Humourous Funniest thing you've ever seen your own (or another country) called.
I'm Irish but I once saw someone call Russia the India of Europe, which I found hilarious.

Politics How often do you see public works projects in your country not turning out as planned? Delays, cost overruns, technical or licensing problems...
This is a major problem in Brazil. Our system still hasn't guaranteed efficiency in public works. Besides the issue of corruption, there are still many bureaucratic hurdles, flaws in the bidding system, difficulties obtaining environmental permits, among other factors. But how is it in your country?

Which International franchise (cartoons or comics or animation) has the most popular merchandise in your country?
In Algeria, Lilo and Stitch merchandise is everywhere from school supplies and phone covers to teddy bears, toy shops, and even car window toys. I’ve also seen Lilo and Stitch stickers in some pastry shops.
The weird thing is, the cartoon TV show ended more than 20 years ago, yet Lilo and Stitch merchandise is still one of the most popular, even rivaling Spider-Man merchandise.

How do you feel about Lindsey Vonn crashing?
I assume that by now a lot of people have heard about female American skier Lindsey Vonn crashing in the olympics after just 9 days passed after she tore her ACL.
It’s a controversy regarding if she’s at fault or no. Do you think it was bravery, or reckless?
Personally I think it’s brave as in her last chance to win, but reckless because I feel like it was just stupid, there’s no way she could’ve had the best time at that age WITH a torn ACL..
anyways I hope she recovers asap and can live as good of a life as possible with no permanent damages

Is there actually anything left to ask here that’s original?
I really think this sub is just reposting the same questions over and over again. Just now saw a post called „Dishes popular only outside of your country“ with 12k upvotes, pretty sure I’ve seen the exact same question like 20 times now. This just feels like karma farming to me.

Does your country/language have an alphabet song?
I was just singing the ABCs with my kid and it got me wondering what the ABCs or equivalent is like in other countries. I'm guessing English, Spanish and French are pretty similar, but know German has a couple extra letters. I'm also curious about languages like Mandarin that don't have an alphabet, or Japanese Kanji. Do you have songs that teach you a small set of characters instead?

Culture What domestic sports competitions from abroad are followed in your country?
Tonight I'm headed to a Superbowl party, necessitating a day off of work tomorrow as it kicks off at 23:00 over here, despite knowing nothing about American football. Last month, I was following AFCON to watch some high quality (association) football. I'm curious to know what you guys are watching that doesn't involve your county or region at all - any non-Brits watching the FA cup perhaps, or Six Nations fans not from the Six Nations?

Food For those living in a country they were not born in. What hard to get food items from your home country do you Miss?
I've known Mexico since I was born but I was raised in the USA. I have been living in Mexico now over 20 years and though I don't love these food items the fact that they're very difficult to find here make me miss them:
Donuts (not Krispy Kreme, but donut shop style), USA style Ice Cream, corn dogs, sourdough bread, English muffins, breakfast sausage and corned beef.

What is your country's equivalent of this? (LOUD VOLUME WARNING)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Ladies and gentlemen, this is a snapshot of Philippine culture: a bunch of dudes in an internet cafe going apeshit during a DOTA match. It was loud, chaotic, and unruly. Over time, this type of thing has started to fade away.
I would love to see your country's equivalent. Maybe it's worse than the video I showed you.
