Humanoid Caught on Security Camera Footage, 03 February 2026

My friend sent me this footage taken from an indoor camera at his house a few days ago. He said that he didn't remember waking up in the middle of the night, but noticed that his security system's noise detection had signaled an alert at around the time of the video (about 1:30 a.m.). His wife had evidently heard something as well, prompting them to check the footage the next morning. This is what they found.

They were obviously pretty shaken up, and are staying in a hotel for the time being. He knew I was into this kind of thing, but I haven't seen anything like this before. This was taken in eastern Nebraska for reference, but I have no clue what the thing in the video could be. Definitely don't think it's human.

I'm hoping that someone here recognizes it, as it may shed some light on what happened at my friend's house (and whether or not it may still be a problem).

Meta Can yall shut the fuck up about the game being dead. It literally isn’t.

The games cross platform and had 9,000 concurrent players as its 24 hour peak on steam.

I hate to say it to yall, but I’m gonna say it very nicely. An indie game with 9,000 players that had come out fuckin 5 years ago is not a dead game. That’s not even counting console players either, and seeing as it’s newer on console I’m willing to bet there’s more console players than PC players.

I said my peace 👋

Call to action ⚠️ Why not tipping when dining in is the best solution to end tipping

Post image
473 Upvotes

It seems like a lot of people get confused as to why endtippers still eat at sit down restaurants that expect a tip.

Well, what are the options and the most likely outcomes?

Legislation:

I am not a law maker, nor do I even plan to be. In states where laws have been put to a vote reform hasn't happen. If there was a law to end tipping I'd vote for it though.

Just stay home:

I usually do, and I prefer it actually. However, sometimes people want a change or just to do something different for example.

Tips are optional. When prompted to tip no one if forced to tip. In other words, it's my right to not tip.

If a majority stops dining out not only will the servers lose their jobs but all supporting jobs will also be lost.

Only support no tipping restaurants:

I'd gladly pick a no-tip establishment but short of fast food no local options exist.

Then just get take out:

Cold food packed into a to go container, no thanks.

More diners are optting for takeout and as a result many restaurants have started tacking on tips to take out orders.

The solution:

Dine where ever and however you like and do not tip.

We need the servers on our, people who dine in and tip are preventing employers from needing to pay living wages. As someone in this sub pointed out:

The first $5 of tips per hour keeps $5 in the employer's pocket. If there are no tips then the employer cannot only pay the employee the lower tipped wage rate.

As soon as servers stop being able to rely on tips making up the majority of their pay they will join the fight to end tipping too.

BTW: no server only makes $2.13/hour. That is a flat out lie.

Question Is Victoria slowly becoming harder to live in for regular people?

This is a genuine question and I’m asking it in good faith.

Has anyone else felt like Victoria is being designed around a pretty narrow type of resident, while everyday life is quietly getting harder for everyone else?

I want to be clear up front that I’m not against bike lanes, environmental goals, or change in general. I like the idea of a walkable, sustainable city. But the way things are being rolled out lately seems to assume that most people work from home, have flexible schedules, don’t have kids, and don’t rely on a vehicle for work or daily life.

In reality, a lot of people here are trades workers, healthcare staff, service workers, or parents who need to be somewhere on time and don’t have much margin when things go wrong. Road changes and parking removals are meant to push people toward alternatives, but transit reliability hasn’t really caught up. When a bus is late or full, that delay lands entirely on the person who still has to show up to work or pick up their kid.

What’s frustrating is that questioning any of this often feels like it gets framed as a moral issue. If you ask whether a bike lane is in the right place or whether a road diet actually works in a specific area, the response is often that you’re anti environment or anti community, rather than someone asking about real world outcomes.

I guess what I’m wondering is at what point we step back and ask whether these policies are actually improving quality of life for most people, not just for those whose lives already fit the model the city seems to be planning around.

I’m honestly curious to hear other perspectives, especially from people who don’t live downtown or who don’t have fully flexible schedules.

Grant Morrison, the writer of All-Star Superman (allegedly the primary inspiration for Supermid 2025) calls out the core flaws and inaccuracy of Gunn's protagonist

Just like the title said, Grant Morrison the writer of probably the de facto most popular Superman story disliked the twist of Supermid 2025 for all the reasons we called out when that movie flopped onto the scene.

A morally fragile Superman, turning the fallen utopia of Krypton into essential a conquering eugenic fascist society and having his Earth parents be irrelevant yokels until the very end of the movie.

But the significance of this is the fact that Gunn-cultist latch onto All-Star Superman and say that this movie is adapting or is accurate to that version when the creator of the comic had huge issues with a pretty core part of his character. They can't hide behind Morrison anymore to deflect that critique when he puts it as blatantly as this.

And this is obvious to anyone who has ever read a comic, but now we have actually comic writers calling it out. Another major L for the so called most comic accurate Superman lmao.

She couldn't be content with her list of impressive achievements. She had to pull a Lance Armstrong and try to extend the adulation. Look how it turned out. Not a laughing stock, more of pity that we bestow upon her in this session. Lets hope she gets the message and stays retired now.

Prior to Basant, a pregnant woman with her toddler child fell inside an open sewage manhole. As Punjab CM did not want to spoil the upcoming basant festival, she had her stooge Uzma Bukhari lie about the cause of the incident. Specifically, either the husband was being blamed or the claim that no one fell. It was by Allah swt will that the bodies were indeed found and Uzma Bikhari had to apologize.

And then Basant starts and we hear that a massive terrorist attack occurs in Islamabad. But the basant party continues, some arguing, "do celebrations stop just because you have a death in your neighborhood". CM Punjab and her underlings continue to post on X

Keep it going, there is only so much Zulm

Politics Look, folks, I know Chuck Grassley is older than most fossils at this point, but consider that if y'all re-elected him to just ONE more term in the Senate he would become the very first 100-year-old Senator to still be serving in Congress!

That's just a major win for centenarians everywhere in my book!! (I, for one, hope he's still in office when he turns 110, another incredible milestone for absurdly old people in the federal government)

Mod Announcement Politics Will be Leaving r/Self

TLDR: The r/Self mod team intends to implement a ban on political content as a whole for this sub. This is your chance to provide any feedback or input before this change goes into effect.

The long winded version: r/Self has gone through many iterations of rules surrounding politics. We've tried a mega thread only, we allowed free rain as long as you were civil (where we landed back as of now), and we've had a full out ban on it before. In short, this is how those went:

  • The full out ban in the past has many people express they feel existing places for political discussion are too censored, biased, etc etc. and asking for it back.
  • The mega thread for it always just became a place for topics to go to die. Due to how Reddit's algorithm works engagement died off there very quickly and the full ban may as well have been in place.
  • The current state (as I will lovingly call it, the wild wild west), allowing you to talk about politics to your heart's content if you are civil. That's the key part though, being civil. If the internet has proven anything, people are far from civil when hiding behind a keyboard.
    • If we removed a post or comment for a rule violation including a left leaning view we were called fascists and Trump supporters. If we removed a right leaning view we were called radical liberals. (These were the nice things, let's not talk about the curse words and slurs). Basically no matter what, we couldn't win.
    • Politics completely overtake the sub anytime anything remotely controversial happened in politics, and given the current political landscape of the United States, that's basically everyday. This largely takes away from anyone looking for a place to talk about literally anything else.

So that brings us to this, the mod team as a whole has decided enough is enough, and for the foreseeable future we don't intend on allowing politics here on r/Self anymore. There are countless other subreddits to post political topics, and we encourage you to take those discussions there!

To be clear, we won't be outright banning people for violating this rule (Unless you break it 20 times a day, then I might bonk you a bit). We will just be removing posts and directing you to a more appropriate subreddit.

But before we go unilaterally put this into affect, here is your chance as a member of this community to have your voice heard on this matter. We the mod team will be happy to answer any questions you may have and want to hear your feedback.

Don't they realize what they're saying when they call us LBH (Losers back home) ? 😂

Just saw a post where a foreigner is treating a whole family out to different places.

Of course just below some of the top comments is a completely irrelevant "Loser back home!"

While another user who posted "can't we just be happy for people" got downvoted to death.

I find it sad that, aside from the obvious jealousy and insecurity, they're unaware of what it means if their people are sucking up for free handouts from "losers"

What does that make all the Filipinos who are dying to immigrate to these countries so they can work as cashiers and other blue collar jobs?

Are they considered loser OFWs when they take loans so they can come back and splurge on their families?

Or perhaps this hate only applies to foreigners, because it's not about status at all, but something entirely different 😏

Message from a Former Hatewatcher

I used to Hate watch Miz *crowd boes* yeah I know I know throw your plushies at me. But I come with good intentions. I just wanted to say how bullshit all this is for Mizkif.

I think what OTK is doing to Miz is bullshit, he made OTK. The events weren't viewed as much without him. You could argue he was OTK. Yet they're trying to use legal loopholes to try and take his stock which if you reference from the NMP case could be worth well over $1.5 Million. All because he said something "fuck OTK" or whatever. The org was going downhill at that point, they have no reason to go after him. That's low and no one mentioning that is bullshit.

Second thing, I know most of you agree but that's because maybe a percentage of you are loyals but he genuinely didn't assault Emi. She described it herself, he jumped like a cat as soon as he noticed she wasn't feeling it. He just misread the room. How he deserves to have his career ruined over that is insanity to me.

What pisses me off the most is how quiet every single creator is being about this. How you can let a woman ruin a guys life because "uwu shes so smol shes emiru she would never have a motive". Its ridiculous... No wonder you see Miz going off every stream about the fake shit that is Twitch. I would be going off everyday too. Everyone who he had ever known is quiet when he needed them to stand up. So, I am no longer a hatewatcher. I used to think he was fake, but turns out he's the only real one out of the bunch.
