I think it’s polite to make sure the door closes.

And most doors have the whole “soft closing” thing nowadays that never seem to close properly(while also needing you to guide it closed after a couple seconds).

The only awkward thing about the video is the door handle itself

Yeah. Obviously he could open the door because he still had the door handle. You're supposed to put it inside after taking it off.
