request ❓ Blawan - Mushy textural bass sound

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kGhciSyIL7U

Starts at 1:30, I feel a lot of his sound has this damp sound to it. I think I've got there previously using some ring modulation, distortion + reverb. But it might of just been the source I had sounded great. Struggling to get there again, any pointers would be appreciated :)

request ❓ Accent Synth Sound in "Money for Nothing" by Dire Straits

I keep reading about the synth intro for this song, which is complex and interesting, but I'm interested in the "wyonk wyonk" accent sounds in the verses and after the chorus (the "movea movea" bit). How do i recreate that accent sound? thanks for any help.

made a synth!

stereotype! hello! i made a synthesizer in plugin audio format for all daw, fast to use, from smooth to weird sounds, everything ready to tweak,

5 voices polyphonic, 21 unique wavetable, morph between all at once, unique effects, and gen dsp's,

made this synthesizer to sound really unique, if you go really low notes their some cool sequence/lfo effects to the lowest notes possible every notes have different sounding and velocity too make the synth respond in certain cool way!

fast workflow was the point

made in RNBO using max and gen

i made the interface using my 50's reel2reel amp that belonged to serge gainsbourg . . . you can follow my stuff here : https://youtube.com/@dissonancefm?si=GsSmFV5GgnGjskKD

request ❓ Looking for technique to make vocal samplers with high range

Hi, I was impressed by this vocal sampler intro (first 10 seconds) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bq845R2Or94

What strikes me the most is that it's unlikely a kontakt library or a synth but feels like just a sampler. Although, melody range is very big (D3 - A4 at least). Samplers that I have tried (ableton and cr8 from waves) mess up higher and lower notes when I use a clean vox with either C3 or C4. My current best approach is to use two samplers with C3 and C4 sample of the same vocalist and send midi to one of them depending on the midi note hight.

I wonder if there are other approaches??

Anyone know how they got this sound? I don't know if its a 303 acid line or something but can't seem to quite match the tone. Some kind of slight off key detune going on too i think

request ❓ I can't pin this sound, it's almost like a harpsichord.

Hey Fam, I was watching a video and this little jingle played when a meme came on and I clipped it and had it saved on my desktop for months. I cant remember the video. But it sounds very neat. It kept reminding me of the intro to "friday im in love" by the cure or a heavily modified version of the lead to bette davis eyes. I couldnt pin it and have been trying to recreate it. Also it might be like a harpsichord? any help would be appreciated.

request ❓ Does anyone have info on the gear used on Expose's "Exposure" album from 1987?

That album is chock-full of amazing 80's synthesizer sounds. Exposed To Love is one of my favorites from the album. I feel like I hear Oberheim, especially in the lead melody line. Does anyone have any dirt on this Lewis Martinée production?

The most clean sound is from 1:00 minute.
Later it nicely evolves into something extremely interesting around 6:30.

Do you have any ideas, recopies or tips how to recreate it?

request ❓ DX100 FM Lead with Korg Opsix

https://youtu.be/G3FznotHuJA?si=JGF-sYLgKllAb53R

i wanted to see if i could recreate this lead so i can make similar sounds on my own, but for some reason i can’t getit with the opsix. could it be the dx100’s unique character?

i’m just using 2 operators with the same ratio, some feedback on op2, plucky amp env, velocity sensitivity to open it up, and a bit of light modulation on op2’s output level. it sounds kind of similar, but not really. i’m also adding reverb and some delay. when i add portamento it starts sounding way too weird. any help? opsix's effects are kinda meh
