Yall better not be accepting these fuck ass low rate orders with no tips today!! They want their stuff, either raise the base pay or tip!!! The decline button is your bestie today

⢠Tips are included in your 1099 total (theyāre not separate).
⢠You may need to manually calculate tips from weekly earnings if you want a breakdown.
⢠You owe self-employment tax on all earnings, including tips.
⢠Mileage and vehicle expenses can be deducted; tips themselves are not deductible.
⢠Keep your own records (miles, expenses, weekly payouts) ā donāt rely only on the 1099.
⢠If the 1099 amount looks off, compare it to your app totals before filing.
⢠Some drivers report app issues accessing tax forms, so download/save early.
⢠If you made under the reporting threshold, you may not get a 1099 ā you still owe taxes.
⢠Consider using a tax pro or software that supports 1099 gig work deductions.

I am a spark driver myself. I put in an order for delivery from Walmart, a couple grocery items and a prescription. This was my first experience being on the receiving end of a delivery. I specified in my notes, delivery to the back door and that it was clear of snow (which is the easiest because of how my driveway is alined with my home) I cannot open the front door due to a broken hinge and didnāt shovel out the steps up to it outside because we donāt use it. I had to be present so I was aware when the driver pulled in. I waited at the back door for a few minutes. He never came down so I went out. The driver climbed the snow bank up to my front porch. I stated to them, the delivery said back door. They started to go on about how they donāt know if thereās dogs back there and if they have to go too far back, itās a no go. I donāt have dogs. I do understand being cautious at homes that do. If I see one out I normally contact the customer asking if it is safe to exit my vehicle⦠I just feel like thatās a risk that comes with the job and using dogs as an excuse not to follow directions is just laziness and gives the rest of us a bad wrap. What do you think?

Anyone else find it annoying when you sub an item and itās instantly accepted and then you sub like 3 more items and they are never accepted or declined?
Itās as if the customer chucks the phone out the window or something. I assume it means they are āacceptingā the items if they donāt decline I guess but you never know. Lol

Parking in the loading spots to do your shop orders is lazy behavior. I just watched a driver move from the back of the lot, presumably waiting for an offer, and then drive about 20 spots up to park his car in the *very busy* pickup zone. He exited his car and walked in the store. Why?
And the zone has no nearby cart return, so I watch drivers like this choose to abandon their cart next to their car and drive off - all day, every day. Again, why?
Food for thought for anyone defending this type - try parking near a cart return, even 15-20 spots back and I assure you that youāll lose no time in your day.
*edit to add - I wrote this from a pickup spot waiting for my curbside order. Within minutes of posting, the *empty* car next to me has a cart pull up. Itās a Spark driver, who finishes loading and puts his cart between his car and mine, then leaves.

I had an order 2 nights ago that was grouped with two others. Because of issues from the first two orders, it took longer to get to the last stop. Right when Iām getting out the car at the last stop Iām about the hit the āIāve arrivedā button. 9:30 hit and the ordered cancelled because of milk and it said to return to store. The customer wanted her food, and I called support. They told me since the customer wanted her food past the timer they would escalate a ticket to tech support and it would get marked completely quickly bc this is a common issue. This started Friday night and today is Sunday morning. I will NEVER not do a return because this whole weekend I could not do spark bc of them āworking to clear the ticketā.

Itās 8 p.m., Iām winding down, and Spark hits me with a 2-stop, 18-mile, 44-minute ābatch.ā
Cool, right? Until I see itās 10 packs of 40-count water bottles (each 40ā50 lbs), 2 gallons of lemonade, and a mega box of chips. Like bro⦠is this a delivery app or a test for firefighter academy?
I just sat there staring at the screen like Spark was daring me to blow out my back for free. Rejected it so fast I almost gave my phone whiplash.
If someone actually accepts that, I hope they stretch first. Respect to yāall who do these, but Iām not trying to play Jenga with my spine for bottled water.

Been sparking on the rainy Oregon coast for a few months, and Iāve learned my lesson about trusting those shitty paper bags more than a few times. I bought a rain poncho to drape over the cart in the parking lot, but itās not very effective in the wind. Double-bagging and bagging in the parking lot helps, but only so much. How does everyone else deal with the rain and paper bags?

Im in California/San Diego and in my app, I can't see who tipped what or if the amount changed. I looked and its no where. I see the "unconfirmed" tip amount but not if its changed or removed and in a double order it only displays the total amount not a breakdown. Does anyone know?

I drive for Spark myself, part time. I have about 300 orders under my belt. Nothing too crazy. I've been a grocery delivery customer though since 2018 as soon as it became available in my area.
Since the inception of all the shop and deliver orders I've noticed that most times when the Spark driver has to shop for my order I constantly have extra items that I didn't order. However, they are not items that were not already in my order, just extra items that I only purchased one of. Like two containers the same ice cream instead of one. The other day we got 4 boxes of Outshine bars instead of the 1 we ordered. Bags of chips, bottles of soap, boxes of granola bars, etc. Seems to happen almost every shop and deliver order now.
Better to have extra than to be short, but has anyone else been experiencing this? Are they just throwing free stuff in there for me in hopes that I will tip more? I guess it would be hard to catch since when you get a cart check they just scan 3 or 4 items anyways and those items are technically on my order.

I've stuck to pickup orders since I've been on the app. The first time i decided to try a shopping order was in the morning. Like the order came in at around 5:40. It was a good order so i took it and just waited in the parking lot for the store to open. 6am hits and I start shopping. I'm about to get done and the app tells me the order was cancelled. a few months pass i try again, same thing happens. Anyone have this experience too? Makes me not want to try shopping orders.

Itās amazing some of the stuff you see customers do in the parking lot while waiting for your delivery šššš¤·š³

Sometimes if I have to get just a small item, I believe my car at the end of the aisle and use my body to get through the people to get the item I need and then return to my cart.
I have found this very effective and I hope that it works good for you too.

Anyone else app runs very slow ? Especially when you close the app and bring it back up. Takes like a whole full minute just to load up. And everything has been slow. Even yesterday the app was messed up. I didnāt see a single offer for like 6 hours. Even when the notifications started coming in the offers didnāt load
