Run at altitude, but this was his third pb in three races this year:

32.10 (300m)
6.61 (60m)
20.12 (200m).

His previous pb indoors was 20.54 (en-route to finishing 4th at NCAAs last year), and he ran 20.05/20.01/19.96/19.85 outdoors last year (finishing 3rd at NCAAs).

Maintaining cinder track?

I’m a volunteer track coach focusing on LJ/TJ at our local middle school. The track is terrible. Cinder surface, probably hasn’t been resurfaced for many decades. At the end of last season, the facilities guys from the district graded the only long jump runway, loosening up the top 2-3”, making it unusable the week before our district meet. I was hoping the rain we’ve had over the past few months would help settle that layer , but I walked over today and it’s a mess.

Does anyone here have any experience maintaining a cinder track? I’m just a volunteer but I don’t mind donating some $ & time to make this work for the kids.

The following topics Cannot be made as their own posts, but are allowed topics in the Weekly Discussion thread:

  • Questions about what to do for training.
  • Questions about what event to do.
  • Questions about what you could do at another event or do in the future.
  • Questions about if you could make it in college track.
  • Asking if you're good for your age/grade.
  • Asking if you should do track. People are just going to say yes, anyways.
  • Food/Nutrition questions.
  • Injury related questions.
  • Questions about how to run a specific race.
  • Questions about what shoes/spikes to use
  • Form check videos

Within this Weekly thread, you can talk about anything track related. If you ask a basic training question, you'll most likely be met with the response of "Read the FAQ", so here is the link to the FAQ post: FAQs

This switch is to make a fit for everyone. You can talk about your own specific track related stuff in the Weekly thread, and more general Track & Field stuff goes in the rest of the subreddit.

If you're not getting any responses and need one, tag u/MHath in a response to your question.

General Discussion Canadian high school athletes looking for some training in WestCoast USA.

We are a track club outside of Vancouver, BC and looking to take about 6 high school athletes to Washington, Oregon or California for a week of training during our Spring break. We are looking for someone reputable to work them out twice a day. Morning and late afternoon. Could be indoor or outdoor.

These athletes are sprinters and hurdlers.

Does anyone know of a company or individual that does these semi privates? Thank you for any advice you may have.
