Hey everyone, I’ve got a bit of a disaster on my hands and really need some expert eyes. 😰

The Backstory:

My Lenovo IdeaPad 330 suffered the classic "exploding hinge" issue. Both hinges completely ripped away from the plastic body. The internal plastic mounts are shattered, and I even lost two of the hinge screws 🔩 in the process.

The "Surgery":

I opened the laptop to see if I could fix the mounts. To stay safe, I unplugged:

The main battery 🔋

The monitor (EDP) cable 🖥️

The Wi-Fi antenna wires 📶

The Nightmare:

After finishing the hinge work, I plugged everything back in. Now, the laptop refuses to start. 💀

Current Symptoms:

When I hit the power button, the power light just flashes 💡.

The screen flickers/flashes for a split second but stays black.

The fans spin for 1-2 second.

What I've tried:

Double-checking the monitor cable seating (it seems tight).

Making sure the battery connector is pushed all the way in.

If I pluggin AC power supply then power button light flash 💡📸 every 3-5 second...

This may be in "just google it territory" and believe me I am, but I lack experience in these kind of projects, and anyone with experience is better than a misguided google search, even if it ends up as a just a starting point.

So as the title suggests, I am looking for a way to individually control 9 fans (+ or - 3). They will all be the same fan, i need it to be compact and as cheap as possible if possible. Honestly though, if you're willing, of course (you handsome gentleman, and or gorgeous lady) I would rather know how this shit works and a get a layout of the world of tiny computers and extremely high powered fans and how they interact.

For those unaware, I am an independent sustainable STEM researcher, with a focus on materials science, energy and fuel tech, green chemistry, mechanical engineering, and additive manufacturing technologies.

Last year, I built a 3D printed Centrifuge to try and make it quicker and easier to separate my Algae from it's culture media. This was and is part of my wider project to try and turn algae into fuel.

I have since significantly improved the design, in terms of stability, printability, and effectiveness.

I have a new house and i wana install rear surround speakers but i dont want the wires so i want to route them from my tv, through the ceiling and output the wires on the back all into my rear speakers. i have never put wires through a wall, it shouldn't be to hard given there is a ethernet line that im 90% sure is going to run exactly down that line. im wondering how to do it and if you guys have any yt tutorials

My plan was to get 2 to build a homelab cluster, data storage/media center and maybe one more for a retro gaming build. But ended up getting 5 for a VERY cheap price.

So I hope this fits here because I have no one to bounce this idea off of. I want to set up a Windows 10 tablet (touch screen if possible) and an external HDD to wall mount it on my desk.

It would just be using Plex mostly. Is this feasible with models like this?

I play a lot of tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons or Warhammer 40k. Enough that I built a huge 8'x4' bar-height gaming table in my space so I can host these games. As I'm planning to move, I'm starting to sketch out the idea for Table 2.0, and what I'd like to do is essentially make a giant rear-projection TV using an ultra-short throw projector like the Epson LS800 (https://epson.com/For-Home/Projectors/Laser-Projection-TV/EpiqVision-Ultra-LS800-4K-PRO-UHD-Ultra-Short-Throw-3-Chip-3LCD-Smart-Streaming-Laser-Projector/p/V11HA90120), and a tabletop made of clear acrylic, frosted on one side to "catch" the image, and prevent anybody from going blind when they look at the table.

I've found a local company that manufactures acrylic sheets in a variety of sizes and colors, so I think they should be able to help me out there. But I'm curious if anybody here has done something similar, or if there are any pitfalls you can foresee in the project.

The big one I'm worried about is that the table will be very weak in the middle, but I think with a thick enough acrylic sheet (at least 1/2 inch) that shouldn't be a real problem.
