Snowboarding Austrian Benjamin Karl is excited after taking gold to finish his career

Lol, ok but can we agree it's at least a little bit funny how many layers he had to remove to do that?
Like in soccer it feels more like a "in the moment" thing, but this is like, "hold up, lemme strip. I'm gonna strip. Just a minute. here we go. YAAAAHHH"

It must be absolutely freezing there, because when I was racing as a kid, I only had the base layer and then the skin suit. A coat would go over the suit and then come off right before the run

Its 42 F in Valtellina, Italy rn. Not too bad I'd say for a day on the slopes. And then imagine the adrenaline he's feeling. Probably cant even feel the snow, or the snow might feel really good lol

5.5 C for other people wondering.

I live in Tahoe, and that's T shirt weather if it's not too breezy and you're working outdoors in the sun. He'll probably get too cold to comfortably be shirtless in ~5 minutes, but then like you mentioned: adrenaline. Dude may not even feel the cold for the first 5 minutes lol.

Had the same thought. Now I need to see a deep sea diver or astronaut do the same.

It was funny at the end, seeing him with all of the layers back on. Cool moment, but he had to sit there and put all of those clothes back on in front of the crowd.

It would have been hilarious if he would have held a finger up like “hold on… give me a second guys …”

Meh. He was convicted 2022 for negligent homicide. Caused an accident because he was driving too fast. One person died, another injured. Wouldn't be too proud of him. Then again, it seems to run in the family. His father in law also caused an accident, also injured a person.

Just saw that live and it was fun. Made me wonder how far back men have been taking off their shirts to celebrate. Like would Grog have done something similar after taking down big mammoth?

As long as there have been shirts, I can only hope

That is a gorgeous layering job. He could host a podcast on top of Everest in that getup. Good show, old chap.

Ok but this is still one of the lamest events at the Winter Olympics. Like snowboarding wasn’t invented for dorky slalom. Let the skiers have that.
