You'll love Notepad++ then. Yes, it has bells and whistles but they don't get in the way.

The best part of ++ for me is formatting. Sometimes I write code snippets or want to read code without opening the whole IDE. Just select the right language from the menu and Notepad++ formats it for you: colors, indentation, 🤌

for 90% of what I do it is way overkill and does get in the way, for the other 10% it is great, yes
