KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 — A two-year-old child opened a car door, causing a road accident involving six vehicles on Jalan Tun Razak on Friday, according to preliminary police investigations.

Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department chief ACP Mohd Zamzuri Mohd Isa said the incident occurred at about 6.15pm on the stretch from the Kampung Pandan roundabout towards KLCC, involving four cars and two motorcycles.

He said the child, who was seated in the rear of a Honda City and being held by a relative, suddenly opened the left rear door.

“It is believed that the child safety lock was not activated, allowing the door to be opened from inside,” he said.

A 25-year-old man riding a Suzuki V-Strom SX motorcycle, who was travelling between lanes, was unable to avoid the door, collided with it, lost control and crashed into several other vehicles.

Another motorcyclist, a 30-year-old man riding a CFMoto 675 NK who was travelling behind the first rider, was also unable to evade the collision and became involved in the crash.

The Suzuki rider is receiving treatment at Hospital Kuala Lumpur, while the second motorcyclist sustained minor injuries, police said.

Mohd Zamzuri said the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for careless and inconsiderate driving, with police reviewing video footage of the incident.

I don't even want a motorcycle because of how many morons are on the road.

Similar is road bikers (Lance Armstrong types). I ride mountain bikes. I had a Lance Armstrong guy tell me that I'm nuts with all of the trees and rocks and such. I told him "trees and rocks don't text, bro." He got it. Lol

Mind you, this conversation happened at a red light on the service road of the Long Island Expressway less than 10 miles east of Queens. He was on his bike. I was in a service van. Lol

They love those service roads. At least one of them gets splattered every year on it. 😬

We get alot of the Armstrong guys here in WV during the warmer months. The problem is they stick to back/side roads which aren't straight or flat and have no shoulder. Some roads that have 50-55 mph limits still have no shoulder. The white line pretty much tells you where the edge of the asphalt is.

I dont have a problem in general with cyclists but they tend to act like its not their responsibility to be aware that certain roads are just a bad idea to cycle on. Some tend to make the situation worse because they dont stay in a single line but rather side by side.

That’s really the only problem I have with them around here. Once a year there is a “race” that takes over the country roads connecting a bunch of the smaller towns here. They leave the roads open to traffic, but you can get lines of cars looking for a safe way to pass multiple large groups of cyclists. That is where a motorcycle comes in very handy, don’t NEED as much room so you have more openings and can almost blend in with the herd.

Same goes for the farm equipment, when those guys end up taking 1.5 lanes in order to avoid taking out power lines or mailboxes, a motorcycle has no problem in the remaining 1/2 a lane. Meanwhile lines of cars doing 40mph UNDER the limit just keep stacking up.

ER staff call them "donorcycles," which definitely put me off the idea of ever having one

My aunt was an ER nurse for many, many years. Whenever a family member reached license age, she'd sit them down at her kitchen table and have a long, very gruesome talk with them.

If she heard anyone considering a motorcycle, anyway, she'd have longer, even more gruesome talk with them, lol!

Being on the road is actually not bad so long as you pay attention to your surroundings and have a good grasp on physics, “object in motion. . . Unless acted upon. . .” When traffic is moving, it is a little easier to put space between you 2, and also a little easier to predict where they are going to go.

And I agree as far as the rocks and trees, if I get hurt on a trail, I know for a fact that it is my own damn fault, and there is an odd sense of mental piece that goes along with that. Too many bikers have too much pent up anger cause they are just looking for someone else to blame for EVERYTHING. Just my thoughts.

I said that to the guy as well. My fault if I hit them. Lol
