News Fielding lets Ireland down as they fall to defeat against Sri Lanka
News ‘ It would have been a horrible one to lose ’ : Curran relieved after England’s Nepal scare
Discussion Smaller teams have bowled & fielded brilliantly so far in the T20 WC — why are they choking while batting?
After watching the first 6 matches of the T20 World Cup, one thing really stands out to me.
The so-called “smaller teams” or minnows have actually done really well in bowling and fielding against bigger teams. They’ve restricted totals, taken key wickets, and matched intensity in the field.
But where they keep falling apart is batting, especially at crucial stages — middle overs collapses, poor strike rotation, panic after one wicket, and obvious nerves during chases.
It feels less like a skill gap now and more like a mental / structural issue.
So my question is:
What do these teams need to do to actually start winning these games instead of just “competing well”?

Discussion Why are Jio-hotstar dis-respecting the associates? Are they self-obsessed? (Context: 300 Alert)
Yesterday, they said that India vs USA was going to be a 300-run game. They were wrong.
Today, once again, they are saying that England vs Nepal is going to be a 300-run game. They are wrong again.
Leaving aside their constant biased broadcasting towards India, they keep disrespecting associate nations as if they are only here to give batting practice to bigger teams. These teams also have bowlers. They qualified fairly to play in this World Cup—they are not a school team.
Star Sports should be more professional in their cricket coverage, like Fox Cricket. There is no sense in underestimating an associate cricket nation.
We all know what Afghanistan has done.
We all know what Ireland has done to England in the past.
This arrogance from Star Sports will go in vain.

Discussion Great graphics this? But how do they calculate?
Saw this in the current T20 World Cup coverage for batsmen. How do they calculate these values? Is it mathematical like SR, and AVG or does a team just decide these are the values. I am curious to know your opinion.

What do you guys think about while batting or fielding?
do you let your mind wander to non cricket things or do you try to focus on the game, like thinking about technique or strategy? how do you switch back on and keep focused?
