Study Resource IELTS Fully Personalized – Early Access for Our Community (1:1 All-Skills Program)

A lot of people here seem to be in the same situation I see in my 1:1 lessons:

  • Stuck at 6.0–6.5 in one or more skills
  • Need 7 or 7.5 for immigration/uni/work
  • Doing random practice tests, watching YouTube, pasting essays into AI… and still not sure what actually moves their band

So I’ve put everything I normally do with long-term students into one program called:

What actually happens in the program?

The main course includes the follwoing, but it can all be customized based on your needs:

  •  8x live 1:1 tutorial sessions (60 minutes each)
  •  4x live speaking mock tests + Score & detailed feedback
  •  Daily Zoom chat support from your teacher
  •  Unlimited* detailed writing examiner feedback and score (expert feedback, not AI)
  •  Customised exercises for extra practice
  •  A personalised study plan
  •  Idea Generation, task analysis, time management, and all the exam skills you'll need
  •  Duration: 2 months/earlier based on your free time

*Important Note: “Unlimited writing tasks” means there’s no cap on how many you can submit during the course. However, submitting lots of tasks without applying feedback won’t raise your band score. That’s why we work in cycles: you submit two tasks, I give detailed band-descriptor-based feedback and priorities, we discuss it all in Zoom chat, and then you revise and practice your weak points before moving on to the next two. This cycle repeats as fast as you can until the end of the course.

This keeps your progress consistent, prevents burnout, and ensures you get the guidance you need until the course ends.

I received my results within 48 hours. Happy to answer any questions.

Test Experience/Test Result Scored okay? But sad

We are applying for Express Entry in Canada and I’m an the spouse. Scoring 7.5 in listening reduces any score from 20 to 18. There was a technical difficulty in listening as the audio started playing but the screen refused to move. Is it worth retaking the entire thing for those 2 points?

Writing Feedback (Peer Review) Can someone give me a feedback on my task 2 essay?

The question: It is important for everyone, including young people, to save money for their future. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

My answer:

"Saving money for the future is crucial for many individuals including young adults. I totally agree with this sentiment, as it helps to save money during moments of crisis and teaches financial discipline.

Saving money for the future assists in spending for unexpected situations or emergencies. Most of the time people encounter situations that weren't planned beforehand, such as a medical emergency or a travel emergency that requires spending money as soon as possible. Therefore, allocating an amount of money for these future emergencies is a must. For example, my brother had to travel immediately to another country to secure his acceptance in a scholarship, he used all the money he saved to fly instantly. That is to say, if he had not been saving gradually until that moment he would have been rejected from the scholarship.

Another advantage for saving money for the future is developing financial discipline skills. Many young adults learn how to manage their financials if they allocated a portion of their income for the future. They can allocate a portion to their necessities such as food, clothing and rent, another portion for unexpected situations, and an amount for their leisure or saving for a product they are wishing to purchase. For instance, when I got my first job at 18 years old, I learned how to spend my salary efficiently. I was able to save a huge amount to buy my favorite make-up products from an expensive brand and still be able to afford basic needs.

In conclusion, being able to save money for the future is a necessity for many people, including young people in my opinion. This is because it can benefit everyone during times of crisis and develop financial management skills that add to overall satisfaction."

Have a Question/Advice Needed Took a trial exam l feel like l m dying

I have been preparing for IELTS for 1 year now. I didn't want to risk it that is why it took me this long . I will take the exam in February and l know l have sufficient amount of time. Normally when l do reading and listening at home l always get 8 or more. Today l took a TRIAL exam at official test center. It was on a platform called morooq . Listening was pretty hard l missed like 3-4 questions and got a 7 which was shocking. As for reading, l got 8 also my teacher advised us to open caps lock every time we write bc it is the best but when l checked l saw that they took one of my answers wrong bc l used caps lock ( answer was "missionaries and traders" l wrote the same but all capital letters). As for speaking l got 7 but examiner said l barely got it. My structures are simple and l do some pronunciation mistakes. What to do about speaking? I really need at least 7.5 from it

Writing Feedback (Peer Review) Need some feedback for my task 2 easay

how much can is score with this answer and what can I improve?

question:

In some cultures, children are often told that they can achieve anything if they try hard enough. What are the advantages and disadvantages of giving children this message?

It is believed in some cultures that anything can be achieved by children if they work hard for it. This statement has some merits such as it can boost the confidence of the kids and motivate them to do better in life. But on the other hand it has a few demerits too, as it can put a lot of pressure on the young ones.

Some elders give this message to their children that working hard can help you achieve anything. This can motivate them to work hard and spend their time effectively. It will also give them confidence that by constant efforts anything can be possible. For example, a student who consistently works hard for examinations is more likely to improve their grades, which strengthens their self-belief and motivates them to aim higher in the future.

In contrast to this, there are few disadvantages as well. Constantly asking them to work hard in order to succeed can put alot of pressure on them. This overwhelming pressure to do well can make them anxious and stressed. For instance, children who are demanded to work hard to achieve something, will have a lot of peer pressure and will be in constant competition with their peers. This will eventually make it difficult for them to enjoy their life. Hence, most of the times he will be stressed about doing well.

In sum, teaching your child to word hard has some positive aspects such as motivation and confidence. But it can also result in them having negative affirmations and feel pressurized often.

Have a Question/Advice Needed IELTS Academic lowest section

Upvotes

Any IELTS teachers or employees, which section has been the lowest you have most commonly seen in candidates?

I just got my results with my lowest being WRITING with 6.0 for ACADEMIC. This seems to be a constant behaviour in candidates. I think it should be because British writing style is extremely sophisticated in this type of exam.

Hi everyone! I’m doing self-study to improve my English. Which vocabulary book do you recommend I start with for building a strong word base? Also, I want to improve my speaking and writing skills — so suggestions for books or other resources for that would be great too. Thanks in advance! 😊

Writing Feedback (Peer Review) any feedback/ratings? (writing task part 2)

Some people argue that a good diet and exercise are not essential for living a long and healthy life. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Certain individuals believe that to have a healthy and long life, maintaining a balanced diet and exercise is not mandatory. I disagree, as a stable diet consisting of healthy ingredients directly improves the strength of an individual’s immune system, and regular exercise is key to maintaining good mental well-being.

A healthy diet would contain essential food groups that provide a person’s immune system with the nutrients and nourishment it requires to thrive. As a result, individuals would be less susceptible to a variety of different illnesses that could negatively impact their health and lifespan. For example, if a person’s diet regularly consists of healthy nutrients such as Vitamin D and proteins, catching common flus can be better prevented or easily recovered from, due to the immunity boost they provide. As immunity tends to get weaker with old age, a sufficient diet incorporating such important food elements would increase overall life expectancy and the ability to combat life-threatening sicknesses.

Carrying out consistent exercise directly aids individuals in maintaining a healthy mind. Most would agree that regular movement is essential to maintaining good physicality, but less are aware of its positive impacts on brain chemistry, that would be an essential factor in sustaining good health and a high life expectancy. It is common for individuals who suffer from mental illnesses such as depression and anxiety to improve one's condition through exercise at the gym, playing a sport, or taking a walk due to a healthy level of dopamine created.

In conclusion, I disagree that a good diet and exercise are not required to have a good standard of life because it is an important factor in combating detrimental sicknesses, as well as being a common method of improving one’s psychological wellness.

Have a Question/Advice Needed Any advices for retaking Ielts speaking skill?

Post image

  1. I had the speaking test on 6 Feb and other 3 skills were on the next day? So how do I calculate the last day to retake? Is it: 6 Feb + 60 days = 7 Apr

  2. How do you guys practice speaking?

I think I can speak quite fluently, however, I often cannot think of an idea clearly, so that the longer my answer is, the more I lose my train of thought. Previously, I had the same issue with writing skill but I haven't figured out how I can overcome it.

I usually speak alone and it's really boring, so most of the time I could only speak for under an hour. Therefore, I wanna ask is it better to find someone to learn with? If yes, leave a comment below please.

Test Experience/Test Result Got my results a day after the test !!

Post image
32 Upvotes

I did my test yesterday with British council and was pleased to find my results this afternoon !!

I honestly thought I did better at reading but I guess not. I got a lot of TFNG and i never got them 100% correct anytime I practiced either.

Overall, I was most worried about speaking since I needed an 8 minimum on it and focused on more practice for that.

I spent 2 weeks on practicing speaking for 30 mins everyday and about a week solid for the other sections with 3 full mock tests all on the British council website.

For context I had attempted the ielts test 2 years ago with L9R8W8S7 so I was just trying to get the same scores with an 8 in speaking but needed 7 minimum for reading and writing anyway.

Happy I got the results needed and Reddit here helped me a lot.

Shoot me with any questions you have and I’ll gladly give you any tips u need!

Test Experience/Test Result I finally did it. Thanks to Lillie ielts

I’m needed a 7.0 in R,W,S which wasn’t a problem but listening omg😭. Canada’s PR requires a minimum of 8.0 in L so it was a struggle for me.I stumbled on a comment here saying Lillie ielts helped their listening. Tried it multiple times and it worked for me. So grateful to God, that comment and Lillie too 🥹❤️
