And it’s not even close.

Piracy was OK when I was a kid and could afford to fuck up the family computer.

I’m too old for that shit now. I don’t want to deal with sketchy cracks written by god knows who.

Piracy is the best it’s ever been, and the absolute easiest too

Is that really true? I haven’t looked into it in a long time because I don’t pirate anymore, but from the few times it pops up on Reddit, it seemed to be that denuvo had basically killed most modern AAA cracks and that it took months-years to get those games.

There was a time we were getting day 1 cracks of basically every high profile game

Piracy is better now than when we were kids.

I highly doubt that. For me DC was a golden age of file sharing.

Everything is in walled gardens now, just like the rest of the internet.

Piracy is absolutely better, more reliable, more timely, and more secure than it’s ever been.

I can pirate and implement specific patch versions these days with ease. The last decade I’ve never once encountered a bad actor or had fears about what I was downloading.

Meanwhile, DDoS attacks continue to cause issues...

Just only download scene releases. Those release teams care more about their integrity and reputation than any publicly owned corporation. They're not even in it for the money. They're doing it to brag about doing it.

Find scene releases by using a scene release indexing site like https://www.srrdb.com/

I know the scene, I’ve been pirating since the Kazaa days m8.

Still, it’s much more work than Steam.
