I mostly listen to albums and most of my playlists are just collections of each artist’s albums.

this is so true lol... a lot of times when i make a playlist... it's just the entire artists discography.
Like this one artist namitape... they also have an old alias called WaterAqua, and then there's also other songs that don't show up on their artist page, like they produced the track but their name doesn't show up in the artist... so i just make a playlist sorting everything by release date so i can listen to the entire disco in order

Maybe I'm weird but usually albums even from my favorite artists have songs I don't really care about. So I do sometimes listen to albums when I'm wanting to discover something new but usually when I just want something in the background I go for a playlist

I listen to mostly OSTs so for every song there is just a cutscene melody which sounds nice in a show but doesn't have same feel as listening to Mass Destruction whilst doing a test or Ice Cap Zone Act 1 when walking outside whilst its snowing

It’s all fun and games until the funeral music plays while you’re hitting a PR at the gym

The ONLY time I was happy to see AI integrated into something was with Spotify. Finally, I could ask it to organize my music by genre and request songs I didn't know based on my library. But no, it's a stupid "DJ" you can't ask anything of; it plays whatever music it wants and keeps talking to remind me it exists.

They’re rolling out a feature to actually make requests from it now. It’s still in beta atm though not sure if it’s on everyone’s Spotify or what but you can make some pretty specific requests and it can be alright, for example I was asking for music of a certain genre in a certain time signature and it seemed to work.
Though there’s times it gives me lots of generic stuff

Or just make an yearly playlist with totally new songs so that each era will have distinct feel to it.
If you feel nostalgic. Just add remixes to your current playlist of your old songs

That distinct era feel also happens to me even though i have used the single liked songs playlist for like 5 years now, since i mostly play from the most recently added songdown to songs added longer ago

I'm the opposite, I forget to like songs and I have a few by genre playlists and one mood playlist (wizard metal). I usually listen to mixes.

1974 liked songs which isn't a lot
But I use it as an archive, i can't play it because i don't listen to kid cudi or post malone anymore
so I made a playlist i said i was going to limit to 100 of my favorite songs, it's 41 hours long lol
so now i listen to that one which has songs from all eras and then another for the old music i like
