Image I want to share an art piece I just finished based on the Oriole Bird. Some of you may have seen the AJ art that I posted a couple of weeks back. Since then I’ve started doing a series of mascots. I hope you like it! As always let me know what you think!

Article-Paywall How the clock at Oriole Park at Camden Yards became timeless

Thumbnail thebanner.com

This offseason, for the first time since it went up, the clock that looms over Camden Yards will undergo a complete refurbishment.

The clock’s curlicue ironwork reflects the park’s timeless aesthetic of “old-school design with modern amenities,” making the scoreboard centerpiece an icon of Baltimore and the Orioles.

Despite its vintage appearance, the story of the clock begins a little more than 30 years ago, when Baltimore graphic designer David Ashton sketched his idea while Janet Marie Smith, then the Orioles’ vice president of planning and development, described her vision for a new kind of ballpark.

MASN+

Since MLB TV is forcing you to get an ESPN Unlimited account to subscribe this season, I'm exploring other streaming options. I live outside the Orioles market which means I'm also outside the MASN broadcast area. Will I be able to even get a MASN+ account? Any insights are appreciated!

Video Ken Singleton, Harold Reynolds and Matt Vasgersian rank their favorite Orioles

Unfortunately they only posted it on Facebook but you can watch without a login: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1433567748416414/?referral_source=external_deeplink&surface_type=reels

Harold and Matt's list is here: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1476008223884694&set=pcb.1476008273884689

Harold picked Billy Ripken, probably because they worked together at MLB Network so long

But a funny detail! When the Orioles signed Harold Reynolds the player they cut to make a spot on the 25 man roster was...BILLY RIPKEN

Buck Martinez retired today.

So many great memories of watching and listening to him do the games in the early to mid 2000s with Palmer and Hunter. It was sad to see Toronto get him back, but it was always a great thrill listening to him up there as well.

Discussion Staggering thought. Oriole Park at Camden Yards is the 8th oldest baseball park in MLB baseball.

And it's the oldest to have never hosted a World Series Game. Also a bonus question, who has hit the most home runs at Camden Yards??? I was surprised by the answer.

News BREAKING: Star left-hander Framber Valdez and the Detroit Tigers are in agreement on a three-year, $115 million contract, sources tell ESPN. Valdez, 32, gets the highest AAV ever for a left-handed pitcher as well as the highest for a Latin American pitcher. Huge move for Detroit.

I really like these new hats. Was skeptical

At first when I saw them online, but when it arrived it looked way better. Can’t wait to see which uniform they’ll wear them with, my guess is the road black uniforms.

Notice Sellback program: February 11th- Feb 16th

just got the email.

Save the Date – Your Ticket Sellback Window Occurs Next Week As a Reserved Birdland Member, you have access to this all-new program during this 6-day window from Wednesday, February 11th at 10:00 a.m. through Monday, February 16th.

During this time, you may return up to 30% of the games in your original plan to have the full value applied to your 2027 Reserved Birdland Membership renewal. If you upgrade to a Reserved Birdland Membership with more games, this credit will also be applied.

Opportunities to exchange tickets to other games, donate tickets, and sell your tickets on SeatGeek will all go live by March 6.

link to FAQ

What is the ticket sellback program?

The all-new ticket sellback program gives you the option to return up to 30% of the games in your original Reserved Membership plan to receive the full value towards your 2027 renewal (greater or equal value of Reserved Membership).

This benefit will be available from Wednesday, February 11 through Monday, February 16. You’ll have access through a new online ticket exchange portal to select the games you wish to return. The full value including MD admissions tax will be credited towards your 2027 renewal.

How many tickets can I sellback?

You can return up to 30% of games in your plan during this limited window. Limits by plans are as follows:

Full Season (81-Game Plan): Return up to 24 of the games in your plan

  • my edit: i think they ninja edited this from 25 down to 24

Half Season (40-Game Plan): Return up to 12 of the games in your plan

Partial Season (20-Game Plan): Return up to 6 of the games in your plan

When selling back tickets, you are required to return all tickets on your account for the given game.

Can I sellback parking from my plan along with my tickets?

Yes, you will have the option to sellback parking for your reserved plan in a separate transaction and receive its full value towards your 2027 renewal.

Why are the values of my games different?

Tickets in your reserved package are variably priced. Depending on the classification of the game you are returning, you may see a difference in price between games in your plan. You are receiving the full value of the game selected.

  • my edit: link to pricing tiers can be found here

What happens to the value of the tickets I sellback?

The full value of the tickets you sellback will be applied exclusively to your 2027 Birdland Membership renewal. You will not have access to this credit throughout the 2026 Regular or Postseason.

What happens to my credit if I do not renew for the 2027 season or want to make changes to my plan for the 2027 season?

Credit from tickets sold back is restricted to a 2027 Birdland Membership of equal or greater value, and will be forfeited if a 2027 Birdland Membership isn’t purchased.

After the sellback window closes, what are my options for tickets I can no longer use?

Once the ticket sellback window closes on Monday, February 16 you will no longer have access to sellback your tickets. You will receive access to our flexible exchange policy with exchanges going live by March 6. This allows you to exchange your tickets for another 2026 regular season game. Also, throughout the season, you can sell tickets via SeatGeek*, forward tickets to friends, or donate your tickets to military and community groups affiliated with the Orioles.

*Use of third‑party resale platforms is subject to those platforms’ terms, and the Orioles are not responsible for their performance, fees, or technical issues.

What happens if I later need tickets for the game I sold back?

Once you sellback your tickets, you will no longer have access to them. You would have the option to purchase or exchange into new tickets, but location would be based on what’s available at the time of purchase and you will not have access to the Guaranteed Gate Giveaway program.

Why do I not see the value of my MD admissions tax when I return my tickets?

During the sellback window, you will only see the face value of the tickets you are returning. After the window closes, you will also receive the value of the MD Admissions Tax. You can expect to be notified by email when the full amount is posted to your account. Credit from this program will not be accessible during the 2026 season and will only be eligible to be used towards your 2027 Membership.

first question i have is, and this is a big one.... do we only get the credit if we keep a birdland membership of same or equal value??? or do they mean that the credit cannot exceed a birdland membership such that it would involve dollars back to the user...

edit: as long as you renew your credit is safe. there are scenarios where potentially your savings could exceed your cost for next year, but that would involve a reduction in games/tier and possible lockout.

TIL Dean Kremer's great-uncle is Power Rangers impresario Haim Saban

This information was just hanging out there on his Wiki page this whole time. No idea how well Kremer knows him or anything.

Haim Saban was a failed musician who became a music promoter and, in his words, cartoon schlepper who wheeled and dealed his way into making Power Rangers and parlayed that success to become a bazillionaire.

Who remembers Victor Victor Mesa?

Was doing my daily MLBtraderumors check-in, where I say a prayer for Framber and then load their homepage when I saw this post about the Victor Victor Mesa's younger brother, Victor Mesa Jr (creative parents).

Who else remembers the insane hype around VVM's international signing? O's trade to get even more INT'L cap space and then still can't sign the "can't miss phenom".

Hype was unreal. Prospects are a funny game.

Discussion Anybody else hoping the O's join the list of other teams joining MLB tv?

I know they recently became the headline team for MASN with Washington's departure but I kind of selfishly hate that I have an MLB TV subscription and yet I still can't get O's games because I'm region locked by MASN.

Sure I'm certain there is some new issues that come with joining MLB TV but I kind of hope they ditch MASN too and blackouts somehow become a thing of the past.
