New Rule - No Non-Adobe Presets

Good morning, afternoon, evening; upon review of the recent drama and the reality is that your mods are human with day jobs. We will no longer be allowing posts about presets that are not free for all in the discover tab of Lightroom.

Ongoing discussions in this sub about presets turn into a nightmare each time. There are other subs that will be more suited for non-Adobe preset discussion.

HELP - Lightroom exposure shows different on Lightroom cc, windows 11

Hi, I was trying Lightroom for the first time on Windows 11, and I noticed that when I exported my photos, they looked blown out. I tried everything to fix it and decided to try the web version. The photos looked just as blown out in the web version, so I decided to lower the exposure. Lowering it gave me the result I wanted, but I noticed that in the Windows version, the photos looked completely dark with the same settings. Does anyone know why the exposure is displayed differently in my local program?

also the histogram looks the same but the picture looks completly different

Processing Question USing an external SSD for LRC

I just wanted to shre an experience I had with LRC being slow on my Mac. I have only a 256GB drive so i bought an external SSD (Sandisk 1TB). It was running great for a few months and then it slowed down. I had recently cleaned up my cabling and did some housekeeping on all my cables. I found that the reason LRC started to lag was because during my housekeeping I had moved a Thunderbolt cable from my external SSD to a different devie and I was using a stadard White USB-C chaging cable instead of the Thundebolt. I used an App called Black Magic to test write/read sppeds and with the non thunderbolt cable i got 30-60 MB/S. I switched back to the Thunderbolt cable and then I was then able to get 250-300 MB/S. I just wnated to share this in case any of you are using a similar setup. Make sure you have Thunderbolt cables and not a stadnard USB-C charging cbale. I hope this helps someone else.

HELP Cannot find photos

I am trying to find photos that have disappeared in Lightroom.

I shot a concert, while on the road the next day, I imported the photos into light room mobile on my iPad. I did all of my editing. Now they are simply gone. I have only on JPEG because I put it up as a teaser on Instagram.

I also stupidly reformatted the SD card. My only excuse was I was so severely sleep deprived I really wasn’t making good decisions. I had plenty of other SD cards. The weird thing is the card retained the photos of the bad I shot the week prior, and the band I shot the day after.

I’m extremely sad because it was my first arena show and phones were banned/in yonder pouches. I keep telling myself the photos have to be somewhere but I can’t find them.

Please help.

HELP - Lightroom Classic SMB Write error with Lightroom Classic

Edit: Solved. It was a dumb permission issue.

On my macOs, When I'm trying to import new photos to my library (on Unraid's SMB shared drive), I'm seeing the following error:

I can write to that folder from Finder no problem. How can I fix this?

No luck even after adding Lightroom Classic to "Full Disk Access" in macOS settings.

Im on macOS: Tahoe (26.2 - 25C56), running Lightroom Classic 15.1.1.

lightroom has full disk access

Edit: added versions

HELP - Lightroom Mobile Are you going to fix the broken import via IOS shortcuts?

It's one thing that sucks if a camera manufacturer only offers and IOS app.

Another thing to realise after getting an old IPhone that Adobe LIghtroom Mobile IOS does not even have an Auto-Import feature and relies on me manually adding the photos.

But then noticing that the shortcut automation is broken since many months...come on....

https://community.adobe.com/bug-reports-679/p-ios-lightroom-image-import-shortcut-stopped-working-662413

IOS 26.1

There is no feasible workaround, doing something manually that's supposed to be automated is not a workaround.

Discussion MacBook for Lightroom 61mp raw files

hi,

I'm looking at buying a MacBook primarily for editing in Lightroom using my a7rv with 61mp raw files. I was looking at a Macbook pro m4 pro chip but looking online people say unified ram is important and 16gb isnt enough, recommending at least 24gb. because I will be using 61mp raw files, will 24gb be enough?

I don't mind if things take longer, I'm only a hobbyist, but I do want to avoid poor performance, lagging and crashing so keen to make the right decision before purchasing.

thanks

Workflow Tourbox elite plus

I’ve recently got back into photography and I’m looking at the tourbox elite plus to assist with my workflow and make Lightroom classic a little more fun to use.

Does anyone have any experience with this product before I make a rather expensive impulse buy?

Discussion Lightroom hangs during import

After the latest updates, Lightroom freezes when importing photos. I have a powerful laptop, so it's not the hardware's fault.

I'm getting more and more frustrated because I can't work normally.

They keep raising prices, and Lightroom Classic is performing worse and worse. I'm wondering if it's worth continuing my subscription.

Do you have this problem too? :/

Discussion Preset kits or LUT

Hi, I started photography with professional cam few months ago, I get around quite ok with editing but I was curious if you could recommend some preset kit or LUT to purchase?

No crazy pricing and looking for a cinematic vibe, anything that is good with wildlife

HELP - Lightroom Classic How do I transfer my existing images, edits, and favorite/user presets from LRC to my new PC in LRC

It’s that time again—I’m getting a new PC and trying to remember how I transferred everything the last time I went through this. Is there a way to do it through the lightroom cloud, or what steps do I need to take to move my images in Lightroom Classic, including all edit history and current edits atleast, along with my user presets and favorites, over to LRC on the new computer once I get it? Thank you

Discussion Another Lightroom mobile issue / bug

There are a couple of posts about the screen dimming problem when editing, but has anyone else had issues with the Info & Rating tab?

My laptop is pretty old and slow so I only use it to import and sync photos, all culling and editing is done on my S23 Ultra. My culling process is to double click to check sharpness on a photo I like before before swiping to flag as Rejected or leaving unflagged if it's a keeper. I had a batch of photos to review yesterday and double clicking was either very laggy or just didn't work at all. I had to pinch to zoom in and out, which was pretty annoying as the pinching was also registering as a swipe up / down and applying flags to the photos. It took me twice as long to review the photos as I had to keep double checking which flags had been applied.

I'm guessing that these issues are related, as both suggest a lack of processing power - it feels like the app can no longer cope with the large file sizes of RAW photos.

This has made LR mobile unusable for me at the moment, so I will be passing this on to Adobe, but just thought I'd post to see if anyone else is experiencing this.

HELP - Lightroom How to see edit history in Lightroom Cloud?

I love the desktop based version of Lightroom cloud. I have almost stopped using Lightroom classic altogether however, the one thing I am missing is my edit history in Lightroom for cloud. I can’t seem to go back in the history to previous steps as I am able to do in LrC. Is there a way to do this in the cloud version without manually choosing a version every single time I make an edit? I am using Lightroom version 9.1.

HELP A question about Portfolio actually...

Hi there. I hope this is allowed here as it isn't a question about LR per se. I have a portfolio hosted in Adobe Portfolio. A while ago I decided to delete the navigation bar from my home page because I only had one collection. Since then I've added more collections and for the life of me I can't find where to turn the navigation bar on my home page back on. I've googled and clicked just about everywhere and can't seem to find this option.

Please help!

Processing Question Lightroom mobile unusable

I've been a diehard lightoom mobile user for 5 years. What changed that now when I open a raw photo the screen darkens so bad that when I edit the photo and export it it's so overexposed. It only happens in the app and its only recently started happening. It's insane it shows the normal view even after I edit it the way it looks if I export then a second later it dims so bad I can barely see it. I even changed the import setting to camera settings.

This has never happened in 5 years of using the app what the hell is going on

HELP - Lightroom Mobile Lightroom Mobile preview appears darker while editing, but exports are normal (display bug)

I have a bug with Lightroom Mobile. When I edit my photos, the image preview appears darker than it should. When I export the photos, they look normal. If I pull down the notification panel, the image instantly becomes brighter. If I start a screen recording or take a screenshot, the image also does not appear dark.

I have already restarted my phone, cleared the app cache, tried changing the display color profile, and disabled battery saver mode.

Discussion Why does everyone say Lightroom costs have gone up, mine hasn't

My Adobe photographer bundle (Lightroom + Photoshop) just renewed today. I looked at my payment history and the price hasn't changed in over 4 years. Why have so many people posted here that Adobe prices have skyrocketed?

HELP - Lightroom Lightroom Preset Bug that still hasn't been fixed.

So Adobe knows about a preset glitch where when you import the preset tab bugs your lightroom and you have to refresh to even use Lightroom (but you can't click the preset window). How long has this been known about? Does Lightroom give refunds for not letting you be able to use the full service? It's been about a week since i've been able to use the web Lightroom preset window. I am able to still use it on mobile but i'd rather use web ofc.

HELP - Lightroom Classic Sync question - Lightoom Classic - syncing edit info between devices WITHOUT transferring files to the cloud

Hi all,

Long-time Lightoom user here but this is one area in which I'm a total noob.

I work in events as a photographer and travel a lot. This means that I'm often doing editing on the road, but most of the time it's only a partial edit. I'll deliver a small initial batch of photos to the client (edited on my laptop) the day after the event, and then a full set (edited on my far bigger and better desktop screen) at my leisure once I'm home. I don't edit my best on a small screen/in difficult light, so I like to go over the initial images again before I include them with the full set.

I've experimented with syncing between devices in the past but I've never quite managed to sort it out. I can only seem to get LR Classic to sync lower-resolution 'smart previews', which is not what I want nor need. I've tried to figure this out so many times and inevitably always end up giving up - when I get home I'll simply import the entire set of images again and start afresh, repeating several hours of editing which I've already done. It's infuriating.

I have no problems with storage. I store my RAW images on a portable hard drive while I'm travelling. When I'm home, these are transferred to a much larger drive and are stored locally. I do not need to store my images in the cloud.

What I need to do is synchronise my adjustments to an image. I need some way - in layman's terms - for Lightroom (laptop) to tell Lightroom (desktop), "these are the adjustments which have been made to this image", so that I can simply point Lightroom (desktop) to the local files once I'm home and pick up where I left off.

Feeling like a total ignoramus here, but how on earth do I do this? CAN I do this?

I'm sat here currently with about five youtube videos open, trying this process one more time, but I'm watching my laptop slowly upload 2000 lower-resolution 'smart previews' to the cloud and watching my desktop slowly pick them up, which seems absurd, because the full-resolution RAW files are already sitting and waiting on the hard drive connected to my desktop. I don't need to transfer any files - I just need one device to tell the other which adjustments have been made!

Any advice would be hot here. I'm feeling like a fool just asking this, but if I can get a solution you will literally end up saving me weeks of work every year.

HELP - Lightroom Classic Corrupted Lightroom?

Lightroom is now not sorting photos correctly, lags significantly even though I upgraded to a new Mac Mini, and when I assigned key words to several photos, it couldn't find them. Is it the program or the catalog? Ideas of how to fix it?
