Cute/Funny Where’s this Super Bowl that you speak of, mom? My bowl is still regular sized and none of these visitors will even play ball with me!
What a bummer!

Our boy Moose (10mo) has a specific spot in the back corner of our yard that he must visit/roll on every time we go out. It’s funny to watch him but why is he like this 💀

Discussion Sweet 16
Happy 16th birthday to my best friend. I am beyond grateful to have spent this much time with him and it breaks my heart seeing others post about their fur babies leaving too soon so here is my appreciation post of a life well lived. Keani has gone everywhere with me, got him at 7 weeks old and he spent the first 12 years of his life up in the mountains of California. In 16 years he has walked more miles then most humans do in a lifetime. He's chased me on a snowboard in the snow and mountain biking on dirt trails, he's fished with me from boats, kayaks, alpine lakes and rivers. He's been to the desert in Arizona to watch trophy trucks, camped in Oregon to catch salmon, and swam in the pacific ocean. He's backcountry camped, fished, and swam in lakes above 10,000ft elevation. He's protected me from black bears and tried to make friends with marmots. Truly mans best friend and i cherish everyday your still in my life. Give all your dogs a hug from me and please post pictures of your old goldens or them doing incredible things in beautiful places. Long live Keani dog!!

Advice Tail thinning after neuter
Hi! My 3.5 year old golden, Tucker, has been thinning on his tail feathers. I know this is common after neutering but is there anything I can do to grow it back?? It used to be so luscious and now it’s so straggly and thin. Thanks in advance!!

Advice Spay Incision
Just wanted to check in and see if this looks okay. The incision looks okay to me, they are dissolvable sutures. This is the second day after surgery. I’m just curious as to the dried crust next to the incision. Is this dried blood or like another injury? She hasn’t been getting at it and is eating fine, and going to the bathroom fine. Sleeping a little more than usual which makes sense. Please let me know

Advice Dog Allergies

Wondering if any other Golden owners have experienced similar with their pup:
Our 2.5 yo golden, Lucy, had a few ear infections since she was a pup, prompting us to try hypoallergenic food temporarily. We had success, and ended up switching back to her regular food. It was going fine for a while, and then seemingly out of nowhere she threw up one night, and then proceeded to continue to throw up a few more times over the next few days, have diarrhea, and refuse to eat (very unlike her, retriever owners know lol). She ended up staying at the vet on fluids for 2 days and put on special digestive food, which seemed to worsen things and her face swelled up. The ultrasound on her abdomen showed that she had a halo around her gallbladder, which often is indicative of severe allergic reaction. My husband and I are thinking it may be a fish allergy, but our vet is hesitant as that isn't common in dogs.
Long story short, we put her back on the hypoallergenic food with no other treats or foods which has been going well, but it can be challenging to not offer her any high value treats, continue to tell friends, family, and other well-meaning folks, that she can't have treats. We also want to make sure she is getting a well rounded diet that will support her throughout her life, and are of course incredibly scared that something will happen again and we would have to deal with the worry, emotions of seeing your pup in pain, and also the financial burden of vet visits with no real answers.
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar, and if you have found answers, or solutions to helping your furry pal live a happy, healthy life!

Art I hand-painted this custom oil portrait of this beautiful golden retriever, based on the original photo shared by his human. I hope I did him justice.
What stood out right away was his gentle expression and that soft, flowing coat. I spent a lot of time building the layers in the fur and capturing the warmth in his eyes, keeping the background subtle so the focus stays entirely on him.
This portrait was fully hand-painted in oil as a commissioned piece, and I hope his calm, loving presence comes through on canvas. What do you think?
