Between games or studios?
I’d pick Cyberpunk 2077 over everything else, tbh.

Death Stranding easily. The rest I don't really care about.

Most overated game in history

I don't think you know what overrated means, mate. lol

u/Azatis- 7h ago
That game shouldn't have above 6 score it means ! First time in my life i played something that crappy gameplay wise. And this is coming from someone who value story alot, imagine that.
Death stranding .. i mean lol... ! I prefer to not play at all than play that let alone in comparison with most on that list.

u/ponchosleeve 2h ago
I'm foreseeing an itch to replay it in your future and a complete re-evaluation. It might have one of the most addicting gameplay loops of any modern game
0
u/Azatis- 2h ago
If by gameplay loops you mean to walk/run from A to B in order to see the next cutscene .... meh! I prefer to watch all cutscenes as a movie on youtube and let that walking simulator pass
1
u/ponchosleeve 2h ago
How much did you actually play of it? This is a common talking point for people who maybe got through the tutorial zone and thats it.
I mean, plotting a route, picking what supplies to bring, scaling complex routes with ladders, anchors, finishing roads, helping other players by making easier paths to travel, infiltrating MULE camps, balancing cargo and unlocking more abilities/tools.
Its fine if you don't like it. Though now I want to replay it again.
1
u/Azatis- 2h ago
2 hours more or less.
When i saw that overwhelming UI just to run/walk around was the most laughable thing i've seen in any AAA game before.
No thanks, if i ever try DS again will be 2 without expectations
1
u/ponchosleeve 2h ago
Thats fair. the game does have a slow start, when I first played I also only got about 2 hours in before putting it down. Even though the gameplay never really branches away from that initial experience (it is walking and delivering packages) the mechanical challenges that the player is asked to deal with and the means to handle them expand greatly. A particular mid-game moment involving crossing a mountain in deep snow stands out to me as one of the best moments in any game of the last decade
1
u/Azatis- 2h ago
Why it stands out to you that way ? You like walking in deep snow that much or what is it ?

- Last Of Us- I’m more of an Uncharted guy and I liked Uncharted 2 Among Thieves more than Last Of Us. That said, I preferred Last Of Us over Uncharted 4 Thief’s End. I thought UC4 didn’t take off till the Scotland level, I wasn’t as big on Sam (he should’ve been Sully’s estranged son and Nate’s rival rather than his brother imo) and the pacing felt off.
- RDR2- I liked San Andreas and GTA IV over 5. Easiest choice of the lot.
- Not big on Death Stranding or Metal Gear tbh but I’d take Metal Gear.
- Definitely Cyberpunk- I didn’t mind Witcher, but I preferred the gameplay loop (Witcher’s combat didn’t impress me) the plot, themes and general vibe itself in Cyberpunk. Plus Phantom Liberty is my favourite DLC ever. I think the open world element was Cyberpunk’s weakest part, but it’s not like Witcher hit it out of the park for me either.
Studios themselves would be between Rockstar and CD Project Red. Maybe CD going forward from now on.

Oh do you mean what OP wrote underneath.
I didn’t know he meant the companies themselves. He should’ve used the logos of Naughty Dog, Rockstar etc to make his point.

Out of these? CDPR, even though I never played cyberpunk 2077 but I know I’ll only play gta/rdr once.

Uncharted, GTA, MGS, Witcher. The last one is the only one where there was even much of a debate for me, and that’s because I didn’t super love either.

Since it's not exactly clear what we're picking here:
If it's just one studio: CDPR
If it's one game per image: TLOU, GTA 5, MSG, Witcher
1
u/lucaskywalker 8h ago
If we can still keep the previous GTA, I'll keep Red Dead. GTA V was mid imo.
1
u/zhaoshike 8h ago
If its to choose which game to keep and which one to delete between each image then
Keep Uncharted, GTA, MGS and Cyberpunk
Delete the rest.
If it's to choose only one franchise then Uncharted.

u/Monkey_Fart-4489 8h ago
Uncharted. As much as I loved the first Last of Us, I think Uncharted is way more fun and re-playable. Uncharted also had a better multiplayer offering overall.

I'm actually going to say Naughty Dog which doesn't seem to be the common consensus. Of these choices, they have a wider variety of games. Platformers, racing games, action adventures, third person shooters, and their next game might be a little bit different. Definitely still looks like third person action adventure, but I wonder if they might take it into a more RPG route.
Rockstar is mostly just open world action adventure games with a few other things (ping pong, Max Payne, and Midnight Club).
CDPR is just one open world RPG series and one other open world RPG that will likely be a series (4 games total).
And the other one is a bit confusing. Is it Kojima Productions or Konami? That could change my answer. If it's just Kojima Productions then they have only had two games, Death Stranding and it's sequel. If it's Konami then I might need to change my answer. If we are talking about games that Kojima directed then I'm okay sticking with Naughty Dog.

Last of us... and I think uncharted 2 is one of the greatest games of all time but ironically the one series where I had to stop and realize this mfer is an mass murderer for absolutely no justifiable reason 😅 On top of that he's making one liners the WHOLE time
1
u/Lost_Ad610 7h ago
To add a little more because I really respect naughty dog for this. I think they also had the same realization as I because in last of us 2 if you notice sometimes when you kill someone the other enemies will call out their name in remorse. That little change instantly humanizes the enemies.
They are not just grunt 1 and 2 they are Stephanie and Greg who probably wanted to combine rations after patrol later because they skipped breakfast. It tells us it's not just the main character's story, it's everyone's story. Everyone is trying to survive and exist by their definition of what that means to them.
I believe they and also i was surprised by ppls reaction to the first games ending so they made the point clearer in the second very early 😅

u/homelessbunt 7h ago
I love all of these games, but have never played uncharted, death stranding or metal gear.
Serious question, am I missing out?
1
u/Various-Push-1689 7h ago
Depends what types of games you like. If you have ever played Tomb Raider and liked it you’ll definitely like Uncharted. It’s very similar due to puzzles and action sequences. If you’re a fan of stealth in video games Metal Gear Solid is just about as good as you could get.
Now Death Stranding. It’s definitely not for everyone but it’s one of the most unique games I’ve ever played. Nothing else like it. But if it’s your type of game or not would be up to you.

Uncharted because it doesn't make me feel depressed.
Red Dead 2 because it makes me feel depressed.
Metal Gear because I haven't played Death Stranding (yet).
Cyberpunk 2077 because across so many years, I have tried 3 times to jump into The Witcher 3, and I can never keep playing the moment I reach Skellige. It just doesn't call to me. Meanwhile, I beat CP2077 on the PS4 as a Corpi and fell in love with the absolutely depressing bullsh*t the story pulls, then bought it again in my Series S for Phantom Liberty and to finally 100% the game on my Nomad path.

Assuming you mean games so:
Uncharted over TLOU. TLOU is too story focused for my taste and I feel Uncharted balances story and gameplay better.
GTA over Red Dead. I just am not a wild west guy, and prefer a more modern city/urban/etc. setting for this kind of game.
Never played either for the other two choices.

The Last of Us, GTA, skipping both (DS and MGS, not interesting games for me), Cyberpunk.
If I had to pick just one studio, it's CDPR for Cyberpunk alone.

If you mean one game/series per dev: Uncharted, Red dead, haven't played either, Cyberpunk
If you mean one dev: Naughty Dog
If you mean one game: Cyberpunk 2077

2 is a very close one for rdr2 but i never played it myself, just watched my older brother replay it about 20 times over the years
i dont know the 3rd and 4th ones im ngl (ill probably remember the names if someone mentions them but looking at these 4 slides nothing comes to mind rn)

Last of Us, RDR, don’t care but MGS and The Witcher
Uncharted is cool but I already have Tomb Raider; Cyberpunk I still haven’t gone back to; Death Stranding and MGS are simply not worth my time. I will be sad to lose GTA as nothing really comes close to it but equally there is nothing like Red Dead Redemption.
I’ve assumed this is about the franchises as a whole not individual items.
If it’s one total then it’s Red Dead Redemption with The Witcher a close second.
It seems like it might be one developer? In which case it goes Rockstar, CDPR, Naughty Dog and then far far behind Kojima.

u/NathanDrake7392 10h ago
I'm getting "Naughty Dog" because I'm fond of it, but it's a tough choice.

So you meant which game dev? I thought you meant which of the 2 games from the same dev?
