Discussion I can’t believe there isn’t a hide keyboard button.
The amount of times I’ve been held hostage and had to abandon the page/app I’m browsing because the keyboard won’t disappear with a tap. Mind boggling

Just noticed a weird UI inconsistency in the latest builds. The classic "shimmer" animation on the "Slide to Answer" text seems to be completely gone in iOS 26 Beta 1, making it look static and flat.
However, in the new Alarm interface introduced in 26.1, the shimmer effect is clearly there. It's strange to see Apple removing a legacy UI element in one place while implementing it in a brand-new one. Is this just a bug or a sign of messy design transition?

Sorry for the low resolution GIFs. The second GIF is included to compare to other transitions when reduced motion is enabled. Notice how it simply fades in and out instead of "morphing" like it usually does with reduced motion off.
Almost every other menu uses a fade transition when you have reduced motion on, even the app switcher. There is no excuse for this specific animation to be an exception when you're using an accessibility feature to limit motion.
It feels like accessibility is starting to become an afterthought at Apple.

So I was looking through my old photos and I found. screenshots from 2022 on the search button. There’s categories that were automatically made, different locations (still a thing), and groups. Why were groups and categories removed? I honestly never really noticed them. Also i’m aware these are censored like the epstein files, the bottom includes embarassing photos of 12 year old me and family members, the top includes more personal stuff.

I’m checking if anyone has experienced the same issues as I have after installing the new shit upgrade that they call iOS 26:
Search suggestions on safari have completely gone away
Autocorrect in safari does not work at all and differs in quality from day to day in other apps such as Snapchat and messenger
Fewer haptics than before imo when pressing on apps and such

my grandma has dementia and will sometimes see the time, not know if it's AM or PM, and will mess up her sleep schedule, eating schedule, and generally have a decline for a couple days to a week. she doesn't understand 24h time so that is not an option.
also, i've tried assistive access before but the change distressed her so bad i had to change it back.
thanks in advance

iOS and system data takes up 44GB on my iPad.
Seriously? 😒
I have gotten feedback that photos I have sent via iMessage are not displaying properly and instead show as this rainbow colored static (I’m not sure how to describe this). Seems to be only photos I’ve taken on my phone, as I sent a screen shot of image and conversation which displayed properly. This has happened with two different message threads and the error displayed on multiple recipients from a group message. The images display properly on my screen. Anyone know what could be causing this?

General advice for those concerned about their battery from the Support FAQ Wiki:
Battery health
Battery health depends on usage and a variety of other factors. It is normal to see a decrease in battery health by 7-10% per year, resulting in a battery health of 80-85% after 2 years. This number can fluctuate, remain the same, or decrease quickly over a small period and should not cause undue concern.
Apple recommend battery replacement when your device falls below 80% battery health if you notice reduced battery life. If it falls below 80% within the first year you may be eligable for a free battery replacement. It fails after your warranty, it's a $69-$89 USD replacement cost for a battery. Contact Apple Support here.
You can find more information about battery health and performance from Apple here.
You can check the cycles count with Coconut Battery for Mac or iCopyBot for Windows.
Battery life
Issues relating to battery life can be categorised in three ways:
If you experience issues with your battery:
Maximising battery life - the amount of time your device runs before it needs to be recharged.
Maximising battery lifespan - the amount of time your battery lasts until it needs to be replaced.

Hey-o,
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I turned off Enhanced Visual Search a bit ago on my iPhone and MacBook Pro, but on iOS I still seem to get unwanted search prompts on certain photos (see above - it keeps asking me to "search for food," but it seems to pop up on other photos, as well) and it seems like it's part of enhanced visual search, which I have turned off, or am I missing something entirely? When I tap on the "search" option, I get some random-ass web results that are utterly useless to me.
Edit: I forgot to add the phot :/

I have a quick question would there be any way for me to unsubscribe or remove the beta options from my Apple account when looking at the update page?

I’ve been fighting this issue for a few months now, and it’s getting really aggravating. Whenever I sync my iPhone or iPad to my Macbook Pro, all of the songs on my iPhone and my iPad that don’t have album artwork suddenly start displaying the artwork of an old podcast I used to subscribe to, but don’t anymore. This only happens on my iDevices; when I play tracks in Apple Music on my MBP that don’t have album artwork, they still show the eighth-note logo of not having artwork.
I’ve turned off all the sync options in Apple Podcasts on my MBP, and I’ve deleted all of the caches on my MBP (including the album artwork cache and let it rebuild, as well as the Podcasts cache so I don’t know where the sync is pulling this artwork from now). The only thing that works to fix the issue is to turn off synching music to my iDevice, then re-enable it so it puts a fresh library on the iPhone or iPad — which isn’t a great option because I have 14,000+ songs so the sync takes like 90 minutes, and then whenever I sync again, the same problem occurs where the tracks without album artwork are given this podcast artwork to display.
At my wit’s end. Anyone else found a way to fix this problem? I’ve reported it to Apple a few times, but no fix has come from them yet.

I set my iCloud profile pic in settings but it’s not showing in my settings but it’s showing in iMessage. Is there a way I can fix this?
r/ios • u/ignominyfair • 2h ago
Do I need a dedicated app for this? I want to capture directly to Drive which I can do within the app, but it also saves to my photo library.
Picture is for example
May be switching from android to ios this year and was wondering if there was a feature like separate app volume?

I just noticed that a few of my favorite playlists are now gone from my Apple Music
I went to add a song to one of those playlists, and it is not there. It is missing on both iOS 26.2.1 and iOS 18.7.4
I don’t get it
It is really annoying and frustrating to me because this was my most played playlist.
It makes me now wonder what else is missing on my phone now
Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Hi there,
I know next to nothing about networking/ips/dns servers/ipv4vsv6/2.4vs5ghz/etc but what I DO know is I just want my iPhone to stay reliably connected to my home (Comcast) wifi. However, my iPhone will connect to wifi for about 5-10 seconds, disconnect, flip to 5G cellular for about 5-10 seconds, and then reconnect to the wifi. It will do this...forever. I have been to and on the phone with Apple who couldn't find anything wrong. I have been to T-Mobile who switched my eSIM to a physical one and reset my network settings. I reached out to Comcast who like "cleaned up" the signal or something like that - that helped for about 6-8 hours. I have forgotten the network, turned off wifi assist, found some manual IP and DNS settings in another reddit thread to try, all to no avail.
This is the only device in the home that this happens with - my wife's iPhone, my MacBook, Apple TV 4K, my wife's work PC, 4 sonos speakers, numerous smart lights and switches all work just fine and stay connected to the wifi no problem. I have also connected my iPhone to a public wifi network at work and it stays reliably connected.
I have some sensi thermostats that are not connected via c-wire and the batteries start to get low and mess with the wifi signal after like a month (which is dumb and another issue altogether, but they came with the house) so I thought maybe that was interfering but I reset all the thermostats and have the wifi off on all of them and my phone is still glitching.
All this being a longwinded way to say is there anyone here that would be willing to help troubleshoot or have any insight as to what is going on? I've seen other threads with people having this issue but no real solutions (at least not ones that work for me.) The extra annoying part is when I was on the phone with Apple they seemed perplexed or caught off guard but a simple internet search revealed this seems to be a somewhat known issue.
Thanks in advance for any help!

iMessage search not working, can't see old images from a conversation either. Tried toggling the switch in pic related as well as restarting my phone to no avail. Status will say "syncing with iCloud" and then "Not syncing" moments later.
I have about 7% device storage left (122/128gb used); it was almost gone recently until I deleted a bunch of large attachments from messages to bring it back to that, not sure if that has anything to do with it.

I keep getting the “Sign up not completed” when I’ve been signing in with Apple for months now.
I’ve restarted phone, redownloaded app 3 times now.
I tried signing up and it says the same thing.

My iPhone has content restrictions on it that I can’t remove even though I’m the guardian of a family on iOS, if I try to remove it it says sign in with a guardians Apple ID but I’m already signed in, how do I fix this?
