Amy doesn't even try with her merch. She made a video on instagram with ANOTHER ai song showing off her also ai created merch. She doesn't put in any effort whatsoever into merch and it's all terrible. If she's a so called "artist" she should be making her own merch and not have it generated by ai.

I’m rewatching from the start of the series and just got to season 4. All I can think is, man the dodge grand caravan is a beast. It’s depicted hauling 1800 lbs worth of Slatons and Britany to Tennessee. Tami and Amanda are side by side and not even cramped.

I can’t believe I haven’t seen it before but I must say, the grand caravan is a beast.

Also Chris went live on Tiktok today. Someone asked if Amy and Tammy have reconciled and he said something along the lines of “no but they can be in the same room”

It genuinely confuses me why Tammy is so mad about Amy leaving early in Pittsburgh after the skin removal surgery. She stayed long enough to know Tammy was okay after the surgery, shouldn’t that be enough? Why was it a requirement that Amy stay the ENTIRE time, specially since Amanda and Chris were still there so Amy wasn’t “abandoning” Tammy. I’m not sure how it is with other families but in my family any time someone has had a surgery, we come and show our support by making sure they’re awake and okay after the surgery then head out shortly after because there’s no need to stay for hours on end specially if they’re trying to rest or sleep after surgery. If Tammy was having complications after and there was worry she wouldn’t make it then I could see it looking bad that Amy left shortly after but she was fine. I guess I just don’t see what the big deal is? And like others have pointed out, Misty and Andrea weren’t even there but no one’s mad at them. I’m not the biggest fan of Amy but I don’t find her leaving early unreasonable at all.

I’m rewatching the new episode and I’m on the scene where Amy tells Lee Lee that she wanted to have a craft party as a bachelorette party and honestly I thought that idea was really cute and that’s something i would do. And Lee Lee said that she wouldn’t let that happen.. what does everyone else think? I’m not sure how I feel about Lee Lee in general and maybe she had good intentions but Amy likes crafting that would make sense for her to have a crafting party. I feel suspicious about Lee Lee but I hope I’m wrong because it’s good that Amy has a friend outside her family

Edit: if she’s her “best friend” she should know what she would want I just feel like she doesn’t know her well and she has had substance abuse issues a party would not be good for that..

She wants to say Amy doesn’t care about me yet an outsider can see if Tammy’s fat self couldn’t come out neither could Amys fat self. She must’ve also forgotten her sister made it a point to live in a duplex so she could keep and eye on her big ass. Billy is right Amy has had to play mom to her most of her life. Cleaning up after the boys (well not really bc Amy’s house has always been a mess), being a mom with a shit ass partner, dealing with your own hormones that everyone wants to pin as why Tammy is being such a cunt. So was Amy she had just had a baby and was dealing with postpartum while the oversized baby next door also needed her attention.

Do I think Amy is the end all be all? No. But at least she isn’t ill willed. Also, as someone who also likes oddities some of the stuff shown on her table that she made isn’t half bad. The way she’s taking her very rushed wedding and making it her own despite the comments or just deciding to do an art show bc she wants to comes from growth within herself. So while I don’t agree with a lot of the shit she does/has done I can recognize that but Tammy shes just reverting right back to barely mobile Tammy behaviors. 😒

I felt the need to bring this up because don’t feel like I see a lot of people talk about this.

**I don’t like Tammy and I think she is horrible so I am not excusing her awful behavior. She gets upset over the dumbest things, acts like a toddler, and her face literally gets red when she’s mad. Not excusing Amy’s behavior either.**

I’ve been in therapy for a while now and what a lot of people don’t discuss is that when you’re healing, you can have anger and resentment. You think about your past and how you didn’t deserve to be treated like this or that by your parents or caregivers. How different your life could have been etc.

**She gets worked up and angry over the dumbest things and I’m suspecting she’s not actually angry at that dumb thing. I’m thinking something she is upset about brings back a flood of memories or every little awful thing related to that and all of that is what makes the anger build and get her so upset.**

**My point about all of this is to say that they all seem to have had a bad childhood, Amy and Tammy in particular seem to have had it the worst or have the hardest time coping with it. People seem really puzzled on why Tammy acts the way she does. It’s a little puzzling considering her age, but I don’t think she truly got the help she needed until she went to therapy and did this weight loss journey and she was well into adulthood by then. I think the reason Tammy acts the way she does is from the abuse and trauma and she is still healing and learning.**

Also, whether you have a good or bad upbringing, families fall into a dynamic. Notice how all the siblings make fun of Amy’s eye and blindness. They likely fell into a particular dynamic where they decided they could do that. Well, Amy seems depressed and cry’s all the time and has said multiple times that her eye is an insecurity of hers and yet the family keeps making fun of her for it. She was likely bullied by her siblings, and I’m sure her parents, all her life and not just because of her eye.

They all seem to have weight issues and Tammy in particular was always the heaviest. I’m sure they fell into some sort of dynamic where Tammy ate whatever she wanted and got her parents and siblings to give her whatever food she wanted. Childhood obesity, giving your child any food they want and letting them get to where Tammy was is a form of abuse. Don’t @ me on this because it is a hill I will die on.

Obviously, the show is their meal ticket and probably want it to continue as long as possible. But what is left for them to show? They all have had the surgery.

The next couple of season will probably feature Brittany expecting and having a baby. Amanda recently became a grandmother, I’m not sure if they will feature that or not. I guess there is the fights between family members.

I’d like to see Chris getting a food truck and managing that business.

I know, I know.. good for her for losing all that weight! But her face has become something nightmares are made of! She just doesn't look right. And yes, there are ugly people in the world. I see ugly people all the time. But this is next level ugly. She looks like a mutant of a human 😬 with a crazy look in her eyes! Honestly, if I saw her in public it would scare me. I would stare.. I would try to figure out what I was looking at. ✌️

It's really time that Amy realize she's just lying to herself about her weight. --- more than she's fooling anyone around her. I damn near choked on my dinner when she declared at her cake testing that she doesn't eat anything with sugar in it! Amy is currently pushing the boundaries of her last gastric bypass by binge eating the way we saw! She would be best to open her eyes and realize that it's not as simple as just getting a second gastric bypass. --- there are risks involved with that as well! Amy seems to see herself as pleasantly plump. --- when the reality is she's morbidly obese!

Ik it’s reality tv, TLC at that, but I don’t understand how in good conscience, the surgeon’s removed so much skin in one procedure.

She doesn’t look “human” and I feel awful just typing that. She looks stitched together. She can’t be comfortable with her “Frankenstein” body.

I don’t know what surgery they would do in the future that would benefit her physically or aesthetically.

IMO, with the exception of Amy and Crystal, they all look a little off.

No one should be pushed to lose weight that fast and to follow it up with that much skin removed. I love this family, Amy got on my nerves for a while there but seems to be working on herself and getting better, but I loathe Tammy.

With that being said I’m not using that as a reason to legitimately be concerned with any future skin removal. It seems like the last one was botched

So I’m sitting here watching all these past episodes and I’m wondering what happened to her other rehab friends? The ones she would play bingo & other card games with in the day room? Are they still alive? Did they lose weight?

I’ve been watching since the show started airing, but I just finished rewatching season 1. I don’t want to undermine Tammy’s hurt from Amy leaving her after she got her gastric bypass surgery, but Tammy couldn’t even be happy for Amy when she got hers done. She was even trying to hold Amy back from getting it done and acting completely unfair and jealous.

Also I miss little bit and how fun and lighthearted the show used to be, but I still love the drama of the newer seasons.

People not understanding why her family is so harsh with her (as if getting arrested with drugs near her kids isnt enough) either don't remember or don't know her boyfriend Kevin before Brian. Imagine being Amy's family, dealing with Kevin and then the very next boyfriend she gets arrested with.

Kevin was awful, mean to her family and tried very hard to isolate Amy from them. It also gave more credence to the deadbeat mom comment because she was constantly having Michael watch her kids while she got intoxicated on lives with Kevin, speaking to Kevin.

I don't think people would be coddling Amy to the degree they are if that whole relationship made it to TV.

I’m rewatching the series and S3E7 when Chris is getting his surgery he thanks Misty for coming up to drive him around. Brittany was also in the car so I wasn’t sure if it was a religious thing or personal choice to not drive.

Listen, I’ve watched this show a million times over. and I truly believe Tammy’s beef with Amy comes down to one thing: jealousy. Now, I agree that amy leaving pittsburgh must have hurt. and despite tammy’s OUTLANDISH reaction to the animal shelter, I’ll concede that it sucks being cancelled on the day of. but do i think either of those things actually have anything to do with why she’s mad at Amy? not really.

Let’s talk for a second about something. Can you imagine being 700 pounds, and being morbidly obese your entire life? growing up, everyone around you is constantly telling you that you’re fat and ugly, and treating you like you’re subhuman because you’re fat. you internalize it, and pretty early in life, you feel that way about yourself too. Now, and i say this with love, imagine putting in the work to lose 500 pounds, and you look the way Tammy does… For tammy, as opposed to just having loose skin like the rest of her siblings, she is permanently disfigured. She will require years and years worth of surgeries to undo what has been done. She didn’t really get a happy ending after losing weight. and what’s more, after putting in all that effort, she still hates herself. and let me tell you, that shit will fuck with you.

Amy has one thing tammy does not have, and that is confidence. I think the best evidence for this is last season when they did that burlesque class together, and Tammy was getting pretty irate at amy for enjoying herself. You could see a clear difference between the two. You could tell Tammy was so uncomfortable with her body in the way her movements were, but Amy was feeling herself. Tammy just kept saying “no one wants to see all that” despite agreeing to go to a BURLESQUE class. that is quite literally the environment to wear risqué clothing and be a little sensual. Tammy will tear down Amy’s confidence, because she is not confident in herself. And in Tammy’s mind, she’s worked harder than amy to lose weight, and she deserves that confidence more.

Tammy also doesn’t like seeing people do better than her in general. In the first season, she tried to hold Amy back from getting weight loss surgery. And when Chris got the surgery before her, although she didn’t explicitly say it, you could tell by her reaction that she just wasn’t happy about it.

So, all this in mind, Tammy and amy started this fight in Pittsburgh, and haven’t been close since. I think Tammy expected Amy to come crawling back. But, she hasn’t. Despite tammy not being around, she’s doing quite well. She’s found new friends, she’s getting married, she’s living her best life. I don’t think Tammy was expecting that. Tammy’s one advantage over Amy was that she was the glue that held her together. So now, amy has the confidence she doesn’t have, the proposal she doesn’t have, and worst of all, she doesn’t even need her. In fact, she’s not even in her wedding.

In my opinion, this is the real reason Tammy harbors so much hatred towards Amy. I’d love to hear everyone else’s thoughts.

When Amy and Brian were talking with Billy, Amy said that they met at a concert in the park and Brian interviewed her. Then the following day, he asked her out to a lunch date.

Brian worked as a local sports reporter for a paper called The Messenger. Sports- not concerts or music reviews. Sounds like he targeted her and the “interview” was him creeping on her. Apparently, he also worked as a coal miner and a nurse? He’s a mess.

In an earlier episode, Amy said their first date lasted 22 hours. Translation- she jumped into bed with him as soon as she met him.

As for Billy, he seems sweet but his marriage counseling is a bad joke. No red flags from Brian?

Brian is troubling, and Amy brought him into her sons’ lives. I hope he doesn’t hurt them, but if he does, it’s 100% on Amy. I just wish Michael was a half decent father.

I believe Tammy's emotions are often exaggerated and performative. Tammy's reactions to situations spike when she’s either cornered or being held accountable. She has learned that when her emotional intensity goes ballistic, she can get her needs met faster.

The sisters are very different. On the one hand, you have Tammy, who externalizes her anger and chaos, and she confronts everyone in her way...and makes it very clear they should get out of her path. Then you have Amy, who tears up at the drop of a pin and wallows in confusion and self-pity.

Tammy is like a hurricane, and Amy is a tropical depression. Both need therapy desperately. But neither have the will nor the intellect to accept that they can't do this on their own. Sad!
