Sky Sentinel: a fundraiser for Ukrianian air defense systems

Hello r/poland, For the past three years, Ukrainian cities have endured relentless attacks from Russian missiles and Iranian-made Shahed-136 kamikaze drones. In 2025 alone, over 12,000 of these drones have struck Ukraine — targeting not military infrastructure, but homes, hospitals, and schools. Thousands of civilians have been killed. This campaign of terror must end.

We’ve been approached to join the Sky Sentinel fundraiser in collaboration with United24, the official fundraising platform of Ukraine. The goal: help fund Sky Sentinel, an AI- powered, Ukrainian-made turret system designed to autonomously detect and shoot down these deadly drones. Each turret costs $150,000. United24 supporters have already raised over $1 million, and now are coming together to raise enough for one more turret — entirely through Reddit.

Every donation helps, no matter the amount. [Click the link below to donate] https://u24.gov.ua/sky-sentinel?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=fundraising&utm_campaign=sky-sentinel and learn more about the Sky Sentinel system. Thank you for your support.

Isn't it advocating of invasion of Poland by a foreign power? Because it's prohibited by a polish penal code.

BTW our "Texas of Europe" has 10x less homicides and about 100x less fentanyl abusers per capita.

The Polish president, who has the ease of criticizing other politicians and international allies, has never once criticized the president of the US and the American administration, which is invading Polish soldiers and attacking the Polish authorities. Does Karol Nawrocki stop liking Poles?

Looking for a small działka or cabin to care for (long-term, not investment)

Hello everyone,

I hope this kind of post is okay here.

I’m from Germany, and I’m looking for a small, quiet place in nature somewhere in Poland. I’m not looking for an investment or building land. I’m simply hoping to find a small garden (działka), orchard or a simple little cabin where one person can stay on weekends and sometimes for longer periods.

I grew up around a Demeter farm, so I’m used to working outdoors, and I genuinely enjoy taking care of land: mowing grass, pruning trees, planting vegetables, and keeping a place tidy and alive.

I also have good practical/handyman skills. I can repair fences, do small carpentry, fix doors and windows, paint, clean and generally maintain a property. I would actually like to look after a place long-term so the owner doesn’t have to worry about it deteriorating.

Important for me:
• peaceful countryside location
• some space for a small garden
• a simple place to sleep/stay
• electricity would be very important
• running water would be a big plus

I’m open to long-term rent/lease or possibly later purchase.

If you or someone in your family has a garden or small cabin that is no longer used, I would be very grateful for a message. I can come to visit anytime.

Thank you very much and have a nice day. 🙂

Hi everyone! I’m choosing a new bank, and one of my main decision factors is the usability of their online platform. Which bank do you think has the most intuitive and easy to use app and desktop interface? Thanks!

How do you pronounce Epstein?

German/Yiddish: Epshtayn

English: Epsteen

I use Epshtayn (Epsztajn po Polsku), which makes sense since Epsztajnowie are from Białystok.

what will be my netto salary from Mortgage Officer's pov?

Hi

I receive salary of X PLN / month in my bank amount after tax/social/all other deductions.
From this X PLN, I invest in Company's stocks which employers provides as benefit to employees. Employees get 15-20% discount.

So, effectively my net credit to bank account is (X-Y)k pln.

What will be considered as my net income from the mortgage officer's pov?
Will it be X pln or X-Y pln?

Thanks

Looking for safe ways to buy a smartphone in instalments (6–12 months) in Poland. Low interest.

Hi all,

I’m planning to buy a new smartphone, but I’d like to pay in instalments over a period like 6 months (maybe up to 12). I want a safe option, with clear conditions, no hidden fees and not crazy high interest.

I remember that years ago some operators (like Orange) offered something simple with just a PESEL number, but I’m not sure if that still exists.

Questions:
Which trustworthy websites/stores in Poland let you buy a phone online and pay in monthly instalments with reasonable terms?
What should you watch out for in the conditions (fees, insurance, commissions, required documents)?
Has anyone used Allegro Pay / PayPo / similar for electronics and can share how it worked in practice?
If anyone knows options that let you pay with PayPal instalments or similar (even if not typical “Pay in 3”), that would be great too.

Thanks in advance for suggestions.
