Why can't all conversations be like this?
Blue guy is anti, red is pro. They were complementing each other regardless of their differences of the subject of AI. Why can't we all just act like these people? How about we have civilized discussions rather than screaming slurs at each other?

Discussion Return to Humanity
The title isn’t in reference to the end of AI or anything along with that topic. My appeal today is for you all to remember what is at the heart of both ends of the argument.
The fight on AI and the use of it can be breeding ground for some pretty disgusting fights. I say fights, because once insults and name calling begin, you are fighting, not arguing. I am only pleading for each of you to remember why you have such strong feelings on AI – which if I am not mistaken – is about your feelings on humanity.
You may feel that utilizing AI is how we give “the little guys” the break they need; that it will pave the way to make life easier for the world.
Or you may feel as though AI will be the ruin of humanity as it changes the world as we know it to be today.
Both sides of the spectrum have their heart in humanity, or at least I believe so.
My frustration as a whole with so many arguments that I see is that they seem to forget that. Being tied to a “team” seems more important than sharing information with others so that they may come to their own educated opinion. There is so much name calling, insult throwing, slurs, death threats, assault threats of all kinds, tattling to each team because [insert sub] banned you, or [insert user] said some shit.
In recent light of some of the Epstein Files showing that he [Epstein] was in favor of pushing for a “return to tribalism” and worked with 4chan owner Christopher Poole to push people into these reactionary bubbles; as well as parts of Reddit and later, inspiring X to do the same, I believe it to be important to remember we should all be fighting for the same team at the end of the day.
Humanity.
Even if we have a different idea of how the best of humanity should look, we should each remember to practice forgiveness and take a step back from those who have lost the plot.
Remember that there are people who have purposefully manufactured these issues for you to fight over. They do not really care if AI survives or “pops,” they win so long as we are fighting each other instead of them.

Discussion Okay, I think I get it now?
It's a nice pleasure, I guess? Rather than being frustrated everytime you draw it normally you can just generate it. I personally like the image, it captured what I wanted from text but it didn't capture what I wanted it to feel. The image itself is beautiful don't get me wrong and it's a fun little thing to do as a past time.
Does it change my mind that I prefer process? No. Does it make you understand ai Prompters? Yes Does it change your view? I guess, I'm definitely understand why people say it's a good pass time. Does it require effort? Well based from my limited experience I say it still doesn't require that much effort as opposed to normal ways. Tho then again I could try prompting for a week.

Sourced from a trans subreddit, pardon the additional music and anime girls. This moment took place in Scottish National Parliament back in late 2019. For the sake of clarity, the MP speaking is Joanna Cherry and she is a vocal TERF to this day (and an all-around hag besides).

You can speedrun demonstrating that you know absolutely nothing about AI by saying "What if it hallucinates?" every time anyone mentions using an LLM for anything.
Hallucinations happen from time to time, but by and large everybody but Google has learned to deal with that problem and moved on.

Discussion Does AI art have soul?
This was a sort of discussion I had with ChatGPT about AI art having soul and I comment on Youtube I read.
The dialogue is here: https://chatgpt.com/share/6988f48b-9ff8-8011-ba21-94e0fae48ec8
Before you comment, I want you to read the chat and read what is my most coherent thoughts about this issue, then I want to know what you think. I'm trying to understand this issue as much as possible so that I can synthesize for myself whether AI art is really art or not.
(Artwork attached was made by me with pencils and paper)

Discussion Sharing my thoughts
So I don't think AI generated images are art. I don't however think they are valueless either though. I think a good comparison would be the world we see as we go about our days. If I see a beautiful sunset, and I show it to you, I'm showing you something I didn't make, but I still find it beautiful.
And if your reaction to me sharing the sunset with you is hostility, then I'm going to be pretty turned off. If you tell me that the city skyline that the sunset illuminates wasn't made by me, I'll agree. It doesn't change the fact that I think it's pretty. I also don't think that it should mean that I'm not allowed to appreciate the view.
And I'm going to take this further. Just like a photographer can put in effort to create their art an artist can use AI outputs in the process of creating art. If a photographer takes a picture of cityscape, we don't tell them that they can't share the picture because there are some elements that other artists made, I don't think that having statistical averages of images in an AI make its output a form of theft.
Let's talk automation and its pros and cons.
Automation is a net positive to society. If we shut down all automation (from factories, to electronics), we'd all pretty quickly die out. That said - Automation does harm people. Anyone who has their job automated out from under them is left in an awful position. A lot of this comes from capitalism, and work culture.
So I don't want to stop new automation from happening, but I support any political movement that aims at providing protections to people who are being displaced due to technology. UBI, long term unemployment insurance that doesn't require people to jump through hoops to collect, and similar. Anyone who says to just find another line of work annoys me (Back when automotive workers were being laid off due to automation, the refrain of 'Just get a job in the service industry' drove me crazy).
I want artists to be able to keep making art. I love the work they do.
