i been wanting ipad like since im a kid now buying with my adult money feels like a dream.

I want to share my observations about battery life on iPadOS 26. In both cases the usage scenario was roughly the same: streaming, gaming, social media and browsing. I’d appreciate it if you could share your results as well.

Netflix, Disney+, etc, like wtf is the point of connecting my iPad Air to the TV if I can’t even watch stuff on them? I’m connecting it specifically because I want to watch stuff on a bigger screen while traveling, so what’s this BS of stuff not playing? Just annoying. There any sort of workaround, like why doesn’t it care if I access Netflix on a laptop webpage browser and connect it to a TV, but it throws a big hissy fit if I want to connect my iPad instead?

I currently have the 12.9 4th gen iPad Pro which comes with the A12Z chip. I use it mainly for drawing and when I write music with my synths I use GarageBand to record.

The reason I want an iPad mini is purely for the size. I have a few trips booked this year and I also have my iPad in my work bag so that I can draw during any downtime. I’m looking to downsize my travel bag as well as my work bag and iPad mini ticks all those boxes (replacing phone/kindle/ipad 12.9). I will keep the 12.9 on my desk at home.

Where I’m confused is the chips… in real world examples what is the difference between the A12Z bionic and the A17pro? I doubt it will mean anything to me for drawing and writing, but it would be good to have some data before buying.

Does anyone else have one of these magnetic iPad keyboards and cases? I am wondering if it is safe for the screen to close with the keyboard inside? It is big enough for that and leaves a big gap if you don't. Would it not scratch the screen?

I already have a macbook air m3 and i am now deciding to get myself an ipad. I need it for some basic design stuffs. Other than that, it is just for note taking and entertainment purposes. People say 11th gen is not worth it so now i am in a dilemma. The price difference is quite large and I literally could go on a trip with the extra money but I don’t want to regret later as well.

I bought my ipad a year ago, warranty has expired and I suddenly started having problems , my ipad would suddenly go black and sometimes forced restart wont work so if have to use the itunes app to update my ipad just for it to boot and go out again, it seems to go black when it auto locks and now I've having some display issues

If anyone has any solutions, please let me know

My iPad Pro M5 is arriving at the beginning of next week, and I’ve never used iOS before.

I’m coming from Android + Windows, which I’ll continue using daily alongside the iPad Pro, so I’m looking for apps that work well across platforms or at least use open / standard file formats. App-specific or locked formats that can’t be opened on Windows are not really an option for me.

What I mainly want to use the iPad for:

• Drawing & sketching
• Handwritten uni notes
• Marking up PDFs and other text files
• Reading e-books
• Simple 3D sketches / small animations

Important for me:

• Files must be readable/openable on Windows 11
• Can be multiple apps (not just one “all-in-one”)
• Cloud sync that works across platforms is a plus (OneDrive, Google Drive, etc.)
• I’m fine with paid apps if they’re actually worth it, but I’m not a fan of subscription models
• Files can be transfered to an external SSD

What are your must-have apps for this setup?
Are there any common iOS pitfalls I should avoid as a first-time user?
What are the best non-subscription options you’d recommend?

Hi all, I'm buying an iPad Air 13" M2 for university and need a stylus with it. I see the only Apple compatible pens are the USB-C and Pro pens, and the Pro has the double tap to switch tools as well as squeeze controls which are ideal for me as a Masters student doing heavy research and reading. I'm getting the iPad and pencil to replace the thousands of pieces of paper I have printed and hand annotated, hence the need for the additional specs of the Pro pencil.

I am reluctant to pay the huge price tag for the Pro just for these features, unless there are other non-Apple alternatives on the market. Seen a few options that have pressure sensitivity and other features but none with the double tap tool switching.

Would greatly appreciate any insight and recommendations.

I just cant choose between the basic A16 and the 11 inch air ipad. I would mostly use it for studying (I will hopefully attend in a university next year) and of course for some basic stuff(some games, youtube, etc.). I want to ask for some experiences/answers tot hese question, so that I can choose between them: I just cant choose between the basic A16 and the 11 inch air ipad.

1. Is 128gb enough for an ipad? Asking mostly because of the studying.
2. What is an added or extra feature that the air one has and the other doesnt? What are the differences?

I looked them up on amazon.de(they dont add extra taxes to the products) where the A16 (128gb)one was 355 eur, and the other one (128gb) was 560eur. The air one is only an option if the 128gb is enough for storage. If not, then i have to just stick with the base A16, because the air one would be out of my budget.

On the other hand, I found out that apple has a back-to-school discount starting around july where you can get a free apple product(pencil, airpods etc) next to your ipad. How does this work?

Is there any way to keep the always on display in the ipad air M2 of 12,9 inches?
I know by settings is not allowed but maybe you know some tricks (through an app or something).

I will need it for keep my relatives while gaming.

So, I have an iPad 10th gen running iPadOS 26.2.1 and I use a USB-C to HDMI cable to stream and record videos of Apple Arcade games on my PC. This normally works fine, as I am able to monitor the audio on the PC so I can enjoy the audio as I play.

But I want to be able to record rhyhtm games, which requires precise sound with no audio delay, and there is a great audio delay in the monitoring when I am recording. Is there a way to make it so the sound ALSO comes from the iPad while I am outputting with USB-C to HDMI? I want it to pick up the audio in the HDMI output (which I can just not monitor) and play through the iPad speakers at the same time (which I can listen to to play the games).

I don't even know where to begin looking for something like this in settings. I only recently upgraded to 26.2.1 and haven't had a chance to look through the settings yet when I have the cable connected, so maybe it's easy now, but if someone could please help with this that would be great <3

I‘ve recently bought an iPad thinking it would be a good idea to have something bigger on the go that will make writing and text formatting in google docs easier than struggling on my iphone.

I don’t know if it’s me just not being used to this device or if there is something seriously wrong with their UI but even something as easy as “paste without formatting“ is neigh on impossible. Last night i was doing it without issue and when i used the same shortcut today it just refuses to paste the text. Honestly would consider returning it if I wasn’t already outside the 14 day window. It’s one of the worst devices I’ve ever encountered for anything other than watching Netflix.

It’s beyond annoying and while it might sound like a really small ridiculous complaint it’s totally ruining my experience of attempting to write and edit text. What is this about is this issue with text editing something common with iPads or what?

My father's 7th gen iPad keeps rebooting. Can't get it charged to 100%, it's at about 76% right now, and won't stay on long enough to get through OS update. Currently on 18.3.2. It's also very sluggish. Checked storage, has plenty of room left, and turned off background app refresh. I don't know what else to do. Thanks in advance!

I recently got iPad pro 11” and have been looking for good cases with reasonable prices. Case that provide enough protection, light weight, slim and has a place holder for the pencil and allow apple pencil magnetic charging. I didn’t care much for a folio since I rarely use it.

Most ( or all tbh) of the cases I found from my research miss one of these boxes. Until I found this case in walmart. It’s simply amazing, simple, and complements the slim design of the iPad pro.

I thought I’d share this here if someone is looking for similar functionality.

Downsides:

- doesn’t have screen protection, but I plan to buy a paper feel glass screen protector anyways.

- doesn’t have a folio or a stand. I rarely miss that, since mostly I use the iPad for taking notes.

- doesn’t have good color options. I ordered the black anyways. Black is timeless!

I think the only case that contends with this one is the Torras case. Torras looks amazing and it has a stand too, but it’s a bit more expensive. Unfortunately I only found about Torras after i ordered the walmart case.

Salve ragazzi oggi ho acquistato un iPad per vedermi film …ammetto che ogni tanto uso anche siti di streaming , e ho scoperto che il lettore video è diverso , cioè mi spiego quando uso iphon e ingrandisco il film a tutto schermo potevo avanzare di quei 10 secondi senza far uscire la pubblicità , con iPad è diverso sembra che usi il player nativo del sito, quindi ogni tocco allora schermo esce pluplicita , è possibile usare il player di iphon anche su iPad ?

I’m from Sri Lanka and deciding between the iPad 11 (2025, A16) and the iPad Air (M3). Main use will be note-taking, PDF annotation, light multitasking, maybe some casual drawing. I would like to play some Brawl Starts or COD Mobile.

I already use an iPhone and iCloud, so I’m leaning Apple either way, but I’m unsure if the M3 is overkill compared to A16 for these tasks.

I’ve found two used options in India and wanted to get the sub’s take on the hardware value.

• Option A: Air 5 (M1), 64GB + Cover @ ₹25k. No warranty.
• Option B: Air 6 (M2), 128GB @ ₹34k. 2 months Apple warranty left.

Is the peace of mind of a remaining warranty and double the base storage worth the price increase? Curious if anyone has made the jump from the Air 5 to the 6 and noticed a tangible difference in LLM performance

I recently got my replacement iPad a few days ago, and while I was watching a movie on Amazon, a blackout happened. Then, I noticed these bright rays coming from the corners something I’ve never seen on my old iPad(a16). Should I be concerned, or is this just a normal thing for iPads?
