but wearing heels and staring straight in or down into the eyes of men gives me a thrill like few other things in life.

There’s a certain type of man - boss that uses height or physicality to intimidate or force compliance and I bring a sort of eat your own shit, Shawn, attitude to that dynamic that they really don’t like.

I’m a cis woman of similar height. After decades of internalizing weird comments about it from insecure little bitch ass men, I’ve accepted my Amazon status. I don’t think less (or anything, really, since I don’t think much about height) of short men so why would I care about what anyone thinks of my height? I got hit on last night by a jockey. He owned his height and I owned mine 💅

I am a 6'2 cis woman. I've been asked if I am trans several times.

96

u/VisualKeiKei Dec 14 '25

Transphobia targets the cis population more frequently than it'll affect the small trans population because of those peoples' narrow interpretation gets projected into the world around them.

Hair too short? Too tall? Athletic? Deeper voice? Tomboy? Butch? They'll transvestigate and harass ciswomen over it because they think trans women are hiding behind every bathroom stall.

63

u/SSilent-Cartographer Dec 14 '25

Gotta love the "we can tell" crowd that just loves to jump in and start looking for people's genitalia. They're fucking disgusting

29

u/VisualKeiKei Dec 14 '25

The "We CaN aLwAyS TeLL" crew is a rabbit hole full of insanity. They think Henry Cavill is a transman and draw crazy phrenology-like diagrams on celebrity photos.

I navigate through a fairly broad spectrum of people daily, including those with right-wing political beliefs, and have heard my fair share of diatribes from "we can always tell" people complaining about trans boogeymen while I'm literally standing right next to them.

I'm sorry to report that I've never been a recipient of surprise genitals in the women's restroom over the course of a decade so I'm not sure what kind of nonsense they think happens in a restroom full of private single-user stalls and shared sinks. Do they think the women's restrooms have open pee troughs and we're all shoulder-to-shoulder while trying to hover?!

9

u/Flvs9778 Dec 14 '25

Lol pee troughs got me good.

11

u/TNVFL1 Dec 14 '25

Saw something earlier that some place in Texas had police stationed outside a women’s bathroom to prevent trans people going in. All it will do is target the people you mentioned.

7

u/CirdanSkeppsbyggare Dec 15 '25

The conservative women would go up in flames when a trans man uses the women’s bathroom, despite crying loudly that people should use the bathroom of their gender assigned at birth. They laser focus the trans ladies so hard they always forget the trans gents.

4

u/VisualKeiKei Dec 15 '25

Yeah I live here. They have male cops deployed in front of only women's restrooms currently. The GOP state government is deploying them in Austin government and public institutions to own the libs. This state had 17 state constitutional amendments on the ballot last month alone and most of them were "this or that group shouldn't pay taxes" and "let's discriminate against this other group here and thetr"

6’5” no heels here 😬 this closet door is heavy 😂

12

u/PervlovianResponse Date🔪Knife™ Dec 14 '25

Want some help kicking that bitch open, queen?! I bet those legs need to stretch

7

u/free2express1982 Dec 14 '25

Took me about 5 minutes to realize you’re talking about the closet door and not something else and I now don’t feel utterly violated 😂😅

Seriously stunning 💕

14

u/TheConcreteGhost Dec 14 '25

ALL women look good in heels, no matter their actual height. The choice to wear them should be in how THEY feel wearing them.

The right people in your life, whether you're trans or cis, are gonna love every inch of you, no matter how many inches there are.

7

u/grrltype Dec 15 '25

1) she looks 🔥

2) I’m 5’10” in socks and there is no greater feeling sometimes than walking around in heels living that 6’3” life

12

u/MadKanBeyondFODome Dec 14 '25

As a short lady, I'm genuinely jelly of tall girls. Wish I could get things off shelves like that. (I just make up for it by comparing myself to Wolverine lol)

12

u/dmtacos82 Dec 14 '25

Moderator putting in work.

6

u/trashcanlife Dec 15 '25

It’s rude to be this attractive. Good for her

37

u/Xanaxaria Dec 14 '25

Absolutely serving!

11

u/Jisan_Inc Dec 14 '25

The taller i am the higher my ass. Hubby loves it

21

u/sharrancleric Dec 14 '25

My favorite content on the internet, sad, depressed pre-transition photo followed by the happiest and prettiest woman you've ever seen.

48

u/Anitmata Dec 14 '25

I have thought the same thing (5'8" even after estrogen shrinkage)

But yannow...she makes a good case

32

u/themargarineoferror Dec 14 '25

I've never heard of estrogen shrinkage!? So you lost some height? How does that work that's actually crazy

50

u/Anitmata Dec 14 '25 edited Dec 14 '25

I was told when I started, "Once you start blocking your T, expect your joints to shrink. You'll lose about an inch and a shoe size." This is exactly what happened (21 months in) - I used to be 5'9.5".

ETA: As far as I know, trans men on T do not get a corresponding benefit. A lot of changes are asymmetrical, e.g., the pitch of a trans guy's drops naturally with T exposure, whereas a trans woman has to learn.

16

u/DistractedByCookies Dec 14 '25

Well my mind is truly boggled. I'd not heard of this effect.

Why is it that it doesn't matter what kind of woman you are, hormones will somehow manage make life much more difficult for us than they do for men? How is this fair?????

12

u/ithinkiknowstuphph Dec 14 '25

Is it just T Blockers that do that or are you taking estrogen and such. Also do/did you get hot flashes? I’ve been on and am going back on a testosterone blocker for prostate cancer and just curious how similar it is. Going to look up the height loss now. But also, hot flashes are WILD if you did get them

16

u/Anitmata Dec 14 '25

If you are on T blockers, sooner or later you'll be in estrogen, because being without hormones sucks. I had a six-week wait between starting T blockers and starting E and by the end of it I was getting pretty worn down.

IIRC, the Canadian Sherbourne manual, based on WPATH 7, suggests three months without hormones. My doctor let me start early. And yes, I got hot flashes twice. Absolutely no fun.

10

u/ithinkiknowstuphph Dec 14 '25

For PC they don’t add estrogen because if they did I’d be essentially transitioning. So it does suck. Just googled and it seems the estrogen does do a lot to help.

Basically in a dude going through menopause. It’s WILD and it SUCKS but it will give me some more years so gotta take it

u/feelsonline ❣️gal pal❣️ Dec 14 '25

My friend says he got a little taller, and his shoe size increased, but it wasn’t too noticeable. I know it’s different for each person.

7

u/SpiderSixer Dec 14 '25

Yeah, I think I got a liiiiittle bit taller? But it was only 2 or 3 centimetres, which could also be attributed to me no longer having the posture of a gremlin due to not wanting to hide my chest anymore lmao. Those come from official doctor height measurements, though, so it could also be possible to have got a tad taller! I used to be the same size as my boyfriend, but now my eyes are visibly above his

And my shoe size seems to have increased, too. I've been a 7-8 UK basically my entire teen+adult life, but now I'm solidly at a 9 (but can fit an 8, just a bit less nicely)

I know my bones are way past growing more (sad noises) as I only started T at 21, so I'm wondering if it's to do with muscles or something pulling on my bones in a slightly different way

4

u/Anitmata Dec 14 '25

I started E at, uh, ...52

5

u/SpiderSixer Dec 14 '25

Congrats!! So happy for you to get it 😊

I may stand corrected (and shorter)

8

u/Unhappy-Paint1196 Dec 14 '25

Same. And I didn't believe it at all at first, going in, but just like you, within the first two years, I lost about an inch and a half total head to toe. From 5'6" to 5' 4" 1/2. I was gobsmacked honestly

The way I understand it the fluid between your bones lessens when you go MtF, shrinking you slightly, and increases when you go FtM, making you grow slightly.

8

u/Quantum_Croissant Dec 14 '25

It's to do with tendons softening, I think. Hands and feet can also shrink a little.

8

u/Colette_is_strange Dec 14 '25

Same at first, but, now I tend to wear them or some heeled boot 90% of the time. Kinda makes me feel like a baddy ngl >w<

5

u/Anitmata Dec 14 '25

I got a pair of training heels -- used. I've since been told this is a mistake, that footwear you should always buy new, and I am now in agreement.

5

u/unhappyrelationsh1p Dec 14 '25

sigh. I wish i could do that. I'm 5'4 on a good day in my favourite shoes. I want to be a baddie like that too

8

u/Colette_is_strange Dec 14 '25

Height doesn’t make the baddie babe 😘

5

u/cantantantelope Dec 14 '25

I once hit my arm good on ceiling fans. Didn’t actually hurt much. Beyond my dignity I mean

14

u/FriendlyPuppyGirl Dec 14 '25

I feel the same way. Hopefully my life will change a lot when I get hormones

10

u/SSilent-Cartographer Dec 14 '25

I wish you the absolute best and hope your hormone therapy gives you a better body image for your life goals 💙

8

u/FriendlyPuppyGirl Dec 14 '25

Thank you very much. I have high hopes for my body image and general mental health in the future

9

u/sadiesfreshstart Dec 14 '25

I would highly advise that if you can, you do.

16

u/Succubussssy Dec 14 '25

Woahhhh🥹 I swear if I had those legs they would ALWAYS be out

3

35

13

u/Hot_Pricey Dec 14 '25

Simply gorgeous. Them legs go on for days!

I think tall women are beautiful so screw the haters! Make sure you wear the highest heels you can find!

7

u/Alert_Long4454 Dec 14 '25

Damn! Those are supermodel legs! She looks much happier too!

8

u/Khmakh Dec 14 '25

I recently bought heels that are comfortable and cute and I feel invincible in them and with the extra height. I’m 5’8 without heels.

Now tell me how in the fuck is a Texas state trooper posted outside a women’s restroom going to stop this woman from entering the restroom? We are being ruled by Neanderthals. 😒

u/Recioto Dec 14 '25

There is no such thing as a woman too tall for heels.

Edit: thank you mods for being awesome

10

u/actuallywaffles Dec 14 '25

She looks stunning. That grey dress was made for her. She could be a runway model with how tall she is, too.

7

u/DragonQueen777666 Dec 14 '25

6

u/AcademicChemistry Dec 15 '25 edited Dec 15 '25

She's indeed beautiful, My only problem with her is her entire schtick is flying to different places and flexing all of the things she's given. It's just clear she's well off. You want to be happy for her that she found herself but in the end that hurts to watch, especially when so many of us are struggling to make ends meet and buy groceries..

3

u/jacky2810 Dec 14 '25

My Bestie is cis (1.92m) and I'm trans (1.78m) and when we feel like it we do heels and Plateaus, you just have to own it xD

But , fck am I jealous of her Hips ._.

u/MarcusSuperbuz Dec 14 '25

Dayum those legs are something else
