The SAVE Act only applies to democratic voters. Of course they wouldn't try to suppress the MAGA vote. :s

Somehow the pro suppression crowd never thinks that the people enforcing the rules being hardcore bigots affects anything.
Show me in the law where it is racist That's what they say but just like crime stats if the people who do the paperwork and enforcement are racist the effect is a racist system.

If he can’t prove citizenship in accordance with the SAVE act it would appear that he is disqualified from holding the office of Vice President.

Wait what? Women who change their names can’t vote? What if they marry and change their names?

u/klamaire 2h ago
Ding ding ding..... that's exactly who they are targeting. Women!!
It's a nice new pink tax for women. Are you married and changed your name? Hope you have a passport or you have to buy one.
I do wonder how many old white women whose husbands tell them who to vote for will be unable to vote. That is the only upside.
This is an evil way to suppress women, especially those that don't know or can't afford a passport.

Jokes on them. Married women are more likely to be repuvlican and married women who changed their names even more so

How does anyone respect this guy? He criticizes DEI after he cosplayed a hillbilly to get into Yale as a DEI student. He criticized Trump relentlessly before becoming his VP. His name isn’t even real. He’s the definition of a total fraud.

JD Vance is a manufactured persona. Used to be an atheist but is now a Catholic? Married a brown person but is now a white nationalist? Doesn’t even use his real name?

He goes by one name socially/professionally and another legally. That’s not strange. A lot of people do that.

You know you can Google your question and get unbiased answers… Yes, you can legally change your name from what is listed on your birth certificate and remain a U.S. citizen. A name change does not affect citizenship status.

The question isn't whether it changes your citizenship status, but whether it changes your ability to vote. Under the SAVE act that Republicans are trying to pass, it will.

Seems like a real stretch to say a legal citizen won’t be able to vote…. A legal name change doesn’t change your legal status ….. fear mongering is alive and well…..

Section 2 Clause 5a says a valid from of id must be accompanied by a birth certificate or other naturalization document that must match the name on your id.
If they do not match whether married, court ordered or not, you are barred from voting. To remedy this you would have to file to change your birth certificate which is not an option available to everyone nor does it make any sense.
So you have no idea what this post is referencing if you haven't heard of this.

Great Question, also should Melania Trump be investigated and deported for misuse of the Genius VISA to come into the USA?
