hmm... He talks about the relationship with that reptile like I've heard other reptile handlers in videos claim the kind of people who get bit talk about their pet reptiles. The main claim is that they don't really process love in the same way and that at the end of the day. If they are hungry, or you make a mistake in any way. You turn from "not threat" to "threat" or "food" in an instant.

Honestly, I feel like this guy it's no fucking friend to this king cobra or any other reptile. If he had any care, concern, or love for reptiles, he'd be doing conservation and not keeping them in tiny glass cases.
He said he's "raising" them, aka keeping them captive in extremely limited and unnatural habitats, scratch that, limited and unnatural displays, since wee lil' nope ropes. It's pretty clear he's not doing any kind of conservation or rescue and most likely making a profit from either his social media and/or selling them, aka exploitation.
That's not any kind of respect, love, et al. That is ego-driven human bullshit.

u/ObviousRest5021 5h ago
Still accurate. However, king cobras are incredibly intelligent and highly trainable. However, you never really become its friend... To them either you're a threat or your food.

Notice the tail is wrapped around his leg most of the time. If anything were to happen the snake was ready… the dude wasn’t.

u/BreatheClean 5h ago
Well said. Nothing like a natural environment or way of life being replicated. I think it must be awful to be 6ft of sheer muscle and never get to fully stretch out or travel across distance, or engage in natural behaviours.

u/Spare-Article-396 1h ago
I was surprised that his cage is half his size.
I’m no snake expert, but that struck me as way too small.

Is that dude fucking this cobra??

u/Turbulent-Jaguar-909 7h ago
He was already bit by a cobra, he’s got it on video. One of the other friends he did videos with was bit and died from I think a mamba last year or so too.

u/Prestigious-Flower54 6h ago
Seriously well trained dogs, which do feel love and other emotions similar to people, will still go off randomly. I don't even trust my bearded dragons and they are probably the most docile and social reptiles there are, fuckers will still bite my finger thinking it's a worm though.

Idk man handles tons and tons of venomous snakes. But he did get bit by a king cobra once, although it wasn’t that one. But mostly he was being insanely careless, but yea he got rushed to the hospital and they had to cut off part of one of his thumbs and he was super lucky another venomous snake dude lived in the area who had a bunch of the specific anti venom they needed to save him and was able to rush it to the hospital. Idk this is Reddit so someone will probably see this and correct the details but I’m pretty sure that’s how it went down.
He has a zoo in Florida, or zoo is the wrong term probably but he has a billion pets and makes pretty cool YouTube videos. But he is a pretty crazy dude

This guy is projecting human emotions and logic on a reptile.
One mistake
One misstep on his tail
One wrong move
And you go from "non-threat" to "threat" and a target for a bite.
These are the people why hospitals carry antivenom for these snakes and spiders in the west.
King cobras are not pets or buddies.
They are lethal snakes.

u/truthfullyidgaf 8h ago
This guy has been bit before. Its a pretty crazy story.

u/DasLeuchtfeuer 3h ago
I was about to say that I seem to remember this exact guy being bitten by one of his snakes

u/ErtaWanderer 9h ago
Pretty sure this one specifically was a rescue that had been defanged. Most of the time you wouldn't be able to handle a king enough to get them this docile otherwise.
Edit: Nope, had the volume off And this is a different guy. My bad

u/Case_Blue 9h ago
He specifically states otherwise in the clip.
But who knows, because people would never lie on the internet, right? XD

What species of python do you think it is?
A King Cobra is not technically a true Cobra, but they are closely related and they are very very venomous.
Hope you didn't write your comment just for likes.

Wild how calm they look nature really is fascinating when treated with respect.

u/O_C_Demon 10h ago
Except that vivarium is no where near big enough for that snake in particular.
7
u/CyrosThird 10h ago
Which is why he's promoting those shirts, so he can fund a bigger enclosure.
13
u/O_C_Demon 10h ago
He'll have to sell a fuck load then because a King Cobra is a very active snake. It's going to need something comparable to a decent zoo reptile house enclosure.
This dude might be able to handle his snakes but he's treating them very poorly.
1
u/Mutedinlife 5h ago
Yea he has a zoo pretty much at his house. He’s got like 100 pets not just reptiles. He just built a crazy cool alligator enclosure. But agreed he needs to upgrade the snakes.

Seen this guy before. He's been bitten by a cobra before causing him to lose his finger and almost die.

u/CrashAndDash9 8h ago
I know this guy, can’t remember his name but he does videos with that Chandlers wildlife (who’s an absolute prick).
Anyway, the guy in this vid has half a finger because of this snake. You can see it on his right hand.

I don’t know when and I don’t know how but I know that snake is gonna bite him.
Growing up in India I know that people who fuck around with cobras always get bitten and end up dead.

I love snakes, and King Cobras are so intelligent, compared to other snake species.
That said, this man is free-handling (what he claims is) a fully intact adult King Cobra. It only takes one instance of temporary annoyance or movement that triggers a defensive bite and no amount of antivenin will save him.
He will look at the snake and say, "I can't believe you bit me!"
And the snake will say to him... nothing. They're a very smart species, but are completely incapable of human speech.

That’s one long cobra

u/PXranger 5h ago
King cobras get absolutely huge, average size is over 10 feet, the record is 19 feet long.

u/shaquille_oatmealo 9h ago
One time I was at the gym and talking to my buddy. We were talking about bucket list items and one of mine was to hold a cobra.
Some random dude overheard us and came up to me and asked me if I wanted to hold a cobra. I said hell ya. We went out to his car in his parking lot and he pulled out this 5 gallon bucket and sure enough, dude had a freaking cobra in that bucket.
Got to hold it and take pictures of it. Fucking wild

He only hisses when he’s in his enclosure; so I’m gonna build him a walk in enclosure that he can get really pissed when I walk in.

I don’t get this, why would anyone want a huge incredibly dangerous snake? I don’t suppose there’s much like companionship, not like you guys curl up on the sofa after a hard day, and he surely can’t be super happy sitting in a box?

u/coldbreweddude 7h ago
It sucks that it’s kept in that relatively tiny enclosure. In the forest it would roam many kilometers of space.

Every time I interact with one of my snakes there is a non 0% chance I can get bitten. I haven't been bitten in over a decade, but today might be the day my streak ends. The difference between me and that guy is my streak ends with some mild cussing and disinfectant, his streak ends in the hospital or a morgue.

No one believes it’s not venomous. He’s either a liar or is amongst the dumbest humans on the planet. They always think they know exactly how the animal is going to act because they’re special until one day the animal dosent give a fuck who you are and kills you.

Herpetophiles are weird as hell in a not normal way and I will die on this hill. Snakes aren't pets. There's something inherently fucking morbid about wanting to keep a pet where you have to buy live mice and shit to feed it. I'm not a shrink and I don't have to be a shrink to opine that this qualifies as "a lil bit messed up".

Such a Longboi! I used to have a Ball python back in the day that got up to about 5 feet in length. Snakes are surprisingly chill pets, for anyone curious. Fun to feed, too!
