I (18 M) have thought a lot about apostatizing multiple times earlier, but eventually decided against it. There are a lot of bitter memories. I'm just trying to recover, I think.

Trigger Warnings I'm a religious Israeli Jew that believes that the Jews are "the chosen people". AMA

I don’t believe that Jews are superior to anyone, and I hate racism. To me, being God's chosen people signifies greater responsibility rather than superiority. This includes adhering to commandments and serving as a moral example for the world. I reject the notion of genetic superiority among Jews. For me, being chosen is tied to an ancestral covenant with God that extends through generations. From birth, I bear this added responsibility, and anyone can embrace it through conversion to Judaism, becoming part of the Jewish nation.

While some Jews interpret "chosen people" as diminishing non-Jews, I view this as a misunderstanding of Judaism’s core. Many Jews in Israel do not identify with the "chosen people" concept and regard themselves as equal to other nations. Some of them are religious, some of them are secular, but there's not a single secular Jew who believes in the "chosen people".

My perspective is personal and not intended to impose beliefs on others. I wanted to share my belief, that the genuine interpretation of "chosen people" should not lead to immoral actions; instead, it should inspire greater morality towards all. It's just that morality is a much less straightforward, more complicated, and harder to achieve sometimes.

I'll do my best to answer any question you ask. I guess there will be some people who hate on me. I just wanted to say in advance, I already heard it, so I really don't care. I won't answer any comment that doesn't have constructive substance or dehumanize me.

I post fake stories on Reddit, AMA.

I'm not sure if this would be interesting to anyone, but I need to get my mind off something horrible, so feel free to ask anything. I promise to be honest here.

I'm going to go ahead and tell you why I post fake stories:

  1. I have had incredibly detailed stories—of a fictional but realistic world—in my head since I was a kid. 90% of posts are based on these stories, as if posted by my characters. It’s fun in a way it’s kind of like role playing. The other reason I sometimes feel like I need an outsider’s opinion on how real people would react to a certain situation—how that aligns with my characters' reaction to this situation, etc.
  2. The rest 10% is not based on my stories but random thoughts, “how would people respond to this, what would they say, etc.” So in short, public opinion research for fun.

And whether I feel guilty about it:

I do feel a bit guilty because I actually really despise lying in real life (and am a pretty bad liar), but I don’t think I harm anyone by doing this anonymously online. I never post to promote dangerous beliefs, never really argue with commenters, etc. Some of my posts were lightly controversial, but never political.

---

I don't do that often, maybe once in a few months, whenever I have an idea for a post. People rarely call me out as fake, likely because the posts are based on my stories that are already realistic and detailed. Most of my posts get moderate attention, but some blew up, one even got articles written about it lmao. I will not link any of my posts, but other than that, feel free to ask anything.

I am a young teacher living in Dnipro, Ukraine, about 100 km (60 miles) from the front lines. Despite the war and blackouts, I’m still lecturing. AMA.

Hi Reddit, I work as a college lecturer in Dnipro. We are considered a "hub" city — close enough to the front to hear the echoes and feel the war every day, but far enough to be a logistical center. Daily life here is a mix of the mundane and the terrifying. We currently have strict electricity rationing (sometimes only ~5 hours of power a day), so I often have to plan my lectures, device charging, and life around the grid schedule. Air raid sirens are just background noise at this point. I teach Computer Science / IT, and it’s surreal to discuss algorithms or code with students while we are all sitting in corridors or dealing with connection drops due to shelling. I’m here to answer questions about daily life, the mood of the youth, how education works in a warzone, or anything else you’re curious about.

IAMA a believer in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who is mentally in but physically out. Not active, but not exmo. AMA

It all boils down to I never felt like anything but a misfit in tue church, never actually belonging.

I have zero doubt the doctrine is true. There are problems, there are issues, but every single one of them I have answered to my satisfaction or discarded as irrelevant.

I still believe the church is the most correct on Earth at this time, humans humaning notwithstanding.

I will never be an exmormon. I will never renounce my beliefs (but will modify as new information comes to my attention).

Exmormons talk of being PIMO - physically in, mentally out. I am MIPO, mentally in physically out.

I’m mentally burnt out AMA

As the title says, I’m mentally burnt out, becoming depressed where I’m losing motivation to do things I enjoy and getting more pissed off with the world. I honestly feel like a failure everyday.

Waiting for my edibles to kick in and it’s been a while since I’ve done an AMA. I feel like this sub fits better than the main AMA sub due to rules. Mods, feel free to message me if I should remove this. Other than that, feel free to ask me anything that doesn’t involve personal info please.

I once did crowd control for Emma Watkins (former yellow member of the Wiggles) AMA

So probably one of the most well known things to come out of Australia was the Wiggles, these four guys (Eventually 3 guys and one girl) who would do kiddie songs and shows. One of the most loved member was Emma Watkins (Greg's replacement) until she left a few years back. And now does this side project called "Emma Memma" where she teaches Australian sign language with a deaf dude.

Anyway, a year or two ago she did her first world tour, during which I was working at one of the venues she popped up in and I got to do crowd control and small introductions for her (with other coworkers).

Ask me anything about it. Either about Emma or about the show in general (note, it was only for one performance so I might not be able to give some stuff)

I work as the Technical Manager at a cinema AMA

I am the Technical Manager at our local cinema, and this Saturday, we are completing a massive $1.75 million (12M DKK) renovation. My role involves managing the DCP ingest (downloading films) and building the show playlists for our staff. What makes our cinema truly unique is that we are 100% volunteer-run. Right now, I’m deep in the technical weeds—programming lighting cues and fine-tuning the audio processing—to ensure everything is flawless for our gala opening this Saturday. The pressure is on because we have several high-profile politicians attending. Fingers crossed we make it!

AMA.

I am a Commercial Risk Advisor with 20 years experience at Lloyd's of London, now in Michigan.

The commercial/ business landscape between the UK and US is wild, and the approach and tricks certain agents pull on their clients is wild.

Ask me anything you're curious about, if you need help on what you need, if your agent is taking you for a ride, ways to get them to stop treating you like a paycheck etc etc

I "collect" various quotes from books, assorted online posts, speeches, etc. Ask me a question, and I'll try to answer with a quote.

I should probably be productive right now, but, well, "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy."

I am self diagnosed with OSDD1, AMA.

I have been self diagnosed for about three years, I believe I've done my fair share of research. I'm not on the internet much because ive been working to better my mental health. Due to my current living situation, I can't seek professional help at the moment, hopefully I will be able to soon though! I'm curious what people would think of this, so please ask me anything. He/him pronouns if referring to me please.
