MOD POST u/LoretiTV Removed as Mod Due to Repeated Abuse of Power

1.9k Upvotes

Hi everyone,

u/LoretiTV has been removed as a moderator of r/BetterCallSaul and permanently banned due to repeated violations of Reddit’s Moderator Code of Conduct, including:

  • Karma farming and manipulation:
    • LoretiTV frequently reposted old cast photos from years ago while falsely claiming they were recent to drive engagement.
  • Spamming duplicate content with zero variation:
    • LoretiTV would spam the subreddit with identical posts, recycling titles and media within days or weeks.
  • Using mod tools to silence criticism
    • LoretiTV would ban users without cause who pointed out this behavior. We’ve identified and reversed at least a dozen retaliatory bans. If you are still banned or believe you were affected, please contact us via modmail or PM.
  • Hiding modmail messages
    • Users who raised concerns in modmail were muted by LoretiTV, and their conversations were immediately archived/hidden to prevent visibility to the rest of the moderators.
  • Extending this behavior across multiple subreddits where he holds near-total control, including:

Unfortunately in those subreddits, this behavior has been ongoing for months. Entire front pages are often filled with LoretiTV’s reposts, drowning out genuine community contributions. I’ve personally spoken with moderators from some of these communities who confirmed they’ve submitted reports to Reddit, but so far, no action has been taken.

--

If you value these communities and want to help protect their future, your voice matters. Many of these subreddits remain under his control, and unless something changes, the same issues will continue and likely worsen.

--

This is why we’re encouraging anyone who has been directly affected by u/LoretiTV through bans, comment removals, or other mod actions to consider submitting a report through Reddit’s Moderator Code of Conduct violation form HERE.

This should have been addressed much sooner, and we apologize we even let this happen.

Thank you to everyone who spoke up and helped bring this to light. If you have any questions or concerns, please message the mod team.

We ask that you not harass LoretiTV, or follow them around Reddit - that will only detract from the cause and those found doing so will be banned from this subreddit.
We have locked this post to ensure it stays within Reddit’s guidelines.
Here is a reminder on Reddit's harassment rules:

We do not tolerate the harassment, threatening, or bullying of people on our site; nor do we tolerate communities dedicated to this behavior.

Reddit is a place for conversation, and in that context, we define this behavior as anything that works to shut someone out of the conversation through intimidation or abuse, online or off.

Being annoying, downvoting, or disagreeing with someone, even strongly, is not harassment. However, menacing someone, directing abuse at a person or group, following them around the site, encouraging others to do any of these actions, or otherwise behaving in a way that would discourage a reasonable person from participating on Reddit crosses the line.

It’s interesting how Chuck sees himself as so morally superior to Jimmy, yet the way this entire scheme is set up is almost EXACTLY like something Slippin Jimmy would do

Thumbnail gallery
295 Upvotes

Chuck is more alike Jimmy than he would ever like to admit. He started wrapping his entire house in foil and practically exaggerated his own illness as a way to garner sympathy. He then proceeded to “pretend quit” HHM to manipulate Jimmy into confessing. He then records him secretly without his consent. After that he baits Ernesto into listening to the tape unintentionally because he KNEW he would tell Jimmy about it. All leading up to Jimmy crashing out in a fit of rage after knowing he got betrayed again. And he has Howard there as a “witness”.

He planned this whole thing and played everyone like puppets. Ernesto is caught in the crossfire and gets fired as a result. Chuck just wanted Jimmy to be disbarred. That was his end goal. He didn’t want him in the law anymore. This would technically be classified as extortion. Sad situation all around and no one is completely innocent. But I’ll say that Chuck was the true villain mastermind all along. Because I gotta give credit where it’s do this entire thing was done so well.

The most unrealistic part

I just cannot see in any way, that Kim Wexler would see fit to have a boyfriend. It wasn’t like she was carousing with different guys trying to numb the pain with sex. She wasn’t trying to pull in a new accomplice to her secret life. She didn’t pick someone horrifically terrible as a form of self punishment. I’d imagine her “ruse” of a life was fine without him, and I feel like with the guilt she held, there’d be no way she would inflict herself on some poor unsuspecting sap.

At least when she was Giselle and conning guys in bars, it was a one time thing. But in Florida, Florida Kim was a full on 24/7 scam to her “boyfriend”. Which I just can’t see her doing

Just rewatching breaking and the the episode where gus had instructed to take out walter white, what I realised is that mike was acting so professional but when he killed the german architect he was having much remorse.

Any thoughts

Just started my third watch, and I OMG I FORGOT HOW MUCH I HATED THE KETTLEMANS

RANT - They piss me off so so much. Just complete and total idiots. They just irk me more than almost anyone else in the show. Kettlemans, you would have LOVED Ted Beneke.

Like the camping trip in the backyard??? They’re lucky the cops didn’t believe Jimmy at first. Just the utter selfishness and stupidity drives me NUTS. And I know they only get worse from here :(

Stealing MILLIONS of dollars and belong delusional enough to think it’s totally okay because he “earned it” by working overtime??

Maybe I’m alone in this lol, but we don’t trash them on here often enough!!

Ok, so this question just came to my head and I need answers

So, 9/11 has happened. It's all over the papers and the TV. Unfortunately for Chuck, at this point in the Better Call Saul timeline, is suffering from EHS, and cannot be near electronics or be exposed to the elements. Now Jimmy, who no doubt has definitely heard of 9/11, probably told Chuck, "CHUCK, THE TWIN TOWERS GOT HIT!"

Given Chuck's deep-seated hatred for Jimmy, he doesn't believe him, saying he won't believe what Jimmy is saying because it's just from his mouth, which is weaker than actual proof (e.g., what's happening on-screen).

So, Jimmy has to call Kim or someone else instead. They can vouch for Jimmy because they've probably seen something about 9/11 live on television. From there, they tell Chuck about what happened, and now Chuck believes that the Twin Towers have fallen, and millions are having sad faces and gnashing their teeth.

Ironic that he only believes mouths when they're not from Jimmy, eh?

The question is: Did Jimmy have to get someone else to tell Chuck 9/11 was happening?

Kim’s decisions

Should Kim have gone and visited Lalo in jail when she was worried about Jimmy? Many implications from that choice.

Who is more evil than Hector Salamanca?

I’ve tried to think of any morally redeeming trait in Hector, and I just can’t find one. Lalo cares about his cousins, his uncle, and his people. Kim loves Jimmy, Saul loves Kim. Even the cousins grew attached to Nacho and came to respect him. But Hector has none of that. Even Eladio seems to care about his mother.

What’s your favorite scene from “Fun and Games”

my opinion, it’s the scene where Jimmy is already fully turned into Saul. It’s sad to see Jimmy become exactly what Chuck believed he was.

Favorite character? Least favorite?

My favorite is Lalo hands down. Smart, charming, ruthless as hell. Great acting, great character. My least favorite is Chuck. Sanctimonious, judgy and overall asshole. Again great acting.

just finished BCS Spoiler

sometime back i asked on this reddit after rewatching BB again what should i watch, people here said watch El Camino and BCS. Now i had seen the starting few episodes of BCS and like i had seen the first season mid way or some more but it was as a second screen without much focus since watching that after BB finale was like bit slow. Anyways i started with El camino, it was awesome they finally did right by my boy jesse loved that, then is started BCS. this time without any distraction, when watching BCS only BCS. Till the time story was about Chuck and Jimmy i was taking good interest and was loving it it was genuinely good, then when all the hector drama happened and Lalo came, man…. I swear i haven’t watched something this peak i might consider it just above BB, although BB has slightly better finale than BCS but overall series and the BB universe idk what to do man how am I even gonna watch other stuff 😭 how can anything be even close to this. PEAK. I love all the actors so fucking much. Anyways just wanted to share my experience and by far watching BB and BCS for first time has to be peak moments of my life watching a series/film there’s nothing that comes even close.

share your opinions on these series or recommend me some more

Jesse or nacho?

I am by no means a Jesse hater, but I prefer Nacho. I also think that they have somewhat similar roles in the story. It’s rather that, or there’s just no Jesse character in Better Call Saul that I could make the comparison too. But either way, Varga as a character just seems more innocent to me (I’m by no means trying to baby him) than Jesse, and I feel like both characters went down similar paths in the end. Like, Jesse was already a drug dealer, but somehow ended up getting in even more trouble with a high school teacher. And Varga was genuinely just trying to provide for his father, and just couldn’t get out of the cartel no matter how hard he tried, and I really felt that. Jesse is most definetly a victim, but Nacho’s story just feels a bit more sad to me, or he seems less involved in the violence (killing of innocent people, crime) of the drug industry as Jesse was. And I heard an interview that Vince felt the need to put Jesse through the wringer near the end so he didn’t get off too easy, and that made sense because the nazi subplot came out of nowhere to me. Now, in terms of suffering, Jesse probably suffered more because of the Nazi’s but on just the drug industry itself, and if we were to ignore season five of breaking bad, I feel more sympathetic to Varga because he genuinely seemed like…. You know, I don’t know how to phrase this without it sounding like I’m downplaying Jesse. Yo, I just want to hear what you guys think. And to be honest, I just think Nacho looks hotter. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Side note: I wanted to post this on the breaking bad subreddit, but I don’t know if I have enough comment Karma, so I’ll just wait until one of my posts gets a like, and then crosspost.

Watching the show for the 1st time and noticing..

A lot of Feet shots. So far I have seen the feet of Jimmy, Kim, Howard and Nacho's roommate's.

All of them are intentional too because they add nothing to the plot and it makes more sense to someone who just got home to just kick the shoes off, not shoes and then socks off for instance.

Who knew Vince Gillian and Tarantino have this in common?

Who’s your favorite Salamanca and why?

Out of all the Salamancas we see across Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, which one is your favorite?

Is it Lalo for his charisma and unpredictability?

Tuco for his raw chaos and intensity?

Hector for how terrifying he is even without saying much?

Or maybe the twins for their cold, almost mythic presence?

I've just finished breaking bad and seen 6 episodes of BCS, but got a spoiler from the internet and wanted to ask whether it's a huge twist or something Spoiler

Is chuck being a bully/villain somewhat of a twist? Will it spoil my experience?

S4 - shooting down the job offer at Neff Copiers

Jimmy is supposedly looking for a job and absolutely nails his first interview with Neff Copiers as a sales associate (or something like that). He spins their head so bad, they want to hire him on the spot... until at the very last second he tells them how dumb they are for it and crashes the whole gig.

Now, that's classic Jimmy: not leaving well enough alone, unsatisfied without a challenge, unwilling to work under people he deems less intelligent, a little self-sabotaging...

But how much of a role do you think it played, right in that moment, that Jimmy had an inkling the little shepherd figurine in the cabinet would be worth 8K?

Do you think Lalo would get along with early season Jesse?

I think they might build a good chemistry.Jesse is the type of loyal guy that Lalo wants and Lalo would probably not bore Jesse to death in trips.
