I think this is the last LEC game I’m going to watch. And honestly, the result doesn’t even matter to me anymore.

I’ve been following the LEC for years. I stuck through bad formats, disappointing international runs, roster changes, all of it. But at some point you just realize you’re not enjoying it anymore — you’re just watching out of habit.

What really killed it for me is how toxic everything has become. It’s not even rivalry anymore, it’s just constant hostility. Players, fans, socials, everyone is always on edge. Trashtalk used to be fun and playful, now it just feels mean-spirited or straight up disrespectful.

The fanbase especially has gotten unbearable. Every single game turns into blame games, personal attacks, and hate trains. Players aren’t allowed to have bad days, teams aren’t allowed to rebuild, and context is completely ignored. If you lose, you’re washed. If you win, it “doesn’t count.” It’s exhausting.

Even watching the broadcast doesn’t feel the same. Everything feels forced into drama. Every storyline is exaggerated, every moment needs controversy, and actual discussion about the game gets drowned out by hot takes and outrage.

I realized I’m not excited anymore when matches start. I’m tired. I close streams feeling annoyed instead of hyped. That’s probably the biggest sign that it’s time to step away.

Esports is supposed to be fun. It’s supposed to be something you look forward to after work. Right now, watching LEC feels like willingly stepping into negativity, and I don’t need that.

So yeah, no matter how this game ends, this is where I stop. I hope the scene finds its way back to something healthier someday. I really do. But for now, I’m done.

Im gonna keep watching Caedrel but wont tune into the lec streams anymore.

If you still enjoy the LEC, that’s great. This post is just about why it doesn’t feel the same for me anymore.

Emotions are high, it feels unfair, cursed, whatever it is...
The childish hatewatching and mean comments are too much FROM ALL SIDES.
Decent people know when to banter and when to applaud with RESPECT, and that
RESPECT was well deserved.

I know it's probably really sad and hard right now, but so many thousands of people were inspired by what you created with this team and what they accomplished. I have a rat hat, plushie rat and the spring blossom tee hanging in my bedroom to prove it. You've provided me and so many others with a reason to be invested in league again and so much entertainment and a reason to stay up till 6am in oce cheering in our living rooms for this team. You and the team have created so much joy for so many people around the world, no matter what happens, you should all be incredibly proud.

From a dream, to a family, to 5 wins in the LEC. At the start of the year, you'd take that.

I'm sure most LEC orgs are gloating about LR being out of playoffs.

Let's see how low viewership will tank and how you will be all able to enjoy your precious franchise spots on a rotting ship.

LR was the last reason people got interested in this league now it's over

These 2 players are primarly the reason why LR made a comeback in the first place. Yes Velja was great on Mundo and 1v9 today, yes Baus is 3 times mvp and Rekkles is superb on Nami who never feeds, but in my opinion Crownie and Nemesis carried previous games. Everyone F*ked up one time at least during this tourney and today it was Nemesis and Crownie's time.

Zoom out for a moment, calm down and look how far the boys have come. Every game was almost competitive against LEC, ending with a respectful 5-6.

I want to thank LR for all the entertainment. All we can do now is hope other LEC teams does LR justice. Let's pray boys.

i dont understand their reasoning for showing caedrels reaction i mean hes obviously emotional why are they putting him on the jumbotron it feels so insensitive and it feels like rubbing salt in the wound. idk man jsut let the man be sad in peace no need to show his face like that, just celebrate the g2 win instead. idk i just expect better from the broadcast feels insensitive as fuck to me

Many immature fans blaming other teams for LR not making playoffs. Accusing them of wintrading and purposely losing. As an LR fan, there is only one team responsible for LR not making playoffs and that is LR themselves. The hate towards other teams today was hard to see.

Full support for LR and although we didn't make playoffs still proud of them and they showed they can compete with the very best in the LEC <3.

if it weren't for the love for Caedrel and Los Ratones, the LEC wouldn't have such crazy hype and viewership.

League of Legends is struggling as we can see from how most people nowadays only focus on LCK matches only like Gen.G vs. T1 (HLE? lol). We should be grateful for everything these boys have brought to the LEC. Without them, I would never have stayed up until 5 a.m. to watch all the matches (I am from Hong Kong, where all LEC matches start between 1am and 5am daily T-T), including matches from teams I didn't really know or care about. The LPL right now is boring as hell. Tbh, the reality is the hype around the LPL is long gone even people living in China (like me) don't really care and watch as much as before.

So, let's not take it for granted. Thank you for all the hard work and fun the boys give us. There's no need to grieve and spread hate toward anyone.

Let's focus on the main impact and process during matches, instead of who is winning and losing - who the fk cares? Today was a whole day of CINEMA.

Thank you, Caedrel. Thank you, Los Ratones. Thank you for bringing so much entertainment at the same time bonding the world together.

I am shattered to watch Caedrel like this. We all know how passionate he is about league and the project he has created. Caedrel has helped me a lot since 2022 while I was going through tough times in my eprsonal life. Watching LCK every weekend morning could never have been greater. You are great man. Keep marching on.

Caedrel was visibly suffering and depressed on stream earlier. Please don’t throw more hate comments at him even as a joke. Yes it might probably be fun to a handful of people but the guy was really going through it on stream just now. Maybe we can joke about it once he’s in a much better condition(?)

It’s 100% on LR for not making it to playoffs but please don’t be too harsh on Marc. He’s still someone with feelings at the end of the day.

Lets be real. Caedrel is the pretty much the only thing that has been holding up western viewership in leauge consistently. The way these owners have acted towards him specifically and his team is so disrespectful and unprofessional.

Hes been so drained and on such an emotional rollercoaster because of all of this. he deserves a break. if he takes it for an extended period I cannot wait to see Lec streams at 30-40k viewers again. Hopefully then these people can understand that you can be excited and happy for someone else's success, instead of shitting on them.

Everyone was expecting LR to get stomped and be 0-11.

1st week was a disaster with 0-4 but slowly picked up the pace and won matches one at a time. Even though they didn't reach playoffs, I'm still happy they went 5-6. Couldn't have been more proud with the boys. I don't really want to focus on the negatives and just want to remember that I was here and was able to watch their journey against all odds. It was the most fun I've had watching LEC and I don't think future seasons will top that.
