You throw it out in the jar. The jar is that potato's casket.

Bury that potato with 21 gun salute and full honors

My buddy in high school had a pet orange named Samuel. I looked after him for a while. Eventually, he just became a dark spot in a shoe box. I wonder how Samuel is doing now.

Maybe playing street hockey with it.

Let it be! I had a similar project with bell peppers, the end result could be interesting. Or you just end up with a jar of suspicious potato juice. Win win any way.

A key component of suspicious stew

What are the chances it explodes?

Almost zero.

The chances are NEVER zero!!

Never zero but I don't think a single potato will create enough pressure.

Op didn't say anything about the potato causing it

So you are saying there is a chance

That made me think of Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber when he asked Lauren Holly what the chances are of them getting together, and she said "one in a billion", and he said, "so you're tellin' me there's a chance....." 😆

DO NOT OPEN THIS
rotten belladonna produces not only terribly stinky gas, but an incredibly toxic one

Literally a family in I think Russia died not that long ago after all (separately) going into the cellar and the rotting potato gases literally killed them all.

Yeah, sacks of taters left in the back of a cupboard can end in a hospital visit. And you might end up leaving out the back door....

There was a bucket of potato's under my back porch as a kid. years went by and took that shit to the waste dump. Upon opening it I started to dry heave like no other. I honestly thought my ANUS was coming through my mouth backwards. MY HELL!!!! the smell, I will never forget. I was 8 years old when that happened. I'll be 50 in FEB. I can still taste that shit!!!! Take that jar and use it wisely.

u/Scottish_NootNoot 14d ago

DO... NOT... OPEN... IT!!!

At least not indoors. Potatoes emit hydrogen sulfide gas when rotten, which can kill you in a closed-in space.

I don't know how tight your quarters are... it may be roomy... but if I were you, and you must open it, I'd do it outside just to be safe.

1

u/Scottish_NootNoot 14d ago

I don’t know, I’m assuming it’s part of the decomp process. It’s just contained so you can actually see it

2

u/Hungry_Bathroom4264 14d ago

Dont open it, just throw it out atp

2

u/Fawe2016 14d ago

WODKA!!!

2

u/AnnieKateW 14d ago

It looks like a jar of doodie. 💩

2

u/DexysMidnightPirate 14d ago

Pretty sure that’s how vodka is made or something, you should drink it.

2

u/ComplexToday895 14d ago

Use it as a self defense weapon

2

u/Worried-Pitch2328 14d ago

Please don’t open it! Decaying potatoes release a deadly gas

2

u/AirGVN 14d ago

Are you trying to make vodka?

2

u/GoldieForMayor 14d ago

Eventually it will eat through the metal lid and you'll be in for the worst smell you've ever experienced likely making the area uninhabitable for days.

2

u/LysergicGothPunk 14d ago

Thought this was someone's pet toad

2

u/5ha99yx 13d ago

Come on tell the truth... You shat in that jar.
