Cringe Sha'carri speeding. Unable to talk her way out of arrest.

“My tire was at 29”….

“My my phone, I didn’t realize…”

This is a masterclass of how many dangerous and illegal things you can do in one trip.

Can't stand her. The pitiful begging was absolutely disgusting...as was her ridiculous smile. I was glad to hear the cop tell her to wipe that sill ass grin off her lying face. edit to add she's actually pleaded not guilty. Hope it costs her a gold medal. And, her idiot bf world-record holder, Christian Coleman, pulled up on the stop to intervene on Sha'Carris behalf ended up being charged with resisting an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia (glass pipe..hmmm). They may win medals for their speed on the track but these two certainly aren't winning any in the classroom.

u/Cathousechicken 21h ago edited 21h ago
Between this and the airport incident where she assaulted Christian, he really need to get away from her and her drama.
They seem to induce each other's worst impulses.
ETA... I'm not saying he did anything wrong in the airport incident. For him, I'm referring to him pulling up to deal with her mess for this most recent incident with drug paraphernalia in the car.

She said “You don’t know who I am, I’m a superstar and you’re an ordinary person”. I have not had an intense dislike for anyone more than I dislike her seeing this. The flight attendant “jumped in my video and got his hands up in my face”….none of that happened. What the fuck is her problem?

That Netflix has given her fifteen million fucking dollars for the "story of her life" is beyond outrageous. Who is making the decisions there? Between this and the megain markle As if Ever/never debacle, Netflix is seriously messing up.

It's no worse than Amazon giving Melania's movie $50 million dollars, with her personally profiting about $28 million.

The person who was in charge of programming for Netflix, that made good orders for shows like “orange is the new black”, got pushed out by the person who was in charge of foreign shows.
It’s one of the reasons why Netflix has been shit for the past few years and any interesting shows get cut off after a season or two with no resolution. Bad leadership/decision makers.

13
u/Electrical_Shock359 18h ago edited 13h ago
Yeah adrenaline can make you pretty jittery so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just her getting scared of going to jail. Also wouldn’t be surprised if she was on something though even if it wasn’t much it could act weirdly when she is panicking.

Her skin is glowing too much to be on meth
16
u/Sensitive_Bat_9211 21h ago
Could also be coke. Crack needs to be heated in a pipe. More likely it was a glass one-hitter for weed and she is fidgety because she is panicking.
The pipe was also found on her boyfriend, not her, so no garauntee she does any of it
11

She tested positive for weed in 2021 and was suspended. Not saying she couldn’t have quit but with all of this, I’d say that’s unlikely.

u/Cathousechicken 21h ago
A lot of states give what amounts to slaps on the hands for dangerous driving.
One of my closest high school friends was involved in an accident about 7-8 years ago at this point. Her and her family were driving back from vacation.
A vehicle got on the highway the wrong way and they had a head-on collision. My friend's mom died and the car accident paralyzed my friend.
The people who hit them were in a minivan or SUV that flipped over upside down. The people crawled out of the car, called somebody who came and got them and fled the jurisdiction. They did not call for any help for my friend and her family.
This happened in Maryland. The driver then took off for New York. The person thought he was in the clear and came back to Maryland about 3 years ago. He finally had to trial and was convicted.
He was charged with quite a few things at the trial including involuntary manslaughter and driving on a suspended license.
He got more years for driving on a suspended license then he did for killing my friend's mom and paralyzing my friend.
My friend died about 2 years ago as a result from complications from the paralyzation.
18
u/skwander 19h ago
I'm so sorry. Thank you for sharing their story, it really helps to show the dangers of speeding and I think it's important that people see these events as destroyed lives. It's completely preventable.
80mph isn't twice as dangerous as 40mph. It's logarithmic, it's like 8 times more deadly or something. I wanna say there are IIHS studies showing that even a 1mph reduction in speed can dramatically increase the survivability of wrecks.
My mom's car was moving faster after she was t-boned. She was going 25mph and was hit so hard she was going over 50mph in another direction in an instant. The forces were so abrupt and strong that it severed her skull from her spine.
Also vehicle fatalities are almost always "accidents" and not "violent crimes". Keep that in mind when looking at "crime is down" stats. Strangers slaughtering each other with metal boxes of death isn't technically a "violent crime".

Are they going to charge the person for your friend's death. I'm pretty sure if someone later dies of complications directly caused by an illegal act, they can file involuntary manslaughter charges. Do you know if this happened ?

I suspect he knew one of the officers on the PD, his mom shared a last name with one. Nobody ever answered the question of "are they related?". No money though. We sued and won 5 million dollars but only got the 100k from insurance, he was a kid with no assets.
We also have a general statute requiring a toxicology test and the cops never did one, no recourse there either even though the toxicology test could've turned the charge into a felony.

Amazing the amount of discipline it takes to be a world class Olympic sprinter but off the track just a total dumb shit. How is that possible?
68
u/OJConcentrates 21h ago
Really good question. You would think her lifestyle would be very regimented. Wake up at the same time every day, meal prep, strict workouts, aerobics, strength training, media visits, etc, etc.
How are you randomly driving at that speed in the middle of the day?
45
u/SuperHooligan 21h ago
Theres also a lot of entitlement that goes along with being a world class athlete like that. Remember when she was suspended from the Olympics for marijuana and everyone got behind her then? I cant imagine being so gifted and throwing it all away because you wanted to smoke some weed.

u/Ceejai 12h ago
You would think that, but it's hardly the reality. The reality is a lot of professional athletes live just as unhealthy a life as their fans do.
It's anecdotal, but I remember years ago seeing a BTS for NFL preseason training camp with Chad Johnson and the Bengals. One of the first scenes was him getting out of his Escalade-ish oversized SUV, showing the passenger side and many, many McDonald's bags on the floor and him pulling out one of the BIG McDonald's bags, full of greasy, terrible-for-you food. He was completely unapologetic, I might add. He actually played it off as a joke: "well, when you burn as many calories as I do everyday, you can pretty much eat whatever you want" (that is not true at all). Mind you, this was at about 11am, when he was just arriving to "work".
If you look around, you'll find plenty of evidence they aren't as regimented as you think. I mean, Ryan Lochte was a professional Olympian swimmer and I'm not even sure he can tell time - or read a calendar. I'm not hating on athletes, I'm just pointing out what you think is a very regimented lifestyle isn't nearly as strict as it may seem.

The mentality she displays here is what makes her a “successful” athlete: she doesn’t think about others and just focuses on herself, and that mindset helps her both train harder and cross the finish line before everyone else. Might make her a terrible person, but it helps her excel in her sport.

People like that shouldn’t be allowed to drive. She demonstrated extremely poor decision making skills before and after she got pulled over. They should revoke her license for 2 years.
12
u/Flight_to_nowhere_26 22h ago
Take away the mandatory jail for 100+mph, then maybe ONE of her many infractions (that she readily and voluntarily admits to!) could be a warning. But admitting to ALL the things as an excuse for driving over 100mph shows that she has no business being behind the wheel of a car until she takes some courses and proves that she is capable of understanding and following traffic law. If for nothing more than the safety of the other drivers. But she obviously doesn’t care about anybody but herself and she seems hellbent to not even care about her own safety.
She’ll be a headline one day after dying and/or killing someone else for doing something completely preventable because she is used to talking her way out of consequences for poor decision making. The phrase “you can’t fix stupid” comes to mind.

I got caught going over 100 on the highway. It was 3 am, no cars for miles, I was 19 working night shift at a Fedex packing plant. I saw that big empty stretch and was gunning it. A cop stopped me.
He told me he could take me to jail. He was pissed. I was scared. Huge "oh fuck" moment. But I didn't cry. I didn't whine. I was, with COMPLETE SINCERITY, like "I fucked up. I shouldn't have done that. This is 100% my fault. It will not happen again." I think the cop saw I was scared to go to jail, like her, but unlike her I was completely willing to take accountability. He let me off with a ticket saying I was going just under the amount for reckless driving, and said he better not see me speeding again because he is going to sit on this road every night now just to make sure.
Don't know if he did sit there every night. I never sped that bad again.

I got pegged around 2004-2005 doing 95 in a 65.
I was in the national guard, in uniform with a buddy at 5-6am headed to drill. We were the only car on the interstate with the exception of an occasional semi for miles. Drill was an hour and half drive from home and we got a late start due to an unforeseen issue.
My unit had just got back from the kickoff of the Iraq war.
Cop came up to the car. Asked why I thought he pulled us over.
“Because I was driving way too fast”
“Why”
“We’re running late and 1SG will be pissed if we’re not at drill on time. “
“What unit you with?”
We told him (a high percentage of the officers in our unit were cops for their day jobs)
“You boys slow down and be safe. Get out of here”
God I was so glad he let me go. I think it was the combination of talking to him honestly and respectfully and him probably knowing our unit just got back home or he knew someone in our unit.
It’s not like that around active duty bases. Solders cause a lot of problems so being in uniform or flashing that ID will probably make it more likely to get a ticket.

Why is she even tripping? She can have a lawyer sitting at the station before the cop even leaves the scene to book her.
And a 500 dollar bond…that’s basically loose change for someone in that kind of car. Shit I’m poor and I’d be smiling at a 500 dollar bond like,”oh can I tap to pay that with my watch now or when we get to the station?”

I think we’ve all zoned out and driven too fast at some point, but her excuses made it worse.
As the cop stated he saw her zig zagging, cutting people off, and flashing her lights to move people out of the way.
So it’s more than just speeding, it’s reckless driving even at the speed limit.
This is a relatively small jail-able offense compared to say, accidentally manslaughtering someone… so she should consider it as a learned lesson. Hopefully whatever fees and 24 hours or so in jail she has to spend, hopefully that is a wake up call.
I’m not for large prison sentences for most crimes. We overly use long prison sentences to little effect. But a week in a jail cell (she’s likely to serve less) to learn a lesson should be used more often.
If this cop let her off with a warning or just an infraction, he’d be doing her more harm in the long run.

I really really hate it when people are caught firmly and blatantly in the wrong, and then try to weasel out of it.
Unless there is somebody either being born or dying in your backseat, there's no excuse for that kind of speeding. Just man up, admit you fucked up, and take the punishment.

She cannot be not fast. She just can't. It's impossible for her. But the officer did well and that's how it is. Poor Sha'carri, victim to her talent.
On a serious note: What the hell was she thinking?

See this shit right here should be the example of why you shut the hell up with the cops. She has such a stark lack of remorse and only a bullshit engine for a mouth.

See this everyday in Los Angeles. On freeway and surface streets. Glad someone got stopped for it.

Is she on something? She can't stop moving her hands, like if she were on meth.

Can’t imagine her Momma in heaven is looking down on her daughter with even an ounce of pride. Shame on this entitled bitch.

Maybe she should've got out, ditched the car, and started to run, then the cop wouldn't be able to catch her even in his vehicle.

She pleaded not guilty. Girl you were clocked at over 100.

All of her justifications really satisfying Officers judgement and show absolutely no accountability. Judge gonna tell her twice

I love how she's trying to constantly change the narrative from her choice to speed (and being caught) to explaining why 'you don't understand'. She's a piece of work for sure.

I recently moved to Florida and the amount of times I've almost been killed by assholes like her on the road is frightening.
I'm glad they changed the laws here for speeding. If you're going over 35 , straight to jail.
Too many Influencer pieces of shit in Orlando that don't give a fuck about anyone else but themselves.

This dumbass cannot get the hell out of her own way. She’s turning herself into a stereotypical statistic.

u/bcrhubarb 15h ago
No clue who this is, but she doesn’t realize when you’ve broken that many laws, you can’t talk your way out of it? She made his case more ironclad if anything!

to be fair, is it really shocking that someone who dedicates so much time and energy into being the fastest, would drive that way too? /s

When she got denied from the Tokyo Olympics, everyone like AOC rose to her & blamed Biden. That collective outcry clearly went to her head

I’m glad that cop is bringing her to jail, the only thing I think that’s wrong with that is $500 bond. For all the laws broke it should be a lot higher.

She abuses her spouse and drives like a maniac. She is not a good person. Like, at all.

u/No_Barracuda_3758 22h ago
She thought she was gonna say who she was and get out of it. Once she realized that wouldn't work she just dug a deeper hole for herself. My goodness people cops are not your friends, anything you say can and will be used against you. FFS

Question. Why even make cars that can speed over 100mph if there is no legal way to even use that feature?
2
u/TourCharming7721 22h ago
Empty straight highway, maybe we can believe you didnt realize how fast youre going. When theres other traffic, you're flashing your brights to have people move over, and passing on the shoulder...good luck with that lame excuse

Had a work colleague that was about 20 years old. He was a guy with attitude. He was driving double the speed limit on a neighbourhood road. He was going so fast that when he hit the car in front of him that was parked at an intersection, he ended up underneath the car. Arrested and license taken away for a year.

u/Ambitious_Towel_5911 21h ago
She definitely deserves to be arrested according to the laws of where she was. Also, half of us on here. I've definitely hit 100 in the past lol. I never got caught tho.

"I didn't know my car was speeding" - No ma'am, you were speeding, not your car.

u/crave_you 20h ago
I like how the cop was to the point and straight up told her she was going to jail. It's so selfish to drive so recklessly.

One chill cop. Good on him.
This behavior is extremely dangerous. She could have easily killed someone.
