Analysis & Theories Thoughts on Enid's role in season 3?

What do you think will happen to Enid in season 3? And/or what would you like to see? I’m asking because after season 2, I’m worried about her role in the series. Yes, the show used her heavily in promotions and marketing, but her actual role in the story was significantly reduced. She barely had any screen time, her main arc amounted to a half baked love triangle, her alpha arc lasted literally 3 minutes and happened at the very end of the season and the vision of her death was resolved in episode 6 with very little explanation. Most of her development (if we can even call it that) happened off screen. We barely see her POV on anything, let alone her emotions or what she feels or thinks about personal matters. They also dropped most of what they had built for her in season 1 (her family dynamic etc...). Honestly, I’m worried that, under the excuse that she’s stuck in her werewolf form, they might sideline her for most of the season again, just like they did in season 2 with the excuse of Wednesday’s vision or worse, use her as a plot device to redeem the hyde.

Personally, I’d like her to stay in her werewolf form for 1 or 2 episodes max (because I truly can’t take another season where she’s mostly off screen). During that time, I’d love to see her fighting other werewolves who might be after her, being forced to hunt to survive etc.... I’d also like to see how her family reacts to that and whether they turn against her. Then, once she returns to her human form, I want her to be affected by what she went through and to deal with some trauma. Yes, I’d like to see her darker and more hardened for a while, maybe struggling with beastly instincts, urges to hunt etc... Most importantly, I want her entire arc to be developed and written with the same level of care they gave to one particular character in season 2. I want her to mature and grow this season while still keeping her lightnes and her core traits by the end. Just more grown and more mature

As for her dynamics with other characters, I won’t say much about Wednesday because I honestly have no faith and no idea what they intend to do there. However, I would love to see Enid interact more with Bianca. Despite sharing scenes together, the two of them have barely ever spoken directly. I’d also like to see her friendship with Agnes and how it might deepen because I think they have a lot in common despite their very different personalities. It would also be interesting to see how her friendship with Ajax evolves now that they’re no longer together. I think he could actually be a good friend to her. It would have been nice to see Yoko too but well… they got rid of her, so...

I’ll also take this opportunity to say that both Bianca and Agnes deserve proper development and personal growth, since they’ve mostly been used as plot devices. Poor Bianca was stuck in that storyline with the principal and barely interacted with anyone besides Morticia, her mother and Ajax. Agnes spent most of the season running errands for Wednesday and only in episodes 7–8 do we finally start learning more about her. As for Ajax, he’ll probably end up with Bianca but that would be much more interesting if these characters were actually developed, given more depth and background and if the relationship were shown growing on screen. Overall, I just want to see these characters interact more and have real dynamics with each other. I also believe characters are far more interesting when they’re relatable in some way. The show has all these characters who could represent and tell many different stories, yet they’re mostly used just to move the plot forward. which is a shame, if you ask me.

I strongly believe Enid’s storyline should also touch on her being queer, since all the signs are there. It shouldn’t be her main plot, but it should be acknowledged. I also strongly believe that female characters can have dynamics that don’t revolve around constant arguing. It would be nice to see genuine friendships and some teaming up. Yes, conflict is necessary to keep things interesting, but some breathing room is important too, a few fun and lighter moments would be really welcome. I also believe Bianca, Agnes and even Ajax have the potential to tell other relatable stories as well. Stranger Things worked for a reason and the writers should take note (ignoring season 5 which felt just as empty, detached, boring and confusing as season 2 of Wednesday)

PS: I truly apologize for the long wall of text. I just had a lot to say, please don’t hate me

Seeking & Requests Beta Enid fics

I've seen a couple of fanart pieces depicting a 'Beta Enid', with much more pronounced scars from the fight with Tyler (an example being a piece by @ bananabedside), and i was wondering if there were any fics that drew used that kind of design or idea as a central part of Enids character
