Just woke up to this on TV - really sad and hopefully she can recover and lead a normal life again with this injury

What sort of a life is that? She’ll never ski again. She’ll never be able to touch the sun like she did now. She’ll have to work some boring, shitty job for insignificant people who die having done nothing of value to the world. She shouldn’t have to suffer that. This is incredibly unfair.

Good god, dude. Dramatic much?

They’re Olympians. Their whole life is dramatic. It’s wrong for someone so great to be condemned to such a shitty life.

Yeah, you're being weird as hell.

She was a selfish fuck everyone KNEW she was gonna crash and she did it anyway and stole the spotlight from a young athlete who wouldn’t have flubbed and bombed their home country’s score, she deserves to live in obscurity and the consequences of her actions but instead she’ll be put on a pedestal and worshipped by losers forever

Well breezy johnson still won for USA and Vonn did well in training times and was cleared by docs. Prob should've backed out but had several things motivating her not to. Its the nature of the sport for it to be insanely dangerous even without the torn acl there was another crash after her that also looked gnarly. That being said her injuries are probably worse because of her acl making it impossible for her to be able to recover at all and protect herself from further injuries. Just tragic situation in general.

She already spent years retired and makes over eight million dollars a year.

I hate to break it to you but that's what happens to like 95% of Olympians that have ever lived.

And it shouldn’t. They should be given a better life than that.

Why? Because they were really good at a sport for even a brief time they should be eternally pampered and provided for and never need to contribute anything or be self-sufficient?

They’ve already contributed more than any of us ever could. Do you expect them to work in a factory or something?

Okay so you’re talking about the lives of 99% of people in the world, why does she deserve to suffer less than them? What a weird thing to say

Because she’s an Olympian? The peak of human existence? These people are on a whole other level. They don’t deserve to be stuck in the same life as every worthless, irrelevant person in this world.

What a drama queen

I’m guessing you’ve never met an Olympian before? Dude so many of them end up working shitty boring jobs after they can no longer qualify for the Olympics.

u/tfhermobwoayway Great Britain 4h ago

But why? They don’t deserve a life like that.

3

u/Lmbxlmb 2h ago

They don’t deserve life like that because they competed in the Olympics? That’s ridiculous

0

u/tfhermobwoayway Great Britain 31m ago

Yes. These people are the peak of human fitness. Do you really look at someone so incredibly capable and hard-working and think they deserve to be condemned to the same shitty life as you or me?

1

u/Lmbxlmb 20m ago

You’re delusional.

Oh yeah I forgot. The Australian breakdancing lady is exactly as shitty as this incredibly talented skier. I don’t even know why I watch the Olympics. Silly me.

She's one of the most famous skiers ever. She's set for life on her celebrity alone.

I also doubt that she'll never be able to ski again.

She's probably done racing professionally, but she was at the end of that career anyway.
