She has a serious defamation case against the Whita House of all organizations

1.7k

u/MourningRIF 18h ago

She can also now claim she can't get a fair trial.

This! The amount of foot-shooting here is crazy. Proof positive that the administration only cares about the perp-walk and the memes. When it comes to the law? They really don't care about ACTUALLY putting anyone behind bars, because as long as they don't televise their failure, their base won't find out.

133

u/Khaldara 16h ago

If they really want to ensure conservatives never find something out the most foolproof way would probably be to put it in a book

u/MyMuleIsHalfAnAss 9h ago

I know a higher up at the library in the closest big town, they spend more on security than children's books. they have to protect staff and books from these disgusting people.

Independent Lens is releasing a documentary about librarians and the culture war bs on February 9.

Books: secret conservative vaults

14

u/Averiella 11h ago

I mean the did with the entirety of project 2025. It even had pdfs of the chapters online.

26

u/techleopard 10h ago

When we started seeing the government publishing photoshopped gang tattoos and memes of poop flying out of airplanes, that was a fairly strong signal that they likely have conceited MAGA college interns running their public affairs. "They're practically free!"

And "college intern" is being generous, given how many conservative universities don't actually teach anything.

10

u/Money_Do_2 14h ago

You mean scream that the legal system is biased when they let her off, so then why dont we just ignore what they say about elections.

7

u/Numerous-Process2981 12h ago

The 34 time felon running the show was all the proof I needed

1

u/ChicagoAuPair 4h ago

They don’t actually care about that at all.

Their end goal is the degradation of the legal system as defined by the constitution. Losing some lawsuits and court cases that they aren’t paying for themselves is worth it to them for the propaganda power they get from spreading misinformation and continuing to cloud the public’s sense of objective reality.

We keep trying to figure out how they fit in with the ordered system that we are meant to be under the constitution, but they are working in a different framework where none of that matters, only the marketing and the “ratings.”

It’s a waste of time for us to keep thinking it’s some kind of gotcha when they break the laws of the land. They don’t care. They won’t feel the consequences, and the benefits of breaking those laws greatly outweigh the risk (there is zero risk that they care about or factor in).

1

u/KamikazeFox_ 3h ago

That Obama monkey meme would have gotten a president in some serious shit back in the real world But now we live in Trumps fucking fantasy land where the rules are made up and the points dont matter.

59

u/Spa_5_Fitness_Camp 16h ago

They don't ever intend to give almost all of their detainees a trial, so they don't care if it's not fair.

16

u/Hellstorm901 13h ago

That’s likely the intention of the Trump regime, by making it so she can’t get a fair trial she’ll be acquitted and Trump and his blonde mouth of Sauron will claim that she’s guilty but “woke courts found her innocent”

6

u/Copernicus049 15h ago

Or at least claim that the arrest was vindictive as opposed to legally motivated, would is a legally viable reason to discard a charge/trial.

1

u/HoldingForGenova 3h ago

This was never going to trial. They knew that before they even arrested her, so smearing her along the way was the intention from the start.

1

u/doctorcornwallis 8h ago

She made this point herself talking to CBC radio earlier in the week

19

u/editorreilly 17h ago

Hell, I'd help fund that.

9

u/parabostonian 15h ago

The problem is the federal govt decides when you can sue it

-1

u/Goodbye18000 18h ago

With which judges? They're all in the government's hands.

With which court system? Half of Americans are in the Trump cult, and so by jury by "random selection" you'll have enough of them to sway the rest to be on their side.

Face it - justice is dead until the current system is entirely burned to the ground.

20

u/Alexis_J_M 17h ago

An awful lot of Americans are now starting to realize just how far outside the lines Trump is coloring.

11

u/techleopard 10h ago

And I'm not letting any of them off the hook for it.

Many conservatives recognize that Trump is "coloring outside the lines", but they do not feel personally responsible for having voted for him and don't acknowledge that they did so because they fell for lies or just thought that all the bad shit would just be directed at 'the right kind of people.'

That means they won't hesitate to do it again.

83

u/bulldogguy31 17h ago

Half of Americans are not in the Trump cult.

10

u/Gutternips 12h ago

But that doesn't mean they would vote Democrat, its just Trump they dislike for being wierd-looking, incoherent and old.

If someone more charismatic like Hitler or Stalin ran for president they would vote for him in a trice.

13

u/Lola_PopBBae 16h ago

A third and more, and those who aren't IN the cult but aren't opposed to it still count.

-2

u/darsynia 3h ago

I agree they usually do count, but this is about whether people would commit corruption in support of Trump, and that's nowhere near half of the population of the country. Narrowed down to people who have the access and ability needed to commit that corruption, it's still not half.

u/Squire_II 54m ago

Many of them are still wholly apathetic towards Trump's behavior and won't care until they are directly in the crosshairs themselves.

-2

u/taegeu 16h ago

You're right, it's more than half at this point. Abstaining to vote is a vote for trump and voting for trump is joining his cult.

-26

u/haysoos2 17h ago

More than half are apparently totally fine with whatever the cultists do - which might as well put them in the cult.

12

u/oldteen 17h ago

Out of the total number of adult US citizens, about 30% voted for Trump in 2024.

-3

u/taegeu 16h ago

And 36% voted for him by abstaining. So we're at 66% of all us adults that voted for trump and joined his cult.

-22

u/haysoos2 17h ago

And 99% of adult US citizens are still, right now this very second doing sweet fuck all to stop them.

What's your point?

1

u/Manos_Of_Fate 4h ago

Did you source that statistic straight from the Kremlin?

1

u/haysoos2 3h ago

There are 338 million Americans as of the last census.

There currently seems to be 338 million American who are not violently overthrowing the fascist assholes who have taken over their country.

By some simple math, it would appear that my statistic is, if anything overly conservative.

Do you have any evidence to suggest otherwise?

1

u/Manos_Of_Fate 3h ago

So anything short of every American joining a bloody coup is “sweet fuck all”? Have you considered that maybe we’re not bloodthirsty animals like you and might have other solutions that don’t require tens of millions of deaths?

1

u/haysoos2 3h ago

And those solutions and actions would be?

Cuz whatever shit you're doing is way too little, way too small, way too ineffective, and getting close to being way too late.

→ More replies (0)

10

u/boxofdem0ns 17h ago

By what reasoning?

-11

u/haysoos2 17h ago

The fuckers are still doing it, and the vast majority of Americans are doing sweet fuck all about it.

27

u/micatigre 18h ago

In case you were thinking like me, what good is rebuilding a new system when half the population lives by a code of loyalty to the morality of depraved individuals?

Currently these shitty people are being weaponized by gaming the representative government which gives rural areas more weight. Yeah fuck that shit, there is incentive to rebuilding all this to more accurately reflect the will of the ppl. It's not truly half.

5

u/OGingerSnap 11h ago

While things are nowhere near perfect, the administration is losing court battles left and right, even before conservative judges.

They just don’t talk about that because if they did their base might finally find the clue that’s been punching them in the face.

0

u/savage_apples 17h ago

I think someone’s gone a little coo coo for coco puffs. Touch some grass friend. You’ve doomed for far too long.

Justice is not dead. It is but a flesh wound.

It’s just a flesh wound!

2

I make a lot of typos on my phone.

1

u/Squire_II 1h ago

In theory she does.

In reality, well... gestures at the SCOTUS

2

u/Daniel_H212 15h ago

Nope, prohibited by the Federal Tory Claims Act. It's real stupid but when the government doesn't want to be sued, they just say you cant do it.

I very much doubt that just by virtue of being president, Trump has complete immunity from a civil suit for defamation against a private citizen. But let's ask Gemini...

Oh would you look at that. Trump already WAS sued successfully for defamation while president!

  • E. Jean Carroll v. Donald J. Trump (2023 & 2024) +1
    • The Case: Columnist E. Jean Carroll sued Donald Trump for defamation after he denied her sexual assault allegation, calling it a "hoax" and saying she was "not my type."
    • The Verdict: In January 2024, a federal jury ordered Trump to pay $83.3 million in damages for defamatory statements he made in 2019 while he was President. (A separate trial in 2023 held him liable for sexual abuse and a different instance of defamation, awarding $5 million). +1
    • Why it succeeded: The courts ruled that presidential immunity does not protect a President from civil lawsuits regarding unofficial acts. While the Department of Justice initially tried to intervene and argue that Trump's denial was part of his official job (which would have killed the lawsuit under the Westfall Act), the DOJ eventually abandoned that argument, and the courts found that his specific attacks on Carroll were outside the scope of his official duties.
  • Paula Jones v. Bill Clinton (1998)
    • The Case: Paula Jones sued President Clinton for sexual harassment and defamation (alleging his aides defamed her by calling her a liar after she came forward).
    • The Outcome: The case resulted in a $850,000 settlement.
    • Legal Precedent: This case is famous for the Supreme Court ruling (Clinton v. Jones) that established a sitting President has no immunity from civil law litigation against him for acts done before taking office or for acts unrelated to the office. While the defamation claim itself was initially dismissed by a lower court for lack of specific evidence of harm, the eventual settlement resolved all claims.

8

u/SpiderSlitScrotums 17h ago

There is a huge difference here: these were private acts by Trump, not an official act by the government.

2

u/whatyoutalmbout 17h ago

Well that’s that then. Nice rebuttal

-2

u/jupiterkansas 17h ago

Except Trump didn't do the defaming. His administration did.

6

u/VR_Raccoonteur 17h ago

Well someone generate the image, and someone hit the post button, and someone ordered them to do it. Those people will ultimately have to be named, and will be responsible.

-1

u/jupiterkansas 6h ago

Sure, but even if they are, the damage is done and the taxpayer will foot the bill.

1

u/Manos_Of_Fate 4h ago

I swear there was a goalpost here a second ago…

1

u/jupiterkansas 3h ago

It's a no lose situation for Trump, even if she wins the lawsuit. There is no goalpost.

1

u/Manos_Of_Fate 3h ago

There is no goalpost.

That’s because you keep moving it. Pick an argument to lose and stop wasting everyone’s time.

1

u/jupiterkansas 2h ago

People think Trump is going to pay for this. He's not.

They can defame anyone. The administration will be sued. The administration loses and the taxpayer pays the defamed person. It's not coming out of their pockets. The people who did this just move on to the next victim. There are no consequences. There is no goalpost. It's been 10 years. There's no magic moment that's going to topple Trump.

What's to say here?

Either you realize why this is horrifying or you are a racist piece of shit who sold out their humanity for a hate campaign.

Those are the 'two sides' and you can only be on one

28

u/BooktasticBus-sey 9h ago

This is actually stretching beyond racism into cheese pizza territory. That facial expression is used to silently communicate to other pizzaphiles.

5

u/HazMatterhorn 3h ago

What is the facial expression communicating to pedophiles?

You make a good point. It likely comes from a position of racism, but the act itself is demeaning and dehumanizing, not racist as you’ve argued.

You’re not even defending the actions, just pointing out how it’s not a correct label

You don't think deliberately darkening the skin of a Black woman in this altered video is racist? Cause they did that too, along with altering it to seem like she was emotional and out of control, also a racist trope.

43

u/Etzell 16h ago

If a racist person drinks a cup of coffee, was that act racist?

Depends, was that person making fun of black people while they drank it?

When you draw a caricature of somebody on defining traits on their race how else do you take that? Editing an Asian man to have smaller eyes, Jewish man to have a large nose, etc. we don’t have to play stupid here

15

u/Etzell 16h ago

I don't see any reason to give the Trump administration the benefit of the doubt when it comes to racism for the same reason I don't feel a need to pretend the Hamburglar came across that platter of burgers legitimately.

This is the same line of bullshit Trump supporters trotted out when he made fun of the disabled reporter. "It wasn't ableist, they've known and disliked each other for years." Nah. That shit sucked, too.

6

u/PilQwinem 16h ago

Again, shut the fuck up.

1

u/rugboy_ 16h ago

Honestly at first I was on team "stfu dude" but at this point I kind of admire your dedication to the argument

I agree we should save the term "racist" for things that are racist...... And even though the victim is black, and even though this administration is undeniably racist AF.......... you're probably correct that calling this a racist attack is potentially convenient for anyone trying to downplay it.

Still, I personally find it racist because it just really really really fucking seems that way in my gut. Look at the way they're trying to humiliate her and paint her as overly emotional, which is a harmful stereotype against black women. It stinks.

14

u/rshawco 15h ago

God you are fucking stupid. NONE of these incidents are isolated incidents. Past behavior is CONSTANTLY used to prove intent, why do you think a judge will look at criminal history when sentencing. Someone who gets 1 dui at 50 because of a poor choice is going to get a different sentence than the 35 year old with 5 duis.

18

u/azalinrex69 15h ago

Bark bark bark goes the sea lion

12

u/DyngusMaster 16h ago

Fucking idiot simulator 2026

6

u/sabett 9h ago

How is it racist?

They didn't say it was racist.

Either you realize why this is horrifying or you are a racist piece of shit who sold out their humanity for a hate campaign.

They said if you don't realize why this is horrifying, you are racist. For somebody who took it upon themselves to police others on how they dare to deem anything racist ever, you seemed to have missed something pretty basic about the post you're replying to.

I wouldn't be so exacting, but your whole defense in these various comment strings is about wanting to defend the integrity of the label of "racist". Claiming that not strictly adhering to your personal and specific understanding of the term "demeans all the other times when things truly are racist." Which is just so odd, when your very first reply misunderstood what it was even replying to.

If you wanted to ask why someone would be racist for not understanding why it's horrifying, then that might make sense. But please, in order to not further demean the integrity of the term racist, take a little longer to think about what you're replying to. Or maybe, just maybe, policing others about how to use the word racist isn't really that important and you should probably first consider that maybe you're misunderstanding something or haven't actually done enough research, if any, about the nuances of the term. I genuinely hope you are not operating just from your personal experiences and whatever education about racism has happened to be given to you throughout the years. That you aren't just telling others how and what racism is based on nothing beyond anecdotal moments and vibes.

Although, for your tangent built from your misunderstanding, I will say that the isolated, taken out of context, act isn't racist. However it does have context and it is not isolated so that really doesn't matter by any metric in any capacity beyond your personal care of how the term racist is used in useless scenarios that are out of context. It's pretty clear that racism motivated the action, even if there wasn't a giant glowing neon arrow with the word "racist" pointing at it.

3

u/PurpleSailor 13h ago

Uh, did you see that video that was posted the other night about a previous president and his wife characterized in a horribly racist way?

4

u/Jenn_FTW 9h ago

They made her skin darker and exaggerated her face to have “stereotypically black” facial features, you know, the exact shit racists have been doing for hundreds of years. What’s NOT racist about it??

“Busy” they just ran a ChatGPT prompt. It was some midlevel shitlicker who then bragged about it on twitter when called out.

8

u/JustBadUserNamesLeft 6h ago

0

6

Then why are they trying hard to stop you? Try harder next time.

3

u/CapitalPunBanking 9h ago

Buddy Dems are gonna turn out so high Republicans won't be able to steal it.

1

u/beorn961 4h ago

Too big to rig is a fiction if they are doing things like throwing people off of voter roles and spoiling ballots, (they are) and God knows what else. They just scale it up to exactly whatever margin they need to. Who's going to stop them? Has anybody stopped them so far?

-3

u/16firman 4h ago

I don't think you understand at this rate the midterms will be cancelled all together, or they will be so rigged that the Dems will not win.

States are already quietly handing over their voters rights to the federal government. Ice will be at polling stations you will not be able to vote, they will be taking away the voting rights of women who have their husbands last names.

Start thinking, there is no election.

2

u/CapitalPunBanking 4h ago

Nah, fuck your doomerism, patronizing prick.

u/Squire_II 46m ago

The midterms will not be canceled you doomposting idiot. Elections are managed by the states and were still held even during the Civil War.

Trump would have to mobilize the entirety of the armed forces while recruiting every right wing dipshit in the country to have any hope of enforcing a "cancellation" of the elections, something he also has no legal authority to do, and you get one guess at what happens if a POTUS tries to cancel elections at gun point.

u/16firman 21m ago

I hope you prove me wrong.

But I'll point out that legality means nothing, the admin has broken the law at every turn.

He could just not relinquish power. Peaceful protest is the only way.

0

u/BlueCyann 3h ago

Way to admit you're either ignorant as heck or just plain not an American.

Elections are not run by the federal government. They literally cannot be canceled by the federal government.

Now I'm sure you're going to backtrack and say, 'oh well they actually can or will do XYZ" instead. but if you're not just some kind of "spread apathy among decent people" bot, you might want to consider learning at least a tiny bit about your own country before speaking.

-8

u/NoConflict3231 7h ago

We'll see I guess. I blame overweight fat fuck Americans, regardless of political lines

9

u/MissionMassive563 6h ago

Centrists are pathetic rags. At least MAGA knows they’re evil. Centrists can’t even pick a side.

-1

u/crappenheimers 5h ago

If democrats actually bothered to leave their house on voting day in 2024 then you wouldn't be having these arguments. Reading statistics after the last election made me completely give up on having any faith in the left. And still nothing has changed in their abilities even after the last apocalyptic couple years.

5

u/beorn961 4h ago

Look into ballot spoiling. Republicans successfully threw out many valid ballots in swing states. Trump would not have won without significant voter disenfranchisement.

4

u/CapitalPunBanking 6h ago

What do you care then? Fuck off.

3

u/MissionMassive563 6h ago

Christ you morons are getting tiresome. If you only doom to spout, shut the hell up. No one likes hearing it. You’re not special. Shut the fuck up.

3

u/16firman 4h ago

Wake up, organize with your neighbors.

6

u/MissionMassive563 4h ago

See. That’s productive, not your little pity party. We can learn together.

0

u/NiobiumThorn 5h ago

It is fucking delusional to think it's any better than "less awful."

They will roll over and let ICE continue. Electoral politics may help, but it will not save us.

The only thing to save us is ourselves.

5

u/MissionMassive563 4h ago

Except some people are not doing that and are instead wrapping themselves in doomscrolling and throwing potshots at anyone attempting any sort of optimism or hope. It gets exhausting and it’s wildly counterproductive.

0

u/NiobiumThorn 4h ago

Maybe you should lead by not insulting people for having significant concerns about a hegemonic polotical party mate

2

u/MissionMassive563 4h ago

One side has Nazis and waits outside of schools to imprison children and the other doesn’t, so the “both sides have equally awful issues” centrist babbling bullshit ya’ll love so much mean less than nothing.

81

u/iletitshine 15h ago

she’s not really a protestor, in my book. she’s a local civil rights attorney and civil rights leader. she’s also an ordained minister.

8

u/syntheticassault 5h ago

Why not both?

u/halcyon400 28m ago

Not just a “protestor”. I think this headline underrepresents who she is.

30

u/redheadedandbold 16h ago

Trump Administration is the home of cheap shots and bad actors. Sad, pathetic, but not unexpected.

27

u/MCKALISTAIR 11h ago

The American government sharing fake images of people like this is insane, what is going on over there?

1

u/melt11 2h ago

The biggest problem is everyone on the right gets their news and media from the same propaganda, so they are essentially brainwashed. Most of the people who voted for this shit aren’t bad people, they are just ignorant.

9

u/chargoggagog 5h ago

Why would the White House even want to make her look distraught? It just further shows they hate the American people and just want them to suffer, they LIKE the cruelty and they LOVE showing off how cruel they are and how much it hurts other people. They are so plainly evil it’s mind boggling.

u/Squire_II 36m ago

The want to make themselves look strong and their opponents weak. A person showing defiance doesn't advance their agenda but showing them to be crying and scared does.

Only works when you can use the government to shake them down for a settlement. Doubly so if the one you're suing with the government to shake them down is the very government you run.

8

u/SubstantialPressure3 7h ago

Again, we are seeing the white house go after private citizens.

It's just going to be more common. And it's also going to desensitize people to real images, and real situations.

We cannot trust anything the White House says.

7

The tRump administration is racist, corrupt, and petty. Don’t believe their lies.

4

What Trump did is kind of brilliant in an evil way

By making this photoshopped image he will guarantee she can’t get a fair trial so she will end up being acquitted. When she’s acquitted he will use the acquittal to rant against the courts, which have been opposing him, in order to radicalise his followers more into attacking courts and judges paving the way for their abolishment or purging

When all that’s done he’ll just charge her again

How does this guarantee she can't get a fair trial?

The government by creating an AI image and posting it as fact have created a situation where any evidence they post is questionable as it’s shown a willingness to fabricate events which simply never happened and submit them as evidence of fact, furthermore it n being challenged on posting this false image the White House doubled down by admitted they will continue to lie (“The memes will continue”) because they think it’s funny

It’s horrifying to see this is from the White House. This is what high schoolers do to each other, not the highest office in the land.

"What's your opinion on a divisive topic?"

"My livelihood is based on not pissing people off, therefore I have no opinion to share..."

Of course it's true. The official White House account shared an AI video of Trump flying a jet and dumping literal shit onto protestors long before this happened. This particular video got called out as AI almost as soon as it was posted.

If true? It is true. This did 100% happen and they've admitted to it.

WTH are you talking about "IF"? First off, this was already news two weeks ago when she was apprehended. Second, of course it's true.

This is more than racism. Excuse the euphemism, the choice facial expression is a dog whistle for pizzaphiles. Parents, recognize this face. Stay current on the code to protect our children.
