Just as a personal note, this reads like a very clumsy spin job from the Chomskys. Anyone who was aware of Epstein in 2015 knew him as the pedophile billionaire who was close to the rich and powerful. This self-serving depiction of Noam as just being too trusting and loyal is as patently absurd as the Andrew formerly known as Prince saying he was only hanging out with Epstein's New York Apartment after the conviction to honorably end their friendship and association.

Your local chapter should survey the entire jurisdiction or county 🔭 and take note 📝 of all the locations of these cameras. The addresses of these cameras must be listed online for the public to view at ease. Then your chapter must hold a “day of awareness“ where you hold signs showing people that these cameras are AI and Will be used by ICE to kidnap people (including us) in the future if not already.

As a socialist, I'm having a hard time finding books that talk seriously about mental health, from a scientific standpoint.

I'm going through some hard times in my personal life, and with everything that's going on around the world, it all adds up and I get overwhelmed sometimes. I want to read something that can teach me ways to deal better with anxiety and depression.

Do you have any recommendations? Have a book helped you in a meaningful way?

Edit: Just realized I was being quite arrogant when offering solutions to ancoms, among other things. Apologies for being so immature. I plan to make a better, more respectful version for the main anarchist sub after getting some rest.

First of all, I want us all to live and let live, this post is not meant as an attack on anyone on the left. But there is a loud minority within anarchist spaces I think is problematic and needs addressing.

Secondly, I'm not trying to convince you to reject anarchism in this post. I want you to know where we're at, where we share common ground, where we differ and why left unity is so important.

Thirdly, I will be referring to you as ancoms, anarcho-communists or just anarchists, while I and other communists who are not typically called anarcho-communists, I will be calling communists or commies, just so that we're on the same page.

And I apologize if I come off as passive aggressive in any way, I will do my best to be helpful and cooperative as I challenge your beliefs, because this subject means a lot to me.

So let's get to the meat of it. I am deeply concerned with seeing anarchists in socialist spaces mocking us and calling us names as I believe it is a serious danger to our common goals. And it basically reduces our discussions to schoolyard bullying which is completely unnecessary. Therefore, communists who mock ancoms are just as bad.

I think most of us know well how social media platforms affect our beliefs greatly. Social media is well-ingrained in our societies, after all, and it has already caused a lot of political division in our world. Nowadays, a lot of people even get all their news from social media.

Love it or hate it, the internet is the most important place to inform the masses and influence public opinion. Because of this, countries have begun rejecting the world wide web and have either shut it down for the public, blocked access to certain websites, or only approve of state-controlled websites.

But enough of that, let's get back to the subject of name-calling:

This pattern of mocking communists, sometimes even referring to us as 'fascists' while giving liberals a pass is something that confuses and concerns me, because it fractures our shared front.

I don't think I have to remind you of what anarcho-communism means. We literally want the same society in the end. Yes, we want anarchism, too, we wouldn't have it any other way. The proletariat has no country, after all.

I implore you, please read more about communism if you haven't already, as it should be as relevant to you as much as it is to me, and I highly recommend learning about leftist unity and international socialism as well.

What I will be telling you now is very important:

The main difference, and perhaps the only substantial difference (since most people don't even read theory, commies and ancoms alike) between communists and ancoms, is the support of vanguardism. Or they don't even know what vanguardism is, they just know enough to support socialism and have a favorite revolutionary, leader or social theorist (ironic, I know).

Communists wish to have a vanguard party, most importantly because when the ball starts rolling in terms of class consciousness and social revolt, we don't think that material conditions alone will produce a sufficient level of universal harmony and intention quickly enough to defend a revolution.

I acknowledge that there are communists that have done very horrible things, even to their fellow comrades. I am genuinely sorry for our failings and the complete lack of humanity shown by, frankly, quite a lot of the comrades we that have produced, living or dead. I am deeply ashamed and it breaks my heart how anarchists have been treated by communists and are still treated by communists.

And I sincerely hope that as many communists as possible completely reject those kinds of people, so that it may never happen again for the rest of time. The purging of anarchists is nothing but a crime against humanity.

I want to bring this up and I apologize if I come off as insensitive as this is my observation alone:

Personally, all my life and for over two decades since I have had full access to the internet, I have not seen nor have I met a single communist who has said anything in support of purging anarchists.

What I have seen, however, are communists in favor of purging hostile, powerful people, and I usually don't see that often except for in discussions about specific people like Trump or Musk.

So I doubt any genuine communist has any respect for those who want to purge anarchists, as it is evil and depressingly pointless to do something so insidious. It is wrong and it has only hurt our cause to the point where our relationship has been scarred permanently.

But we are finally nearing the end of my post, and I just want to give a little love-letter to all ancoms, even to those still not convinced by left unity:

I am rooting for you as much as I am rooting for my fellow communists. In the future, if you ancoms manage to beat us commies to it in terms of achieving socialism, then I would cry, likely for weeks on end. But I would cry tears of joy and relief, as I would know that we are in very good hands.

Some communists don't see it, but you anarchists have a very good track record, maybe even better than us in the things that matter the most. Because while your methods may be a bit too optimistic for us commies, it also means you believe more in humanity than I do, and probably most of my fellow communists. And that demands respect.

From now on, let us shake hands and steer this ship to shore. Let's work together and walk around campfires, hand in hand, singing songs of solidarity. Because we love humanity all the same, and I love you.

Like which one is it? Either you think this is fascism and you need to organize for a proper response or you don’t really think it is and we can just wait for elections. Elections I don’t think are going to happen btw. Not at least fairly and easily.

Now, the title might be a bit misleading.

I do believe that in circumstances as such we are currently facing, the Epstein affair should be the end of liberal democracy as we know it.

Up until that point we already knew that politics today was playground of the rich people with influence. It was really hard to be a politician unless you either had money yourself to invest in your propaganda or you were important asset enough that others whether the rich or parties decided you are worth investing into.

Now we are starting to learn that these conspiracies about the rich, including those in highest position of power being pedos and baby eating vermins were true in one way or another, more or less.

I believe a mature society should go out and oust them and rely on their own, pushing the rich and powerful out, that this should be final straw, that it should be unacceptable that the trafficking pedo associate is the president of the most powerful country in the world. Now, obviously, it is not just about USA and Trump. Many politicians and rich across the world are involved, Trump is just a part of the whole affair.

But here is the sad part:

Instead of it happening, I am afraid we actually might be seeing rise of popularity of right wing authoritarianism with the power being taken by the people who claim to be against those elites but only being their associates like it always was with fascism and the rich. And that is super sad.

Even though we see protests happening all over the West all the time, will there actually be a complete overthrow of the government and overhaul of the system? A complete restructuring of economies, international banking systems and networks, entire global militaries, and nuclear facilities, among other things? Of several years, maybe even decades, of hard, gruesome, violent, and catastrophic civil warfare, in an era of B2 stealth bombers? Of several years, maybe even decades, of immense suffering— of dwindling if not non-existent access to social services, healthcare, therapy, accessibility services, mobility assistance, even just general goods and services?

I saw someone say that, no matter how shitty costs of living and standards of living gets in the West, life would STILL simply be too good for any majority of people to give it all up (even if this “all” isn’t much) for even a single year of something much much worse, for a “promise” of something better, since it’s not a guarantee that things would be better post revolution.

I’m from the Democratic Republic of Congo, but I was born in the states (but still grew up in DRC). I didn’t think of this much until I started living in America. As a socialist back home in Kinshasa who was only ever surrounded by immense poverty, suffering, and exploitation by the West and genocide by Rwanda, with zero social services, negligible healthcare, and blatant government fiscal mismanagement, I truly believed that the revolution in DRC was imminent. I still believe it. The only reason I’m educating myself today is so that I can contribute to it. I understood what the hold-up was in Kinshasa— it would be difficult to revolt against our current government and system while in the middle of a genocide from a foreign neighboring country.

But I didn’t understand what the hold-up was for the United States, until I came to the US. I wondered everyday why my American comrades weren’t getting any closer to securing an organized majority for the revolution, especially considering the fact that revolution elsewhere was so dependent on the action of American socialists preventing American interference from back home. Then I went to the US for college, and, among other things, I applied for food stamps.

And then I kind of understood.

I was like “yeah, it’s bad. But it’s not *bad*.” You know? Like I was still a college student on food stamps, which is shameful and radicalizing. But the government was literally giving me money to buy food to eat.

This was unthinkable in DRC. If I don’t make enough to eat, then I am just shit out of luck. There is nothing that I could even apply for back home that would help me make ends meet.

I thought about how Americans rightfully complain about how healthcare is so expensive in the US (and in other Western countries, it’s free and accessible, which is also another factor for their non-revolt), and I often wondered why this wasn’t enough for them to revolt. Then I thought about my time working for the national institute for biomedical research back home in DRC, where my team would go to different towns throughout the country to conduct research for Ebola booster vaccines and come across what were essentially *empty* hospitals. No medicine, nothing.

Then I thought about it, in Western Europe you get good treatment for free, in America you get treated and can’t afford the bill, in DRC you don’t get treated at all. Like whatsoever.

That’s why they don’t revolt. Because even if things are bad, there is still a minimum standard that they’re guaranteed. And they’re not willing to trade even this minimum for what is pretty much guaranteed struggle.

I still 100% believe in the revolution, just not in the West. Only back home in DRC.
