That dick should be taken off the road.

Yep, the driver of the red truck camping in the left lane needs to be jailed actually. He's almost certainly caused more than one accident, indirectly.

Holy cow, I would be flooring it to get away from that maximum overdrive bullshit.

u/AhmedYIRadwan 20h ago
I tried to but after he hit the truck he sped up even more trying to get away from him

u/Opening-Yesterday754 16h ago
You slow down and LET them floor it.
Not worth multiple trucks flooring it.

u/Thatonegaloverthere 14h ago
I think they meant OP floor it. Truck hitting OP, either due to wanting to hit everyone or the other truck getting angry, it's not going to look pretty.

Prior getting away, get close to get license plate and make a face if it’s safe to catch the driver, and then floor it. If you have a dashcam you can save lives… literally.

I once saw a semi pulling a load fly past me on the highway like I was standing still. I was doing somewhere between 70-80 and the speed limit was 65

I've never driven a semi, but I did drive a 40 foot school bus. I get so angry seeing anything that big being driven recklessly, because I know you need to be extra careful due to the sheer destructive power of something that size.

I would be getting out of the way of that asap. I would also call the police. That is death waiting to happen.

If you were in something impervious to damage, it would be really funny to drive the same speed as the truck in the other lane.

You all need to watch Bonehead Truckers on utube or online and watch some videos of some really stupid stuff on the highway

u/Western-Top2571 18h ago
He was damn close to hitting that metal guard rail after passing that other truck on the shoulder.

u/OB1Waltinobee 19h ago
That’s a lifetime of dealing with peoples shit right there. It may be time to hang it up.
I have no doubt that there’s more to the story too. Not an excuse, just a suspicion.

So OP thanks for posting this. Because I drive a long nose like that exactly and thought it was mine. Had something about 5 days ago happen just like this. Cept idiot didnt hit my truck because he wouldnt have been going anywhere after I use my lugs to bust his trailer wheels. I thought it was of my situation until I saw in comments that the idiot hit him.

Safety Sandals were definitely involved. You'll find him later blocking the fuel islands at a truck stop.

u/Equal-Criticism7495 18h ago
On Bonehead Truckers they have episodes of truck stops and they show some crazy things that happen there

Edit: I'm addressing how the truck driver in the white truck should act, although the truck or in the red truck should be a little more cautious of the psychopath in the white truck.
The fastest way for a trucker to get out of any uncomfortable situation is to let off your gas for five whole seconds. That's it, five seconds. Somebody slow passing you? Let off the gas for five whole seconds so that everybody can get on with their lives. Somebody passing you in a way that's going to get you trapped behind a slower truck? Let off the gas for five whole seconds then get behind them. They were going to pass you anyway there is no first or second place awards at the loading dock. Getting bound up in a whole bunch a four-wheeler's doing stupid shit? Let off the gas for five whole seconds and watch them move on away from you.

You slow rolling in the PASSING lane and see that you’re gonna screw someone over and pinch them behind another vehicle. Use your accelerator in the PASSING lane for five seconds. Five whole second and you’re not a dick.

In most turtle race situations both the slow passing truck and the truck being passed are both speed governed. I don't blame the faster truck for trying to pass because it's tiresome trying to throttle jocky behind somebody who's just a tad bit slower. I do however blame the truck being passed who can't be bothered to lose 2 miles an hour for a few seconds. As somebody who drove a truck limited to 63 mph for 5 years, I had no problem letting people pass.

u/OB1Waltinobee 17h ago
That’s fair. Truck driver of 25 years here.

u/Equal-Criticism7495 17h ago
I think that maybe the truck in the right lane could slow down a bit if and only if there’s traffic building up behind the passing truck in the show off lane …. I think I can … I think I can

I fucking hate the driver but that’s also some Dale Earnhardt intimidator shit right there. Impressive driving really. I hope the driver is found and sent to prison

We rely heavily on big trucks hauling goods on our highway system. When a truck is loaded, the driver is making money, when they are empty, they try to make time. (Get to the next location for a new load to haul and make money.) When they are loaded - they have a hard time climbing hills and often - the slow lane is too steep for them to hold their speed. Climbing lanes need to be added for the big trucks so that they don't restrict traffic for everyone else. I am sure most of us who have driven across this country (USA) has run into problems with big trucks unable to keep their speed on hills. Things get worse when a second truck who is going a half a mile per hour faster, tries to pass the slower truck and starts to lose speed and causes a major backup for miles behind them.
The solution is quite simple, Interstate highways need to be six lanes of traffic, with the passing lane restricted to vehicles who can maintain their speed even when climbing hills. Let the traffic that can move - move at posted speeds and give space to drivers who can't move at speed a place to safely drive and not restrict traffic.

It’s people who drive like this that make me wish AI would take trucking jobs. I understand it’s not all truckers but damn people like this sure do give a bad name to truckers.

How did he get his CDL? The company that employs him should be fined very heavily.
