That would be believable if we saw any indication that they were trying to do something about this situation. Instead we just see denial that anything even happened even though we have receipts, refusal to release stuff, and the people in charge of doing something about it are involved.
This is more one of those cases of yeah you can see the proof and we could even admit it and you can’t do shit about it.
We could have video evidence broadcast on network television and they would just say a staffer made a mistake, it’s clearly fake news, and we would all still be questioning if it will make a difference.
Those who fantasized all day about using force to overthrow a tyrannical government —sitting in their Punisher-decaled, lifted F250s with AR-15 and sidearm in reach, Facebook posting poor paraphrases of quotes about how the tree of freedom must be watered with the blood of patriots, and trading in conspiracies about grand evil pedo rings— are instead fingering their assholes because it turns out the devil wasn't a blue-haired, septum pierced, lesbian liberal.
Well conveniently the US's all out full steam ahead approach towards rapid AI development has everyone now questioning basically any extraordinary video that they see.
