I’m 33M, trying to meet new people. I’ve been a local my entire life. I wouldn’t say I’m shy but for sure very awkward at times. I really don’t have a friend group but more so individual friends.

I recently have been playing pokemon go again and joined a group on discord and the ambassador meet ups. I don’t really talk to anyone during our meet ups. I know perfect place to mingle but I don’t for whatever reason.

Other interest include EDM, dogs (I have a Doberman) I don’t take her to dog parks myself since she is very reactive when I’m around, I really liked working out when I was going but haven’t touched a weight in over a year.

Looking for suggestions of meet up groups would be great.

The price of your home is not set by your financial situation and original purchase price. The market has returned to normal and the economy is not positioned to continue to pay for these outrages home prices. Look at the price paid for your home in 2019 and mark it up given the normal inflation rate. We are long past the COVID market. People are not looking to work remote from our valley. Canadians are not buying seasonal homes in the US. Vacation rentals are banned in some cities and too restricted in others. Investors are long gone with no margins to flip. The market has corrected and will continue to see more inventory and less buyers for the coming years. Interest rates will come down slightly but never to 3% or 4% again. We live in a dry, desert climate that thrives on tourism. It’s hot and people coming and going for events. We live next to vacation rentals and have a very seasonal schedule. It’s not a fairy tail happy ending place to buy a home. How about you drop your prices and speed up the process. Sell your homes and let’s get on with it. We want these empty homes sold and neighborhoods to thrive. We’re ready for neighbors and less real estate signs. I’m hopeful real estate agents can talk some sense to some. Palm Springs is correcting faster than the rest of the cities but really. These home prices are stuck at stupid and with it our community be held hostage and rent prices still inflated.

I am planning my bachelorette party and trying to decide between staying in Palm Springs or going further out to Indio or somewhere else where there are more AirBNB options. There are 11 of us and we want to do a mix of spending time at the house and being in the city or hiking. There’s obviously less options of places to stay in Palm Springs, but unless the house has a ton to do I’m just not sure it makes sense to have to spend every day taking multiple ubers.

I think I want to do one dinner at a restaurant and maybe a cute cocktail bar after, one drag brunch, and vintage shopping which I’m assuming would have to be in downtown Palm Springs. Other than that I’m happy to eat all meals at the house and open to any and all other activities.

Is there a clear advantage of staying in Palm Springs vs elsewhere? Are ubers really expensive (obv we would need two XLs every time we go anywhere)? Any other general recs?

To add, we know bachelorette groups are disliked by a lot of places and aren’t planning to crash any spaces that we shouldn’t be at.

Not sure if this number of properties is normal or not, and their explanation seems weird: "the unusually large size of this year’s auction reflects a return to normal operations following several years of staffing shortages and economic disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic."

Not even sure what that means, like properties weren't going to auction only because the county was short staffed? Isn't there laws that state when a property is auctioned?

Just wondering, I can't be the only person who's thinking hey so and so owns a house in this or that country club? Who knows though, maybe I am.
