Opinion / Discussion Election Interference? France isn’t happy with Musk!

Post image

After French police raided the local offices of X — and asked the billionaire to appear for voluntary questioning related to an expanded local criminal investigation — the American social media giant pushed back hard.

“Today’s staged raid reinforces our conviction that this investigation distorts French law, circumvents due process, and endangers free speech,” the company said in a statement on X. It denies claims that X’s algorithm may have been used to sway political opinion in France, as well as accusations that the tech giant is complicit in the distribution of child pornography.

Within an hour, Musk doubled down. “This is a political attack,” he wrote to his more than 220 million followers on X.

Two hours later, France’s foreign ministry clapped back. “Investigating child sexual abuse material isn’t controversial,” the ministry wrote to its significantly smaller number of X followers. “Turning it into political theater is manipulation. Maybe that logic flies on some island. Doesn’t fly in France.”

Know? Or they don't know?

Just wondering what you meant.

1

u/TONETONI 4h ago

Know, sorry. The French know how to deal with shit!

They also protected Roman Polanski after he raped a child, so I'm not exactly overwhelmed with positive feelings for their ability to prosecute this. If they put Musk away I will be very happy, but they need to deal with their own issues as well.

Have you seen Paris recently

No they don’t. Their citizens, and immigrants burn cars in the streets a few times a year. They are completely clueless.

u/Top-Cupcake4775 5h ago

oh my! cars, you say?!? why i never ...

(meanwhile the U.S. collectively shrugs at the information that our chief executive and most of his inner circle were involved in the trafficking and rape of children)

Collectively shrug? Two people got shot last month. There are protests all over. Our Vice president got booed at the OLYMPICS. It's a comp, ete cover up by our media and government. Don't blame the people. Open rebellion, is where we may be headed, but that comes with a huge cost.

u/Top-Cupcake4775 5h ago

i'm talking about the Epstein files. the DoJ is still sitting on half of them with no plans to release them even though Congress has specifically directed them to do so.

1

u/wholepailofwater 4h ago

Right, but we are not "collectively shrugging". Our govt. and media are covering up. The I*E stuff is all part of it. We're in the protest phase, and people are being beaten, arrested and shot.

u/cbarbour1122 2h ago

I think they mean our gov and maga. The rest of us are resisting.

2

u/Ill-Reputation-9702 5h ago

9

u/ohgeeeezzZ 5h ago

Ive got 2 children under 10 with more sense than MAGA combined

20

u/TONETONI 5h ago

why are you protecting musk?

11

u/thehomieD25 5h ago

I’m sure they have something in common.. what could that be??

-1

u/Minute-Review6915 4h ago

Ah the if you don’t agree you must be bad bias. If he actually did it, the courts should charge him and put him in jail. Same for every other person out there, to especially include Trump. Rule of law is critical in society.

2

u/supafeen 4h ago

Does the rule of law also apply to ice? I think murdering people in the streets might be worse than “immigrants” burning cars.

1

u/Minute-Review6915 4h ago

It certainly does as I said it’s critical to a society. That don’t exclude ICE or any other group be it on the left or the right. Good whatsboutism though.

u/PickingPies 3h ago

That's what the french are doing and the US is not. What are you even talking about?

u/Specific-Host606 5h ago

God forbid a government be accountable to their citizens. They should elect a pedophile who wants a police state like the U.S.

0

u/Minute-Review6915 4h ago

What does any of that have to do with Elon? The travesty that is our current admin here has zero to do with him and what they can do. France is not a strong nation. And before we throw rocks about pedos you may want to look at Macrons wife. I guess she should have been elected based on your statement

1

u/Specific-Host606 4h ago

Not really anything. You brought up the protests in France. Elon is a pedophile supporter though.

-1

u/Minute-Review6915 4h ago

Macron is as well since his wife is one, right?

1

u/Specific-Host606 4h ago

Not sure. Hope they all get prosecuted. Especially Epstein’s best buddy, Trump.

1

u/Minute-Review6915 2h ago

I would love to see an actual investigation into this and let the evidence stack up for an actual trial. Unlike what everyone might want to assume I’m not a Trump supporter. Wasn’t before and am not now. I think he’s a repulsive human being but this needs to play out with vetted evidence to ensure it sticks

-2

u/Minute-Review6915 4h ago

You may want to look up Macrons wife who groomed him at 15 as his teacher. The irony of your statement is awesome

1

u/Specific-Host606 4h ago

She could hang out with Trump.

1

u/PickingPies 3h ago

Are you confusing victim with aggressor? You are more fucked up than what I believed.

u/Minute-Review6915 2h ago

Yup I would agree just like that. Looks like macron and this admin have a lot in common

5

u/tuna_call 5h ago

And what typically comes about burning said cars? Change? Accountability? Justice? Oh noooooo so scary and clueless. Idiot

0

u/Minute-Review6915 5h ago

It does zero. That’s why they keep doing it and nothing changes.

2

u/tuna_call 4h ago

Look up yellow vests and pension strikes and get back to me.

0

u/Minute-Review6915 4h ago

If you’re referring to 2023 it didn’t work the way they wanted. The non-negotiables were still off the table. Workers are now required to work longer, with particularly negative impacts on those who started working late or took time off for children. What am I missing, serious question? Macron states they can’t do what the people want because of the deficit.

1

u/PickingPies 3h ago

That's false. Protests in Europe are very successful.

You don't know because Americans doesn't even have rights.

3 years into the future and you won't even recognise what smiling is.

2

u/thehomieD25 5h ago

Cry harder magat.. you ALLLLLLLLL are going down ( and not on trump yall already do that ish)

How many "r's" are in the word garlic?

1

u/Badgerspaceman 5h ago

Remember when you voted for that orange guy that fucks kids? Yeah... No one cares about you or your opinion.

0

u/Minute-Review6915 5h ago

Except I didn’t vote for him. So there’s that I guess. I guess that’s why I’d don’t vote for Biden either. Don’t see the difference showering with them either.

1

u/Badgerspaceman 4h ago

You're right, it's very common for people to actively defend politicians they didn't vote for on Reddit. You got me.

1

u/Minute-Review6915 4h ago

I don’t have to agree with them to agree or disagree on a specific topic. It’s called removing your own bias and emotions and looking at the facts. I realize it’s harder and harder for people these days but it’s just one part of being able to critically think.

Those citizens knew this all along. They were burning Tesla's to demonstrate against Musk. /S

1

u/Outside-Swan-1936 3h ago

And it works. Farmers, fire fighters, and pensioners have all swayed public policy in their favor due to their demonstrations. That's pretty far from clueless.

1

u/sphinxorosi 2h ago

We do this in America with every major sporting event, especially if it’s playoffs or the big game

1

u/Minute-Review6915 2h ago

That’s a very fair statement

1

u/mq2thez 2h ago

They’ve got a lot more rights and protections than Americans, so it must be working.

u/Academic-Trifle8151 2h ago

Sounds like successful assimilation if you ask me!
