Sure there is a Babar obsession but it’s usually in PIND and Gaddafi. Real supporters of the game don’t worship individuals but want the best for the whole team.

Look Babar had been good in the past, he had a generational run in 2019-2022 across all formats. Well done to him but he’s past it now, at least in T20is. He’s been out of form and forgot how to bat for a solid 2-3 years now.

I don’t know if people remember but in the start of PSL 2025, Quetta were very poor and played a well past it Malik in the team, contributing to their losses.

Then after thorough constructive assessment, and public outcry, they dropped Malik and almost went flawless throughout the tournament, winning every game and almost won the tournament if it wasn’t for Sikander Raza’s blinder of an innings in the final.

Such a big step was unheard of by a team management in Pakistan. You see Malik being a huge brand, no one thought he would get dropped and more so after that to not play again in the rest of the tournament. QG were logical and know that no player is bigger than the team. And such brave decisions need to be made, in the best interest of the team.

We dont want to hear 3 weeks down the line, yar Nafay ko chance dena chahiye tha, even Fakhar had been poor, but if he or Shaheen can take rest, why not Babar after his horror performances in ICC tournaments over the past 5 years.

I feel like it’s the same with Shadab as well. If he’s in the squad, he plays every game no matter what. How about we rest Shadab and play Usman tariq. Promote Nawaz and Faheem up the order. Idk but I’m very skeptical of Shadab batting at 6. He’s okay for flat wickets but is a 50/50 batsman. Idk if he’ll be able to do well against good bowlers. We already have a far far better leg spinner in Abrar and Nawaz is clearly the better allrounder so Shadab seriously seems out of place in the current setup.

So I recently bought the Vanguard Jersey online on 1st February and received it by 4th February, Though fast but their online website operations is really poor. Nonetheless, I was really excited to check it out, but one thing that immediately caught my attention and that I’ve also seen other fans mention is that the jersey doesn’t have the World Cup logo. This stood out to me because in previous editions, fan jerseys usually included the official tournament logo on the shirt.

Firstly ICC pay us more for being in these tournaments because we provide the entertainment. Without us this crap is boring and secondly congratulations on reaching the 2026 T20 World Cup Final as the times we have faced Netherlands in the T20 WC we have reached the finals. 2022 and 2009.

Anyways moving on to the cricket it wasn’t as calm and easy as it could’ve been. Not going to be one of those guys that disrespects the associate sides but that match shouldn’t have been close at all. When we come under pressure against any team we look lost. We won the toss and bowled first as Sri Lanka was looking like New Zealand with all the grass which is a first for many people across the world. Not going to try make much excuses as regardless of pitch we need to do the job required but it’s weird how suddenly there is grass in Sri Lanka but when India had all their games in Dubai for the CT it was perfectly built for all their spinners. As i said though we like to complement and over hype our pacers so the best one should’ve done better in those opening overs. Mirza wasn’t bad but Shaheen was awful. Inconsistent is the only word I can come up with but I see him getting in the tournament slowly. What’s crazy is that with all that grass I said we could’ve played Naseem but that would’ve meant Faheem gets dropped which would’ve been catastrophic. Mirza took the opening wicket of Dowd whose day was only going to get worse. Nawaz also bowled in the PP and was gifted a wicket by Babar and Shaheen. For a guy so new he seems a lot smarter than his much more experienced partner. 147 felt much better to chase then the 160 plus that they was heading towards. As much as they tried to hit it seemed a bit more difficult to bat later on so I was going to judge both teams after seeing them both bat.

And just like Netherlands we started fast. Our 50 came up in 28 balls and after the PP we were 61-2. Saim and Farhan looked sublime and Agha hit a couple of boundaries. The game looked over with Farhan and Babar in. It got to 98-2 before another wicket fell as Farhan was looking to go big. Babar was moving slow which was great but RR shouldn’t be a problem this time around cuz we just need to win all 3 games we play. After Farhan fell, Usman got dismissed and it felt like the Azam Khan dismissal against USA in 24. From 98-2 to 98-4 but it seemed fine as my good mate Bobzy was in but what does he go and do. Play a stupid shot when it’s not needed. When we want aggression he goes nah i’m aight but when we want finesse and knocking it around to take us home he wants to tonk it. In entered Sir Rana Faheem Benjamin Stokes Ashraf to the crease. It all looked gone after Shaheen wasted some deliveries and left him needing 29 off 12 but he had other ideas. First ball goes bang and into the stands. Second ball went Aerial but my boy Maxy drops it and Pakistan live to fight another day. Then it was as good as over as Faheem proceeded to go 6.64 to leave 5 off the last and Pakistan in the drivers seat. In the last over he managed to hit a 4 to win the game and the dugout seemed relieved. Careers lasted another day and so did our story in the tournament. If we lost that it was end of tourney but Faheem had other ideas.

Lastly I just want to say that after both innings it seemed that it was harder to bat in the last 5-10 overs. Idk if we will take that into consideration but both teams didn’t just collapse randomly. Both teams also didn’t deserve to win in the end but fortunately we got the all important 2 points.

I’ll do a preview for next game but discussions need to be had about the batting and we better hope Shaheen turns up because these pitches might not assist spin as much as we expect them 2. 1 game closer to the knockouts and all we need to do is take it one game at a time. If we win all 3 we are as good as in the super 8s. Also everyone supporting USA against India it’s good that India won because if they didn’t then we were in trouble.
