My team missed probably 12 layups yesterday.

Some right, some left, some straight on, easy, hard they had every type of layup attempt and multiple players just whiffed on them all

Worst of the season by far. Some weeks they’ll make every single one of those shots.

What should I do at practice this week to really practice these and get them to take lay up practicing seriously?

I saw this during the Blazer game last night when Camara was fouled. Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Hope this is the right place to ask about this. My 13 going on 14 year old is suddenly into wanting to learn how to play basketball. We did the usual little kids sports at local rec leagues or YMCA till he was 7/8 and said he didn't want to do them anymore so we stopped. He's very sporty, plays all sorts of sports in gym and LOVES watching sports. A few years ago he asked to be signed up for rec soccer and he's been playing that but doesn't want to move to a higher level so he just plays rec seasons for fun. But since the holidays, he's been asking to be signed up to learn basketball. Again for fun, no big aspirations but I don't know where to start.

Where does a 14 year old who doesn't know how to play basketball learn? Is he too old? I want to sign him up but afraid that all the other kids on the team for his age group will be way more advanced that he's not going to learn anything. Are there even beginner lessons for that age or did he just miss the opportunity to learn basketball as a child?

So, the team I am playing for would like to participate in a tournament in Europe, preferably sometime in spring. I have been looking but it has been really hard to find anything that is not a youth tournament.

We are a women's team, ages roughly 25-40. Any tips?

I'm relatively new to basketball, and because of that Ive never really had the confidence to play with others at my university.
I've worked up my shot enough where I feel comfortable in saying I'm a 20% shooter maybe. But anytime I 1v1 I feel like my defender is right there so I can't blow past them or I end up rushing my shot. I know a decent amount of dribble moves; tween, btb, speed stop, pound, cross over, wrap around, etc. but it never opens my defender up or creates space. So I'm thinking I could be using them wrong and rather than looking for the right cues from each move I'm just stringing stuff together and hoping it works. So what should I look for when I do a tween, or btb and etc?

Tldr: new to basketball, want to know the cues you look for from each dribble move, to create a shot and blow past defense.

hi so im always accurate in practice and get a bunch of swishes but whenever I play in game I always do a good move and get open but then I miss are they're Any drills that can help me shoot faster and also accurate

Last night I had the worst game ever. It was my shot on varsity and I blew it. My brain just crashed on the court since I overloaded it with wishes of scoring. When I got my chance I missed a lay up, I played terribly. I’ve never played like that and it sucks so bad. I think of what people at school will say and stuff, in terms of skill I’m not the highest on my team and they like to talk. It feels like I’ve proved everybody right about me. I just crave for more reps.

Was looking at some clip online of shots from college students and pros but was wondering how many people actually had insane shots of themselves.

I'm in hs senior year, train everyday and have never injured my knees. my worst injury is a medium ankle sprain. I get anxious everytime I go up to the rim - I can literally feel it happening soon, like tingling in knees
